Public research institutes in Korea have been criticized for attaching great importance to developing new technologies than actively moving them to the industry. Despite the various effort to enhance the technology transfer and commercialization by Korean government and government-funded research institutes, the gap between R&D outcome and real world application does not seem to be reduced. In this context,this study investigates a successful case of TT by a research institute. The aim of this study is to draw the factors of successful and TT which may be applied to other government funded research institute. The finding suggest marketability of technology, commercialization-oriented attitude, technology complementary assets and technological absorption capacity, matching of goals between the partenars and finally the timely utilization of public support program of commercialization are important factors.
In many universities, the Capstone Design course aims to educate creativity, teamwork and leadership, and ultimately aims to cultivate practitioners with practical ability required in the industry. Since the introduction of capstone design as a regular course, it has spread not only to engineering but also to the humanities and social sciences. A typical capstone design is usually carried out within a limited range of schedules and budgets within the scope of a major and a subject. In the case of a special-purpose capstone design, it is necessary to find out excellent items aiming at start-up and commercialization at an early stage, It contributes to the achievement of international convention participation, start-up and commercialization. The teaching styles of capstone design such as multidisciplinary capstone design, fusion capstone design, and global capstone design are developed and operated in various ways. Depending on each type, objectives, curriculum, scope of participation, operation method, performance and so on. In the case of capstone design, it is contributing to increase the achievements such as participation in international conventions, establishment of business and commercialization by early detection of excellent items aiming at start-up and commercialization, development and establishment of support process. Technological and Humanities Convergence Capstone Design Moel is named as the process of designing a four-level idea called "Idea Factory-based Technology-Humannities Fusion Capstone Design Process", and it is used to generate ideas, elaborate ideas, advanced ideas, and commercialization.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport has also been promoting the commercialization of land transport technology to commercialize the technologies owned by small and medium-sized venture companies, and to support the transfer and commercialization of public technologies. At this point, in order to improve the investment effect of subsequent new projects and to select excellent research institutes, it is necessary to establish a valid evaluation index system suitable for the purpose of the project. The evaluation index system for subsequent new projects should be linked to the project objectives and goals of the preceding project, and should be selected in consideration of existing evaluation indicators to prevent interruption of research results. Therefore, this thesis sets the evaluation index system into multiple scenarios through hierarchical cluster analysis using the evaluation result data for each evaluation committee for small and medium venture companies participating in the land transportation technology commercialization support project, and then analyzes the structural equation model. As a result of scenario analysis, considering the measurement effect of each path representing the causal relationship between evaluation indicators and the effect of each evaluation index on evaluation items, the scenario with the highest impact on the evaluation result was selected as an improvement plan.
Purpose - There is a recent social trend that is focused on the revitalization of business-founding. Business-founding now has an important impact on the progress of the national economy because of youth unemployment and an increase in baby-boom generation retirees. However, the support and infrastructure required for business-founding of the disabled are very insufficient. Since most supporting policies are on youth or middle-aged business-founding, business-founding by the disabled and the socially weak is losing competitiveness. Accordingly, this study diagnosed the issues by analyzing the current status of business-founding by the disabled and suggested a fostering direction for the advance of business-founding by the disabled. An idea for the founding of various business items is required for the competitiveness of business-founding by the disabled and the establishment of a growth-model based on marketing is required so that business-founding by the disabled would advance toward commercialization with growth potential. Research design, data, and methodology - Regarding the study method, the existing study literature on the status and issues in business-founding was mainly explored. In addition, the existing literature on the status and issues in business-founding by the disabled was also studied. The support on business-founding by the disabled by policy enforced by the 'Welfare Service Agency for the Disabled'and the support of related agencies including financial support on the commercialization of business-founding by the disabled were also examined. Results - Existing studies on business-founding by the disabled are very insufficient. It is very difficult to study a viable business-founding by the disabled fostering policy without thorough learning on the difficulties of business-founding by the disabled. Therefore, this study suggested a direction for the resolution of various issues such as market, funds, item, operational matters, and service by analyzing the difficulties in business-founding by the disabled until now. Particularly, this study suggested that building a commercialization model from the aspect of marketing strategy and the effort to change the growth aspect of the disabled into competitiveness are essential. Conclusions - This study examined the aspect of developing an item-development process for the growth and founding of disabled-owned businesses and the requirement of a government support system by multiple policies. Since the number of studies on business-founding by the disabled is very small, it is expected that this study would become an important study in the field of business-founding by the disabled. The revitalization of business-founding by the disabled substantially contributes to the progress of the state of the economy and continuous interest is required from the viewpoint of equal advance in the society. Success models in business-founding by the disabled should be created continuously and active publicizing of them to the disabled business-founders by analyzing the success cases would also be required. In addition, it is believed that a market entry strategy by way of a win-win strategy and cooperative relation with big companies should be also developed in the future.

In Korea, interest in basic research is growing, in order to ensure the sustainable competitiveness of the main industries and to support world-class technology that can create high added value in the future. However, companies are known to encounter various problems when attempting to market products based on the results of basic research, which is known to be due to their lack of experience of commercialization and related activities. Therefore, in this study, we tried to analyze the effect of the technology commercialization activity stemming from basic science and technology research on the business performance. The technology commercialization activities are divided into experience of commercialization, complete charge department, and consulting on technology commercialization and we developed an analytical model that (distinguishes between?) the technology innovation activities and technology innovation capabilities and analyzed their impact on the business performance. As a result, the importance of technology commercialization activities was confirmed by the fact that it had a positive effect on the business performance, while the technological innovation activity was found to positively affect the management performance, demonstrating that it plays a strategic role in companies. Finally, it was found that the technology innovation capacity partially influences the management performance and that it is necessary to establish a strategic research and development infrastructure.
In order to commercialize technology, Korea is continuously fostering specialized institutions for technology transfer/commercialization, and it is composed in various forms. However, there are limited studies on corporate performance according to the type of technology transfer/commercialization specialized institution and the type of support. This study aims to measure the combined utilization performance and performance of companies that have adopted the technology by classifying the types of technology transfer/commercialization specialized institutions. To this end, a study was conducted on 380 companies that promoted the introduction and use of external technologies. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the more the combined use of technology transfer/commercialization specialized institutions has a positive effect on corporate performance, and has different effects on corporate performance depending on the items of external technology introduction. In addition, it was found that the earlier the industrial growth stage is, the higher the corporate performance. Through this study, implications of strategies for the use of specialized organizations for technology transfer and commercialization and introduction of external technologies of the company were presented at the corporate level.
With UHD broadcasting commercialization accelerating, It is urgent that government has to support a necessary policy and a flexible development of culture content to effectively spread UHD TV. On May 5, 2010, Korea Communications Commission already promised to introduce UHD broadcasting system to invigorate a local broadcasting and communication market while KCC announced top-ten future services of broadcasting and communication. To its disappointment, the market has not got a great result yet. Above all, government, companies and consumers have to exchange and meditate opinions constantly to find desirable solutions. This study aims at searching for more effective and versatile application to expand UHD TV and evaluate consumer's feedback. Based on the objective data on the current situation of the world wide UHD TV distribution and specific methods for solving challengeable issues, the research will find out more active approach to inducing government support and motivating content makers. Hopefully, the study result will make a helpful suggestion for government, company and UHD content makers.

Nano-diamond (ND) was added during the carbon block preparation process to increase the thermal conductivity of the carbon block. Added ND controlled the generated pore of carbon block due to the volatilization of the binder pitch during the carbonization process. The ND was added to the kneading process of coke and binder pitch, and carbon blocks were prepared by pressing and carbonization. As the amount of added ND increased, the ND ratio of the carbon block increased. The added ND made a pass-way for generated gas by volatilizing the binder pitch during the carbonization process, increasing the density of the carbon block and reducing the porosity. The thermal conductivity of the carbon block was improved by increased density, lowered porosity, and the high thermal conductivity of added ND.

There is a growing interest in the technology transfer and commercialization both at home and abroad. Accordingly, this study looked at the concept of technology transfer and commercialization, identified the factors that should be taken into account in order to facilitate technology transfer and commercialization, and then performed a empirical analysis. As for the conventional technology transfer and commercialization, there was a tendency to limit its scope to the exploration, transfer and commercialization of technology itself. Here in this research, technology transfer and commercialization is defined the category to expand as various activities implemented in order to make sure that intellectual properties such as intangible technological developments, know-how, and knowledge are transferred between the relevant parties through a contract or negotiation, and the party to which the transfer is made can then further develop and exploit the technology into tangible products and other activities to obtain economic benefit out of that. In addition, the findings of the positive analysis of technology transfer and commercialization revealed that the focus of facilitating technology transfer has been on the technology itself, its management and securing efficiency of the systems and institutions involved in the technology transfer and commercialization. So there was lack of recognition as to the importance of financial support given to the phase of technology commercialization. This indicates that when it comes to the technology transfer and commercialization, quantitative performance has been the focus of interest such as patent application, registration, number of technology transfers, royalty, etc. So there was not enough understanding as to the issues of starting up a business, creating quality jobs through technology transfer and commercialization, which are directly related to the realization of the creative economy. In this regard, this research is expected to be used for the development for the future policies to boost technology transfer and commercialization as it suggests not only simply ensuring quantitative performance but also necessary to create the environment for the creation of the stable ecosystem for the parties involved in the technology transfer and commercialization and then to build circumstances in which creative economy can be realized.
