Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report the improvement in patients with knee pain by the instrumentality of needle-embedding therapy. Methods : We treated 5 patients who have a disease related with osteoarthitis of the knee by needle-embedding therapy combined with Korean medical treatment. We checked numeric rating scale(NRS) and Western Ontario and McMaster Universities index(WOMAC index). Results : NRS and WOMAC index were decreased at all cases. Conclusions : This study shows needle-embedding therapy has a medical effect when applied on osteoarthritis of the knee.

Objectives : This is a case series reporting of the improvement in patients with a lumbar herniated intervertebral disc by means of acupotomy combined with oriental medicine. Methods : We treated seven patients with a lumbar herniated intervertebral disc with acupotomy combined with oriental medical treatment. We checked the numeric rating scale(NRS), oswestry low back pain disability index(ODI) and range of motion(ROM). Results : NRS and ODI decreased, and ROM improved in all cases. Conclusions : This study shows acupotomy has a meaningful effect when applied on a lumbar herniated intervertebral disc.

The purpose of this study was to report the effect of a combination of Sa-am five-element acupuncture and eight-principle pharmacopuncture (EPP) for the treatment of an essential tremor (ET). This study reviewed the medical records treated at OO Korean medical hospital for ET by using diverse types of acupuncture without herbal medicine, other types of physical therapy, and western medication related ET or Parkinson's disease and was performed after the approval of the institutional review board (IRB). The three cases that were finally selected were then extracted and reviewed. The three cases that were finally selected involved three women in their 70s to 80s. The evaluation of the progress was made by using the numeric rating scale. A combined treatment, the method of liver excess (肝乘格), from among Sa-am five-element acupuncture, and Hwangyeonhaedoktang EPP at CV23 and CV17, was applied to all cases. In all three cases, the ET was improved, and recurred ETs improved with the same treatment. The results suggest that the combined treatment of Sa-am five-element acupuncture and Hwangyeon-haedoktang EPP may be effective for treating an ET, even though this conclusion is based on only three cases.

In this paper, the control algorithm and control methods for a combined system of shunt passive filter and series active filter in 3-phase 4-wire system are discussed. Moreover, the 3-phase 4-wire system is widely employed in distributing electric energy to several office building and manufacturing plants. In such systems, the third harmonic and odd multiples of $3^{rd}$($9^{th}$, $15^{th}$, etc.) are termed as triple and zero sequence components that do not cancel each other in the system neutral. As a result, the triple harmonics add together creating a primary source of excessive neutral current. Regarding this concern, this paper presents a new control scheme for a series hybrid active system. This series active power filter acts not only as a harmonic compensator but also as a harmonic isolator. Hence the required rating of the series active filter is much smaller than that of a conventional shunt active filter. However, the performance of the combined system is greatly influenced by the filtering algorithm employed in the active power filter. This paper proposes a series active power filter scheme based on performance function. Some experiments was executed and experimental results from a prototype active power filter confirm the suitability of the proposed approach.

In this study, combined sewer overflows (CSOs) from five independent rainfall events in rural city area were collected and investigated. First flush effect in sewage pumping station located near the WWTP was retarded 30 to 60 minutes from booster pumping station. The ratios between SS, COD and TP concentrations prior to rainfall and peak concentrations during the period of rainfall were highly increased but nitrogen was relatively constant, which indicates that it is not associated with particles washed off from the surface of watershed. Mass balance results show that 30% of CSO was generated from booster pump station and 66.5% of CSO was from the whole runoff area. In the area of newly constructed sewer system, CSO problem was related with pump and sewer capacities, but in other old sewer system equipped area, it was due to the collection efficiency. Finally, Log-Log pollutant rating equations were suggested.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of neck stabilization exercise combined with vibroacoustic sound on patients with chronic neck pain and tension-type headache. Design: Two group pre test - post test design. Methods: 36 patients participated. Headache impact test-6(HIT-6), numerical rating scale(NRS) and muscle characteristics were measured at pre-post test. Participants divided into vibroacoustic sound group(VSG, n=18), control group(CG, n=18). VSG performed neck stabilization exercise and vibroacoustic sound stimulation. CG performed neck stabilization exercise. Both groups participated 3 times a week for a total of 4 weeks. Results: NRS showed a significant difference before and after intervention in both groups (p<0.05). HIT-6 showed a significant difference before and after intervention in the VSG group (p<0.05). Muscle tone showed a significant difference before and after intervention in the experimental group (p<0.05). There was no significant difference in muscle stiffness and muscle elasticity before and after the intervention in both groups (p>0.05). Conclusions: Based on the results of the study, it is thought that sonic vibroacoustic sound can be established as an effective treatment tool through a study applied to various diseases and symptoms.

This case study reports the clinical effect of Korean medicine treatment on vascular disease of spinal cord. A 58-year-old female patient was diagnosed as vascular disease of spinal cord and treated with combined Korean medicine treatment such as acupuncture, electro-acupuncture, herbal medication, and physical therapy for 16 days. The patient was assessed for International Standard for Neurological Classification of Spinal Cord Injury (ISNCSCI), Berg Balance Scale (BBS), and Numeral Rating Scale (NRS). After treatment, total scores of ISNCSCI, BBS, and NRS were numerically improved. Also symptoms of neurogenic bladder were improved. This study suggests that Korean medicine treatment could be effective treatment for vascular disease of spinal cord.

Objectives: This case is to report the effect of TMJ balancing therapy (TBT) and combined Korean Medicine (CKM) on a 15-year-old male patient with suspected cervical dizziness of unknown causes. Methods: He was treated with TBT and CKM included Yin-yang Balancing Therapy of TMJ, pelvic balancing therapy, cervical chuna therapy once a week for 3 months. He continued to wear accurate balancing appliance (ABA) in the mouth, did 12-way cervical gravity straightening exercise and took banhabakchulchunma-tang-gamibang for 3 months. The effects of treatment was evaluated using the numerical rating scale (NRS). Results: After the treatments, dizziness was relieved from NRS 7 to NRS 1. Conclusions: This case report suggests that TBT and CKM treatments can relieve suspected cervical dizziness of unknown causes.

개인에게 맞춤형 서비스를 제공하는 것이 중요해지면서 개인화 추천 시스템 관련 연구들이 끊임없이 이루어지고 있다. 추천 시스템 중 협업 필터링은 학계 및 산업계에서 가장 많이 사용되고 있다. 다만 사용자들의 평점 혹은 사용 여부와 같은 정량적인 정보에 국한하여 추천이 이루어져 정확도가 떨어진다는 문제가 제기되고 있다. 이와 같은 문제를 해결하기 위해 현재까지 많은 연구에서 정량적 정보 외에 다른 정보들을 활용하여 추천 시스템의 성능을 개선하려는 시도가 활발하게 이루어지고 있다. 리뷰를 이용한 감성 분석이 대표적이지만, 기존의 연구에서는 감성 분석의 결과를 추천 시스템에 직접적으로 반영하지 못한다는 한계가 있다. 이에 본 연구는 리뷰에 나타난 감성을 수치화하여 평점에 반영하는 것을 목표로 한다. 즉, 사용자가 직접 작성한 리뷰를 감성 수치화하여 정량적인 정보로 변환해 추천 시스템에 직접 반영할 수 있는 새로운 알고리즘을 제안한다. 이를 위해서는 정성적인 정보인 사용자들의 리뷰를 정량화 시켜야 하므로, 본 연구에서는 텍스트 마이닝의 감성 분석 기법을 통해 감성 수치를 산출하였다. 데이터는 영화 리뷰를 대상으로 하여 도메인 맞춤형 감성 사전을 구축하고, 이를 기반으로 리뷰의 감성점수를 산출한다. 본 논문에서 사용자 리뷰의 감성 수치를 반영한 협업 필터링이 평점만을 고려하는 전통적인 방식의 협업 필터링과 비교하여 우수한 정확도를 나타내는 것을 확인하였다. 이후 제안된 모델이 더 개선된 방식이라고 할 근거를 확보하기 위해 paired t-test 검증을 시도했고, 제안된 모델이 더 우수하다는 결론을 도출하였다. 본 연구에서는 평점만으로 사용자의 감성을 판단한 기존의 선행연구들이 가지는 한계를 극복하고자 리뷰를 수치화하여 기존의 평점 시스템보다 사용자의 의견을 더 정교하게 추천 시스템에 반영시켜 정확도를 향상시켰다. 이를 기반으로 추가적으로 다양한 분석을 시행한다면 추천의 정확도가 더 높아질 것으로 기대된다.

The purpose of this research is to show the effectiveness of spinal stenosis treated by Hominis Placenta Megadose pharmacopuncture combined with Korean medicine treatment. We used Hominis Placenta Megadose pharmacopuncture treatment on patients who received treatment at Bucheon Jaseng Korean medicine hospital from March, 2016 to October, 2016. Also we checked Numeric Rating Scale(NRS), Oswestry low back pain Disability Index(ODI) to follow the scale showing the improvement of the symptoms of the patients. All 4 patients showed the improvement of NRS, ODI scales. This research suggests Hominis Placenta Megadose pharmacopuncture combined with Korean medicine treatment can help treat spinal stenosis.
