공연비 변화가 MILD 연소 특성에 미치는 영향에 관한 해석적 연구 (A numerical study of the air fuel ratio effect on the combustion characteristics in a MILD combustor)

  • 연소과정 중에 발생하는 질소산화물을 저감하는 기술인 MILD 연소에 대하여 공연비를 변화시키면서 나타나는 연소 특성을 수치해석을 통하여 연구하였다. 작은 크기의 공기분출속도(10 m/s)에서는 공기가 연소로 내 상부영역까지 침투하지 못한다. 반면에 공기분출속도가 30 m/s인 경우에는 공기유동이 연료유동을 억제하고 상부영역까지 흘러간다. 이론공기량에 해당하는 공기분출속도 18 m/s에서는 10 m/s 보다 상대적으로 상부영역까지 침투하였다. 이러한 유동 양상으로 공기분출속도가 작은 10 m/s에서는 연소반응대가 공기노즐 측에 치우쳐 나타나고 30 m/s에서는 연료노즐 측에 형성되었다. 공기분출속도 16, 18, 20 m/s에서는 공기노즐과 연료노즐 중간 영역에서 연소반응대가 형성되었다. 연소로 내 최대온도와 NOx 생성은 공기분출속도가 10 m/s, 30 m/s인 경우 보다 이론공기량이거나 이에 가까운 16, 18, 20 m/s에서 낮게 나타났다. 본 연구로부터 MILD 연소로에서 이론공기량 조건이 NOx를 저감하는 최적의 조건이라는 것을 밝혔다.

슬러지 순산소 유동층 연소특성 (Combustion Characteristics of Waste Sewage Sludge using Oxy-fuel Circulating Fluidized Bed)

  • 순환유동층 모사장치와 $30kW_{th}$급 파일럿 연소기를 활용하여 슬러지 순산소 유동층 연소특성을 살펴보았다. 순환유동층 모사실험에서 최소유동화속도($U_{mf}$)는 0.120 m/s로 계산되었고, 고속유동화를 위한 공탑속도는 2.5 m/s 이상으로 결정되었다. 파일럿 연소실험에서는 일반공기 및 21~40% 순산소 연소실험이 수행되었다. 배출가스 온도의 경우 21~25% 순산소 연소가 일반공기 및 30% 이상의 순산소 연소보다 상대적으로 높았다. 또한, 배출가스 중 $CO_2$ 배출농도가 21~25% 순산소 연소 범위에서 80% 이상으로 나타났다. 이를 고려한 전반적인 연소특성을 살펴 보았을 때 25% 순산소 연소가 본 슬러지 연료 연소에 대한 장시간 운전에 있어 보다 적합한 것으로 사료된다.

건타입 버너의 토출공기에 대한 선회기의 스월 수 영향 (Effect of the Swirl Number of Spinner on the Exhaust Air of the Gun Type Burner)

  • Swirl flow in the gun type burner has an impact on the stabilization of the flame, improvement of the combustion efficiency. The swirl flow is created by the spinner which is inside the airtube that guide the combustion air. Gun type burner has generally the inner devices composed electronic spark plug, injection nozzle, combustion device adaptor, and spinner. These inner components change the air flow behavior passing through airtube. So, this study conducted the measurement using by hot-wire anemometer and analyzed effect of the swirl number of spinner on the exhaust air of gun type burner. Turbulence characteristics come up in this study was mean velocity, turbulence intensity, kinetic energy, shear stress and flattness factor of the air flow with the change of the distance of axial direction and tangential direction from the exit of the airtube.

PIV/OH PLIF 동시측정을 이용한 난류 대향 분출 예혼합화염 구조 연구 (Structure of Turbulent Premixed Opposed Impinging Jet Flame with Simultaneous PIV/OH PLIF Measurements)

  • The subject of turbulent premixed flames has been focused by many researchers for a number of decades. Especially, Borghi suggested a magnificent diagram classifying turbulent combustion areas and Lipatnikov and Chomiak modified this diagram. Recently, experimental techniques have been developed so that we can use PIV for measuring 2D velocity field and apply OH PLIF techniques for obtaining flame locations. In present study, a new diagram is proposed using strain rates and OH signal intensity. Thus, simultaneous PIV and OH PLIF measurements are used for shear strain rates and flame locations, respectively. It is believed that the shear strain rates represent flow characteristics such as turbulence intensity and the OH intensity indicates the flame characteristics such as burning velocities.

  • 본 논문에서는 소비톨과 질산칼륨을 이용한 고체추진제의 연소특성을 파악하였다. 여러 연소실험을 통하여 연소속도를 구하고 비추력과 특성배기속도를 이론값과 비교하였다. 추력 측정은 판스프링을 이용한 추력측정장치를 이용하였다. 추진제의 성분비를 변경하면서 실험을 하였으며, 실험값을 바탕으로한 고체추진제의 연소특성은 1mm 노즐의 마이크로 고체로켓의 설계 파라미터로 이용되었다.

  • This paper conducted experimental study of turbulent diffusion flame, equipped with a unique double swirler combustor for gas fuel. The burner has two vane swirlers which are fitted to primary, secondary air channel. Temperature, and NOx emission concentrations are measured in combustion flame region and velocity in cold flow for various primary/secondary air ratio conditions. The results showed the characteristics of swirl flame and decreasing NOx concentrations with increasing primary/secondary air ratio.

  • The catalytic heat exchanger, which integrates two functions of heat generation and heat exchange into one equipment, was designed and its characteristics were investigated by the experiment and numerical simulation. The surface of the fin tube was deposited with Pd catalyst. The conversion of the mixture in the catalytic heat exchanger was more significantly affected by the inlet velocity of the mixture than by the inlet temperature and equivalence ratio of the mixture. It was found that the catalytic surface area of the fin tubes should be sufficiently increased to make the combustion intensity of the catalytic heat exchanger as high as possible. Results showed that the fin tubes, placed in the triangularly staggered form, should be adjusted so that the mixture flows uniformly over all the catalytic fin surfaces. Numerical simulation results demonstrated that the flow pattern of the mixture significantly affected the conversion of the mixture.

동축분류 확산화염에서 화염안정화와 연소특성에 관한 연구 (An Experimental Study on Flame Stability and Combustion Characteristics of Coaxial Diffusion Flame)

  • A study for the flame stability and the combustion characteristics of coaxial diffusion flame was conducted. The fuel employed was natural gas. The experimental variables were rim thickness of fuel tube, blockage ratio of the outer diameter of fuel tube to the inner diameter of air tube, and momentum ratio of fuel to air. It was consequently found that the stability in the neighborhood of the fuel rim depended on the rim thickness, especially in the case of above 3 mm, and that the stable region of the flame extended remarkably due to the formation of recirculation zone above rim. The effect of the blockage ratio on the flame stability was found to be minor in the case of above 3 mm of rim thickness. Between the momentum ratio 2 and 3, the stable flame zone was widely established as well good combustion. With increasing the fuel-air momentum ratio, axial velocity, turbulence intensity, and Reynolds stress increased.

고효율 순산소 버너의 연소 특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental study on combustion characteristics of high efficiency oxy-fuel burner)

  • This paper describes the results of a series of experiments executed by using two pilot-scale oxv-fuel burners are designed for maximum capacity of 50,000 kacl/hr, 300,000 kcal/hr and installed in the test furnace. The effects of turn-down ratio, excess oxygen ratio, nozzle exit velocity, injection angle, swirl vane angle and inlet oxygen temperature on the combustion characteristic are investigated. Temperature distributions are measured using R-type and Molybdenum sheathed C-type thermocouple. The results showed that maximum temperature and mean temperature increase with the increase of turn-down ratio and inlet oxygen temperature. The maximum flame temperature was increased about 35% compared to the case of equivalent air operated condition. In addition, Optimum excess oxygen ratio and nozzle characteristics are obtained for this oxy-fuel glass melting furnace.

미연혼합기의 난류특성과 이중분류버너화염의 연소특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An experimental study on turbulence characteristics of mixture and combustion characteristics of doubled jet burner flames)

  • Premixed flame is better than diffusion flame to accomplish a high loading combustion. Since the turbulent characteristics of unburned mixture has a great influence on the flame structure, it is general that many researchers realize a high loading combustion with strengthening turbulent intensity of unburned mixture. Because turbulent premixed flame reacts efficiently on the condition of distributed reaction region, we made high turbulent premixed flame in the doubled impingement field. We investigated turbulent characteristics of unburned mixture with increasing shear force and visualized flames with direct and Schlieren photographs. And the combustion characteristics of flame was elucidated by instantaneous temperature measurement with a thermocouple, by ion currents with a micro electrostatic probe, by radical luminescence intensity and local equivalence ratio. Extremely strong turbulent of small scale is generated by impingement of mixture, and turbulent intensity of unburned mixture increased with the mean velocity. As a result of direct photographs, visible region of flame became longer due to increasing central direction flux. But as strengthed turbulent intensity, visible region of flame turned to shorter and reaction occurred efficiently. As strengthened turbulent intensity of mixture with increasing flux of central direction, maximum fluctuating temperature region moved to radial direction and fluctuation of temperature became lower. The reason is influx of central direction which caused flame zone to move toward radial direction, to maintain flame zone stable and to make flame scale smaller.
