DGPS와 기계시각을 이용한 자율주행 콤바인의 개발 (Development of Autonomous Combine Using DGPS and Machine Vision)

  • A navigation system was developed for autonomous guidance of a combine. It consisted of a DGPS, a machine vision system, a gyro sensor and an ultrasonic sensor. For an autonomous operation of the combine, target points were determined at first. Secondly, heading angle and offset were calculated by comparing current positions obtained from the DGPS with the target points. Thirdly, the fuzzy controller decided steering angle by the fuzzy inference that took 3 inputs of heading angle, offset and distance to the bank around the rice field. Finally, the hydraulic system was actuated for the combine steering. In the case of the misbehavior of the DGPS, the machine vision system found the desired travel path. In this way, the combine traveled straight paths to the traget point and then turned to the next target point. The gyro sensor was used to check the turning angle. The autonomous combine traveled within 31.11cm deviation(RMS) on the straight paths and harvested up to 96% of the whole rice field. The field experiments proved a possibility of autonomous harvesting. Improvement of the DGPS accuracy should be studied further by compensation variations of combines attitude due to unevenness of the rice field.

  • This study was intended to develop the system which controls header height of combine automatically by means of sensing the difference between the header and the ground surface. A micro-computer was used for the controller. The sensing unit designed for the study was composed of potentiometer, oscillating link, and gage wheel. An electric-hydraulic circuit was driven by microcomputer to control header height of combine. Performance of the control system was tested by computer simulation, stationary operation of header, and traveling on the simulated ground.

  • This study was performed to develop an automatic sacking device for the combine harvester which was constituted input/output signal system, controller, delivery device, shooting device, pneumatic system for shooting operation, vibration device fer sacking operation and a new developed sacking bag. A new developed automatic sacking device and new sacking bag were operated well in general. And they were possible to develop a new combine to reduce of fatigue, to improve the safety and the performance. In developed device, The optimum delivery velocity of conveyer for sacking was 5.16 mm/sec. In sacking device, sacking discharge was shown 94% with non-vibration condition and sacking discharge was shown 99% with vibration condition, respectively.

  • The amount of grain loss incurred during harvesting operation through the chaff-outlet of combine may not be negligible. To minimize this grain loss and optimize condition of combining, it may be necessary that the amount of chaff-outlet loss dependent on varying crop condition is to be estimated as exactly as possible. This study was thus intended to develop the monitor that could indicate the amount of grain loss occurred through the chaff-outlet of combine during harvesting operation. The function of this monitor is to measure at the sounding board the impact sound of paddy kernels which could be distinguished from those of other threshing products through chaff-outlet, and from vibration or noise created by the combine engine and other moving parts. To develop such monitor, the frequency distributions of each sound generated by the impact of grain and chaff, the sound generated by the impact of the mixture of grain and chaff, and vibration or noise created by the combine engine and other moving parts were investigated experimentally. From the results of frequency analyses, the trainsducer adequate for the monitering system was selected and sounding board was constructed. The grain loss monitor thus obtained was tested by attaching the sounding board to the chaff-outlet of combine.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a measurement system of cutter conditions for combine header diagnosis during rice harvesting. A load cell was installed at the locker-arm to measure load fluctuation and an acceleration senor was used to monitor vibration signal of cutter bar. The data were collected from a paddy field during harvesting. The tests were conducted with a normal cutter, a loosened cutter, a broken cutter, and a worn-out connecter pin at the field. The vibration signals converted by FFT (Fast Fourier Transformation), filtered, and normalized. The load data and peak values of vibration signals in four different frequency ranges were used to determine the cutting operation and the cutter conditions of combine. The multiple comparison tests showed that the load data and peak values of vibration signals were important to monitor the cutting operation and cutter conditions of combine header.

하둡 플랫폼을 이용한 대량의 스몰파일 처리방법 (Processing Method of Mass Small File Using Hadoop Platform)

  • 하둡(Hadoop)은 맵리듀스(MapReduce) 분산처리 프로그래밍 모델과 HDFS(Hadoop distributed file system) 분산 파일시스템으로 구성된다. 하둡은 빅데이터 처리에 적합한 프레임워크로서, 대량의 스몰파일 처리에 문제점이 있다. 하둡에서 대량의 스몰파일 처리는 하나의 파일마다 매퍼가 생성되며, 파일의 메타정보를 저장하기 위해 많은 메모리가 필요한 문제점이 있다. 본 논문은 하둡 플랫폼에서 다양한 방법으로 대량의 스몰파일 처리방법을 비교 검토하였다. 일반 압축은 데이터의 크기와 상관없이 하나의 매퍼로 처리해야 하기 때문에, 하둡 처리 포맷으로 적절하지 않다. 시퀀스 와 하둡 아카이브 파일의 처리는 스몰파일을 압축 및 병합을 통해 네임노드의 메모리 문제가 제거되었다. 하둡 아카이브 파일은 스몰파일의 병합시간이 시퀀스 파일보다 빠른 속도를 보였다. CombineFileInputFormat 클래스를 이용한 처리는 병합과정이 필요 없으며, 빅데이터 처리방법과 유사한 속도를 보였다.

  • This study was carried out to obtain the information needed in the development of forward speed control system and the improvement of combine performance. The effects of variety, grain moisture content and forward speed on the combine load characteristics were investigated through experiments. The results of this study are summarized as follows. 1. A data acquisition system was developed to measure the engine speed and the torques and speeds of the threshing cylinder, dean-grain auger and tailings-return auger. The system consisted of transducers, signal conditioner, interface board and microcomputer. The system accuracy is better than ${\pm}2.3%$ full scale. 2. Linear regression equations were obtained for the torque, speed and power requirement of threshing cylinder for different paddy varieties, grain moisture contents and feed rates. 3. The maximum value of relative frequency for threshing cylinder torque decreased as the increase in feed rate and moisture content. The range of torque fluctuation was 1.2~3.7 and 1.2~1.9 times the average and maximum torque, respectively. The maximum value of power spectrum density (PSD) appeared to be about 11 Hz regardless of paddy variety, grain moisture content and feed rate. 4. The speed of tailings return thrower decreased rapidly at below 900rpm, and it fell to near zero about 3 seconds after that time. When the travelling of combine harvester was stopped immediately after sensing the overload, it took about 7 seconds for a full recovery of the no-load speed of tailings return thrower.

수호손실과 도정수율을 기초로 한 벼의 수호적기결정에 관한 연구 (Determination of Optimum Timing of Paddy Harvesting Based on Grain Loss and Milling Quality)

  • This experimental work was conducted in order to find out the optimum time of harvest of Japonica-type(Akibare) and Indica-type(Tong-il) rice variety for three harvesting systems by investigating the harvestirg losses and milling quality. The study was also concerned atout the nature and amount of grain losses incurred during the each sequence of post-harvest technologies, and based on these results, a modification of existing systems giving a minimum grain loss was attempted. Binder, combine, and traditional harvesting systems were tested in this study and five grain moisture levels were disposed according to the decrease of grain moisture. The results are summarized as follows: 1. The total losses of Akibare variety were ranged from 1.1 to 1.5 per cent for the traditional harvesting system, 2.1 to 4.8 percent for the harvesting system by use of binder, and 2.8 to 4.3 percent for the harvesting system by use of combine as the grain moisture content was reduced from 24 to 15 per cent. Milling recovery of the harvesting system by use of binder, 74.8~ 75.7 percent, was a little higher as it was compared to that of traditional harvesting system, 74. 3~75. 0 percent, and that of the harvesting system by use of combine, 73.8~ 75.0 per cent. Head rice recovery of mechanically dried paddy samples was higher than that of sun-dried paddy samples. 2. The total losses of Tong-il variety were ranged from 3.8 to 5.0 per cent for the traditional harvesting system, 5.2 to 10.0 percent for the system by use of binder, and 3.0 to 5.0 perent for the system by use of combine as the grain moisture was reduced from 28 to 16 percent.

자탈형 콤바인의 실시간 벼 수확량 예측 시스템 개발 (Development of Rice Yield Prediction System of Head-Feed Type Combine Harvester)

  • The yield is basic and necessary information in precision agriculture that reduces input resources and enhances productivity. Yield information is important because it can be used to set up farming plans and evaluate farming results. Yield monitoring systems are commercialized in the United States and Japan but not in Korea. Therefore, such a system must be developed. This study was conducted to develop a yield monitoring system that improved performance by correcting a previously developed flow sensor using a grain tank-weighing system. An impact-plated type flow sensor was installed in a grain tank where grains are placed, and grain tank-weighing sensors were installed under the grain tank to estimate the weight of the grain inside the tank. The grain flow rate and grain weight prediction models showed high correlations, with coefficient of determinations (R2) of 0.9979 and 0.9991, respectively. A main controller of the yield monitoring system that calculated the real-time yield using a sensor output value was also developed and installed in a combine harvester. Field tests of the combine harvester yield monitoring system were conducted in a rice paddy field. The developed yield monitoring system showed high accuracy with an error of 0.13%. Therefore, the newly developed yield monitoring system can be used to predict grain weight with high accuracy.

콤바인 원격 모니터링을 위한 게이트웨이 설계 및 개발 (Design and Implementation of the Gateway for Remote Monitoring a Combine)

  • The objective of this study was to design and implement a gateway for remote monitoring a combine. Many researchers have designed and implemented trouble-shooting system of agricultural machine. but the system didn't have network system or used wired network system. But monitoring machine have been operated in the out of door. In such an environment, each machine have to be operated under on a guarantee of mobility and stability. Thus, we have developed a gateway with an embedded system including the XScale PXA255 processor and wireless network device. We have also built an embedded Linux kernel and several devices. We developed an embedded application for monitoring a combine and this application is also capable of receiving signals from other clients and sending them to a server via Wireless LAN. Finally, results of performance evaluation which measured CPU share and memory sizes have shown that it is possible to provide monitoring service stably.
