Intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) often uses small beam segments. The heterogeneity effect is well known for relatively large field sizes used in the conventional radiation treatments. However, this effect is not known in small fields such as the beamlets used in IMRT. There are many factors that can cause errors in the small field i.e. electronic disequilibrium and multiple electron scattering. This study prepared geometrically regular heterogeneous phantoms, and compared the measurements with the calculations using the Convolution/Superposition algorithm and Monte Carlo method for small beams. This study used the BEAM00/EGS4 code to simulate the head of a Varian 2300C/D. The commissioning of a 6MV photon beam were performed from two points of view, the beam profiles and depth doses. The calculated voxel size was 1${\times}$1${\times}$2$\textrm{cm}^2$ with field sizes of 1${\times}$1$\textrm{cm}^2$, 2${\times}$2$\textrm{cm}^2$, and 5${\times}$5$\textrm{cm}^2$. The XiOTM TPS (Treatment Planning System) was used for the calculation using the Convolution/Superposition algorithm. The 6MV photon beam was irradiated to homogeneous (water equivalent) and heterogeneous phantoms (water equivalent + air cavity, water equivalent + bone equivalent). The beam profiles were well matched within :t1 mm and the depth doses were within ${\pm}$2%. In conclusion, the dose calculations of the Convolution/Superposition and Monte Carlo simulations showed good agreement with the film measurements in the small field.

The offshore plant crews that were commissioned in the commercial startup phase boarded the offshore plant in two shifts until the end of the project. The crews who were hired by the owner side stayed in the original offshore plant during the project. However, most of the offshore plant commissioned members who were dispatched from the shipyard were accommodated in the offshore accommodation barge. For this reason, they were exposed to many accidents since there are a lot of people staying in a small space. This study suggested a method for improving survival rate at offshore accommodation barge in terms of life safety. It is assumed that the fire accident among unfortunate events which take place in the offshore accommodation barge mainly occurred. So, this study analyzed the safety evacuation for offshore plant employees using fire simulation model based on both domestic and international law criteria. In particular, When fire occurs in the offshore accommodation barge, the periodically well trained crews are followed safety evacuation procedure. whereas many employees who have different background such as various occupations, cultural differences, races and nationality can be commissioned with improper evacuation behaviors. As a result, the risk will be greater than normal situation due to these inappropriate behaviors. Therefore, This study analyzed the Required Safe Escape Time (RSET) and Available Safe Escape Time (ASET). Also it was suggested the improvement of structure design and additional arrangement of safety equipment to improve the survival rate of the residents in offshore accommodation barge.

The Immersion Grating Infrared Spectrometer (IGRINS) is an unprecedentedly minimized infrared cross-dispersed echelle spectrograph with a high-resolution and high-sensitivity optical performance. A silicon immersion grating features the instrument for the first time in this field. IGRINS will cover the entire portion of the wavelength range between 1.45 and $2.45{\mu}m$ accessible from the ground in a single exposure with spectral resolution of 40,000. Individual volume phase holographic (VPH) gratings serve as cross-dispersing elements for separate spectrograph arms covering the H and K bands. On the 2.7m Harlan J. Smith telescope at the McDonald Observatory, the slit size is $1^{\prime\prime}{\times}15^{\prime\prime}$. IGRINS has a $0.27^{\prime\prime}$ pixel-1 plate scale on a $2048{\times}2048$ pixel Teledyne Scientific & Imaging HAWAII-2RG detector with SIDECAR ASIC cryogenic controller. The instrument includes four subsystems; a calibration unit, an input relay optics module, a slit-viewing camera, and nearly identical H and K spectrograph modules. The use of a silicon immersion grating and a compact white pupil design allows the spectrograph collimated beam size to be 25mm, which permits the entire cryogenic system to be contained in a moderately sized rectangular vacuum chamber. The fabrication and assembly of the optical and mechanical hardware components were completed in 2013. In this presentation, we describe the major design characteristics of the instrument and the early performance estimated from the first light commissioning at the McDonald Observatory.
In recent years, the radiotherapy equipment has become much more sophisticated, and with the complication comes an increased set of quality assurance (QA) responsibilities. Today's computer controlled linear accelerator requiring QA of not only the radiation integrity, but also the mechanical accuracy of the linear accelerator. The existing QA sheets are adequate for acceptance testing and commissioning but those sheets are somewhat descriptive form for routine QA. establishing the QA sheets for a facility are more efficient if the sheets could estimate the long-term stability for the result of QA. We are going to develope new prototype of mechanical QA sheet to visualize and to verify long-term stability of mechanical QA for clinical linear accelerator. The items included in mechanical QA sheet were 1) gantry rotation, 2) collimator rotation, 3) couch rotation, 4) optical distance indicator (ODI), and 5) laser alignment. We compared new prototype sheet with conventional sheet for several hospitals in Korea for those items. The QA acceptance criteria in this study mainly followed published recommendations. The contents of test for mechanical QA are the following. Confirm that the digital and/or mechanical gantry angle readouts are correct. Verify that digital and/or mechanical readouts of collimator angle agree with the true angle, as determined with the protractor. Measure the light field using a graph paper and compare with the digital readouts. Confirm digital readout accuracy. Verify that the sagittal laser, the left and right lasers, and the ceiling laser intersect at the isocenter. In the design of new QA sheet, we emphasized the representation of the long-term stability of mechanical QA by using Excel program. By using the new prototype QA sheet, we simplified and visualized the mechanical QA process, and could estimate the long-term stability of mechanical error of linear accelerator.

The simulators for pump operation developed by domestic or overseas research have been developed for dynamic analysis or operator training purposes. However, previous developed simulators focused on the operators so they are unsuitable for logic designers or commissioning engineers who need to change the operation conditions or logics arbitrarily. In addition, the simulator for two or more condensate pumps' operation, which can be used easily by plant designers or operators, has not been developed. Accordingly, this paper suggests a simulation method that can be used easily for plant designers or operators using MATLAB Simulink. This suggestion helps users who can use MATLAB to implement ANSI/ISA S5.2, which is applied mainly for DCS (Distributed Control System). In addition, to implement the logics specified in the CODE, Sub-Systems were created for the block and evaluated to determine if they can be used in the simulator. In the working level stage using the suggested method, all error possibilities that might occur during the three pumps' rotation operation could be verified with the suggested simulator during the design stage or before operation.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the use of hospital, hospitalization, medical service, discharge and power of medical care patients who are concerned about moral hazard. We conducted focus group interview with 3 medical care patients and their families and 5 workers who had worked for more than 4 years in a nursing hospital. The main results and implications are as follows. First, admission to nursing hospitals was mostly based on the linkage between the medical institutions and the competition to attract the patients rather than the choice of the patients. Second, the main cause of the long-term hospitalization of medical assistance patients was the lack of social protection measures such as absences of residence and care giver, although there are factors that cause moral hazard such as low self-pay. Third, most of the patients were in need of treatment, but they were admitted to the hospital even though their needs were not higher than those of the health insurance patients. Fourth, the rehabilitation service is the mainstay of the medical service of the nursing hospital, and the roles of nursing staff and care givers are important. Fifth, medical care patients are paying medical expenses for nursing hospitals due to cost of living and family support, but they are exempted from the hospital expenses or the burden of their own expenses in the hospital. Sixth, public institutions and social welfare institutions have not managed continuously since commissioning patients to nursing hospitals and have neglected the connection with community services after discharge.

As domestic construction companies, which used to be concentrated in the Middle East, have expanded their overseas orders to new markets in Asia and Latin America, they have to cope with various conditions. The EPC plant project, which undertakes construction projects such as civil engineering and construction, design, purchase, construction and commissioning, has expanded its scope. As a result, it is important to collect Lessons Learned from the previous project, systematize it, and use it to respond to changes in the environment. However, many employees do not share their skills or experiences voluntarily. To do so, it is necessary to create and systematize a culture that shares experience and technology. In order to understand and analyze the current situation, a questionnaire was conducted on the EPC project-related departments of construction companies implementing the EPC plant project. About 74% of the participants said Lessons Learned's collection and utilization helped. About 53% of the people who collected and registered actual cases and 39% of the people who had experience in preventing problems using cases were identified as employees' perception and utilization of Lessons Learned systems. Detailed analysis showed differences in workplace, duties, and rank. Through this study, the current status of Lessons Learned collection and utilization of EPC plant projects is understood, and the research on collection and utilization improvement is being carried out.

The control circuit of the CPP applied to FFX Batch-I and LST-II may be capable of generating a backward pitch even when the grounding phenomenon occurs in the other system. The purpose of this study was to improve the CPP control circuit to maintain the pitch even in the event of grounding. Since the CPP control circuit changes the propeller angle with the voltage difference input, it has a design structure that can be vulnerable if the input voltage fluctuates instantaneously. In order to solve the above problem, a terminating resistor is applied to the end of the control wire and a signal converter is applied between the control wires, as a way to improve the CPP control circuit design. In order to verify that there is no problem in improving the CPP control circuit design, the CPP pitch change control was tested in the actual sailing commissioning with LST-II. Since the command pitch value and the feedback pitch value are very similar to each other, it is confirmed that the CPP control circuit is suitable for the control signal transmission because there is no problem in transmitting the control signal.

In this study, the technical level and competence of Chungbuk region manufactures were diagnosed and implications for efficiency improvement of cooperation with local universities were derived. The results are as follow. First, in Chungbuk area, 75% of the skilled workers are medium-skilled and high skilled workers. And the life cycle of production products was found to have entered middle/old age. In addition, the industries were overestimating its technology capabilities, including marketing and sales technology, and management technology. Therefore, local universities should develop differentiated program such as technology transfer and commercialization support so that companies can nurture new industries and it is necessary to improve understanding of reality and future prediction ability through various education and seminars. Second, universities in Chungbuk province have failed to meet the practical demands of industry by providing general educational programs such as lifelong education curriculum, rather than the practical training required by industry. First of all, industries needed the practical training programs such as human resource empowerment, technical education and workers' retraining for local industry development. In addition, industries were expected to provide relevant knowledge and infrastructure such as testing, analysis, participation in technology development such as commissioning and joint research. Therefore, universities should prepare customized Industry-Academia Cooperation Programs through industry demand survey in planning. Also, it is necessary to establish various connection points with industry to ensure that industry-academia cooperation will continue and achieve results. Third, the technology of the industries in Chungbuk province was found to be very unrelated to the next generation regional strategic industries. This is not shared vision between industry and local government, Industry-Academia Cooperation Programs will serve as a platform to organize various community entities. Universities will be able to play a key role in between industries and local governments.
The safety interval to prevent collision between trains in a train control system is based on the braking distance according to the emergency braking of the train. The evaluation of the braking performance is based on the longitudinal train dynamics or the commissioning test in the test track, but since the conditions such as the weakening of the adhesion coefficient between the wheel and rail can not all be considered, these conventional methods are not sufficient to design of the train control systems. Therefore, in this study, the Monte Carlo Method (MCM) which can consider various environments is used to analyze braking performance and limitations. The braking model is based on the air braking used in the emergency braking and is modeled to take into account the braking pressure, efficiency, friction coefficient, adhesion condition, and vehicle mass distribution. It is confirmed that braking performance can be improved by controlling the quality of braking device. In addition, the change of the braking performance was confirmed according to the vehicle constituting the train. The results of this study are expected to be used as basic information for designing safety clearance for the train control systems and as a basis for improving the braking performance of railway vehicles.
