올림픽 개최국가 유니폼의 색채 특성과 이미지 (The Color Characteristics and Image of the Olympic Host Country's Uniforms)

  • Today the Olympics are considered representative of a culture that symbolizes the country's image and cultural specificity, and important colors act as effective means of Olympics marketing. Each color is unique to the natural environment and cultural heritage is one of the languages of each country, region or community and it symbolizes. Hence, the purpose of this study was to examine the color and to view the color image displayed on Olympic uniforms based on the national color sensibility. After analyzing the color image of the Olympic athletes, including six kinds of uniforms and operational personnel, a cool casual/casual image is created more frequently, followed by a modern, gorgeous, dynamic, elegant/chic, dandy/classic image. The uniform color is consistent with the national image and the theme of the Pyeongchang Olympics is to enhance the country's competitiveness by widely promoting the national image of Korea around the world. Furthermore, it is necessary to provide the empirical basis for creating the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympic uniforms.

서라운드시스템을 위한 가상 음상정위 알고리즘 (Virtual Sound Localization algorithm for Surround Sound Systems)

  • In this paper, we propose a virtual sound localization algorithm which improves the sound localization accuracy and sound color preservation for two channel and multi-channel surround speaker layouts. In conventional CPP laws, the sound direction is different from the panning angle and the sound color is different from real sound source especially when the speakers are spread out widely. To overcome this drawback, we design a virtual sound localization algorithm using directional psychoacoustic criteria (DPC) and sound color compensator (SCC). The analysis results show that in the case of the proposed system, the sound direction is the same as the panning angle in the audible frequency range and the sound color is less deviated from a real sound source than the conventional CPP law. In addition, its performance is verified by means of subjective tests using a real sound source.

  • 본 논문에서는 k-Means 클러스터링을 활용한 컬러 기반 이미지 추출을 통한 색각 검사 방안 연구를 진행한다. 이를 위해, RGB 컬러스페이스 기반의 이미지를 특별한 컬러스페이스 이미지로 변환 후 컬러 패턴 분포에 따라 k-Means 클러스터링을 적용하여 다양한 형태의 이미지를 추출하는 실험을 수행한다. 위의 실험을 통해 하나의 이미지를 컬러 분포 패턴을 통해 클러스터링하여 이미지를 추출을 통하여 정상인과 색각 이상자를 판별할 수 있었다. 실험 결과, 다양한 형태와 색을 가진 이미지를 추출하여 정상인이 보는 이미지와 색각 이상자가 보는 이미지가 다른 것을 확인하였다.

  • Hot-dip galvanized steel(GI) is widely used throughout the industry as a corrosion resistance material. Corrosion of steel is a common phenomenon that results in the gradual degradation under various environmental conditions. Corrosion monitoring is to track the degradation progress for a long time. Corrosion on steel plate appears as discoloration and any irregularities on the surface. This study developed a quantitative evaluation method of the rust formed on GI steel plate using a superpixel-based DBSCAN clustering method and k-means clustering from the corroded area in a given image. The superpixel-based DBSCAN clustering method decrease computational costs, reaching automatic segmentation. The image color of the rusty surface was analyzed quantitatively based on HSV(Hue, Saturation, Value) color space. In addition, two segmentation methods are compared for the particular spatial region using their histograms.

방향성 기반 보간법과 비지역 평균 필터링에 의한 효과적인 CFA 영상 디모자이킹 알고리즘 (Effective Demosaicking Algorithm for CFA Images using Directional Interpolation and Nonlocal Means Filtering)

  • 본 논문에서는 단일 센서 기기를 통해 획득된 CFA (color filter array) 영상의 효과적인 디모자이킹(demosaicking)을 위하여 방향성 기반 보간법과 영상의 비지역 특성을 이용하는 방법을 제안한다. G 채널을 복원하기 위하여 수직 및 수평방향 뿐만 아니라 대각선 방향을 고려하고, 영상의 지역적 특성을 위하여 비교적 적은 수의 픽셀을 이용하여 보간한다. 이후, 영상의 비지역적 특성을 반영하여 에지 근처에서의 복원능력 및 색상오류 등에 의한 화질열화를 개선하기 위하여 보간된 픽셀에 NLM (nonlocal means) 필터링을 적용한다. R과 B 채널은 이미 복원된 G 채널의 정보를 이용하여 방향성 기반 보간법 및 NLM 필터링을 적용하여 복원한다. 채도가 높고 색상변화가 비교적 큰 McMaster 영상에 대해서 수행한 실험결과는 제안하는 디모자이킹 방법이 기존의 방법에 비해 PSNR 기반의 객관적 성능평가 결과가 우수하고, 주관적 화질 측면에서 에지 및 텍스처와 같은 영상의 구조를 잘 보존하고 색상오류 등과 같은 왜곡현상을 감소시켜 우수한 성능을 나타냄을 알 수 있다.

OLED 소자의 수명 평가법에 관한 연구 (A study on the method of OLED device's lifetime test)

  • According to the Korea Agency for Technology and Standards under the Commerce Ministry, OLED device's lifetime is defined 50% drop of luminance. OLED device is self-emitting operating device, that means it becomes different color between pixels under using environment. That's reason of the different luminance drop ratio & chromaticity coordinates shift ratio with time. The problem is there is not recovered after luminance drop and color shift. We can recognize the difference of color as image sticking. First we studied when human recognize the difference of color and second we apply the method of OLED device's lifetime test that's able to check different color between pixels.

  • 본 논문에서는 칼라특징공간별로 슈퍼픽셀의 특성을 비교하였다. 슈퍼픽셀은 특성이 비슷한 인접 화소들을 묶어서 하나의 큰 화소로 취급하는 것으로 고속영상처리 및 인식을 위해 사용한다. 본 연구에서는 칼라특징공간별로 슈퍼픽셀을 구하여 각각의 특징을 비교하고자 한다. 비교할 특징은 슈퍼 픽셀의 중요한 특징인 밀집성(compactness)사용한다. 실험에 사용한 영상은 버클리대학교의 영상분할 데이터베이스인 BSD-300영상을 사용하여 실험하였다.

고려 초 공복제[公服制] 도입과 복색[服色] 운용에 관한 연구 (Study on the Adaptation of the Official Uniform and the Uniform Color Regulation in the Early Goryeo Dynasty)

  • This research has been done based on the Jeon Si Gwa(田柴科) regulation, the monumental inscription material and the former studies. The background of adapting the official uniform regulation in the early Goryeo Dynasty has been surveyed. Differentiating criterion in the official uniform color like purple(紫衫), red(丹衫), red(緋衫), and green(綠衫) has been studied. The official rank had been classified by the color of the official uniform in the early Goryeo uniform regulation. The lower class had worn purple(紫衫). The purple wearing class had not been the government post but the official rank. Those who worked for the Palace had worn purple color since purple color represented the Imperial Palace on which TAI-IL(太一), that is, the highest one of gods dwelt. Those who had worn red(丹色) in the monumental inscription had worked for the job associated with the military service or Hanlim savant(翰林學士) of Kwangmun Academy(光文院) and Hanlim Academy(翰林元). Dan Seo(丹書) which recorded King's commands also means the monumental inscription. In the Goryeosa(高麗史), the military class had been only in Dan Sam(丹衫). That means those class worn Dan Sam(丹衫) could have been as the strong supportive class for the Dynasty. In the early Goryeo Dynasty, the four colored uniform regulation had followed the enforcing policy of the royal authority. It has been assumed that the uniform regulation had been used as a way of enrolling the new supporting class into the existing official system. Dan Sam(丹衫) which had been worn only in the early Goryeo can be seen as the special class for strengthening the royal authority.

K-means 알고리즘을 사용한 칼라 동영상 링잉 노이즈 감쇄 방법의 개선 (Improvement of Reduction method for Ringing Artifacts in color moving-pictures using K-means algorithm)

  • 본 논문에서는 CODEC을 사용한 동영상의 손실 압축에 의해 발생하는 블러링 현상과 복원 과정 중 발생하는 링잉 노이즈를 감쇄하기 위한 개선된 선명도 향상 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 기존 알고리즘은 RGB 색 좌표계의 세 가지 칼라 값을 사용하는 연산으로 인해 많은 연산량을 요구한다. 이를 개선하기 위해 YCbCr 색 좌표계 중 휘도 값만을 사용하여 연산하였다. 시뮬레이션을 통해 RGB 칼라 값을 사용하는 기존 알고리즘과 휘도 성분인 Y 칼라 값만을 사용하는 개선된 알고리즘의 성능이 동등함을 확인하였다. 또한 Kodak 표준 이미지를 사용한 연산 처리 속도 측정을 통해서 개선된 알고리즘의 연산 처리 속도가 기존 알고리즘에 비해 약 24% 향상함을 확인하였다.

Palette-based Color Attribute Compression for Point Cloud Data

  • Point cloud is widely used in 3D applications due to the recent advancement of 3D data acquisition technology. Polygonal mesh-based compression has been dominant since it can replace many points sharing a surface with a set of vertices with mesh structure. Recent point cloud-based applications demand more point-based interactivity, which makes point cloud compression (PCC) becomes more attractive than 3D mesh compression. Interestingly, an exploration activity has been started to explore the feasibility of PCC standard in MPEG. In this paper, a new color attribute compression method is presented for point cloud data. The proposed method utilizes the spatial redundancy among color attribute data to construct a color palette. The color palette is constructed by using K-means clustering method and each color data in point cloud is represented by the index of its similar color in palette. To further improve the compression efficiency, the spatial redundancy between the indices of neighboring colors is also removed by marking them using a flag bit. Experimental results show that the proposed method achieves a better improvement of RD performance compared with that of the MPEG PCC reference software.
