The Optical Properties of $ZnS/Na_3AlF_6$ Multi-layer Thin Films with Different Optical Thickness ($ZnS/Na_3AlF_6$ 다층박막의 광학적 두께 변화에 따른 광특성)

  • $ZnS/Na_3AlF_6$ multi-layer thin film were produced by evaporation system. ZnS were selected as a high refractive index material and $Na_3AlF_6$ were selected as low refractive index material. Optical properties including color effect were systematically studied in terms of different optical thickness by spectrophotometer. In oder to compare with experimental data, the Essential Macleod Program(EMP) was adopted that simulation program. The thin film consisting of $ZnS/Na_3AlF_6$ multi-layer show the wave length of $530{\sim}600nm$, typically color range between purple, blue, green. It was confirmed that this experimental result was well matched with simulation data.

Quality Characteristics of Angelica gigas Nakai in Response to High-Temperature-Short-Time Treatment during Storage (고온단시간 처리에 따른 저장 중 참당귀의 품질 특성)

  • Angelica gigas Nakai (A. gigas) easily changes its color during storage, and appropriate thermal treatment can improve storage stability through inactivation of enzymes such as polyphenol oxidase. Therefore, this study was performed to determine quality characteristics of dried A. gigas in response to high-temperature-short-time (HTST) treatment during storage. Dried A. gigas were treated at 120-180℃ for 10 min, the samples were stored at 4℃ and 50℃ for 10 weeks, and used for the analysis of qualities. Concerning the color values, the sample treated at 120℃ was similar to the control, and the color change was large when treated above 180℃. However, color difference (ΔE⁎ab) was lower in treated samples than in control. Browning index was similar for all the samples except for the sample treated at 180℃. Functional qualities (phenolics content, antioxidant activities, and level of major components) showed a slight difference according to storage periods in all samples without control, and nodakenin content was observed in control. The results of this study showed that HTST treatment improved storage stability such as stability of colors and browning index in dried A. gigas during storage, and the appropriate treatment temperature was 120℃ in terms of stability in color and browning index.

  • To produce the white light, there are a single chip method using the blue light and phosphor coating, a multi chip method by mixing R, G, B light.. Multi chip method is proper for the smart lighting system by controling color and color temperature. And color rendering of single chip LED is good by even spectral distribution. To apply application technic like smart light system, this paper analyzed the properties of single chip LED and RGB multi chip LED, and implemented the 2 part subject evaluation for single chip LED and RGB multi chip LED. The first part is comparison of properties for single chip LED and RGB multi chip and second part is color appearance evaluation of 8 colors in each lighting environment.

Color Changes and Optimization of Orgsnoleptic Properties of Roasted Polygonatum odoratum Tea (둥굴레의 볶음처리에 따른 차의 색도 변화와 관능적 특성의 최적화)

  • Response surface methodology(RSM) was applied in roasting processes of Polygonatum odoratum roots in order to monitor Hunter color parameters and to optimize organoleptic properties of the tea. In roasting processing based on the central composite design with variations in roasting temperature (110~19$0^{\circ}C$) and roasting time(15~75min), coefficients of determinations($R^{2}$) of the models were above 0.9827(p<0.01) in Hunter color parameters and above 0.7748 in organoleptic properties. Hunter color L and $\Delta$E values of the powdered samples decreased with the roasting processes, whereas Hunter color a and b values increased up to around 59 min at 136$^{\circ}C$ and thereafter showed a decreased tendency. Organoleptic qualities on color, taste and aroma of Polygonatum odoratum tea were improved along with roasting processes, thereby estimating the optimum roasting conditions by RSM for the maximized qualities of organoleptic properties as a range from 127$^{\circ}C$ to 135$^{\circ}C$ and from 60min to 66 min. Hunter color a value(redness) was found to generate a similar response surface to that of organoleptic properties, showing the possibility of quality index in roasting processes of Polygonatum odoratum roots.

Comparative Effect of Gamma Irradiation and Phosphine Fumiagion on Color and Organoleptic Quality of White Ginseng (감마선과 Phosphine 처리가 백삼의 색도 및 관능적 품질에 미치는 영향)

  • Comparative effects of phosphine fumigation and gamma irradiation were evaluated on the qualities of white ginseng prepacked in a commercial laminated film in terms of water absorption, Hunter color parameters(L, a, b) and organoleptic properties(overall color/appearance, flavor) during 6 months of storage at ambient(20oC, 70% RH) and accelerated(40oC, 90% RH) conditions. Moisture content of packed white ginseng(initial 8.44%) linearly increased with storage period, thereby reaching to about 10% (r=0.9966) in ambient and more than 15%(r=0.9886) in accelerated conditions, respectively, at the 6th month of storage. The storage at severe conditions resulted in remarkable changes in Hunter's color values, decrease in whiteness(L) and increase in redness(a) and yellowness(b), while both treatments, phosphine and irradiation less than 5kGy, did not cause any significant changes in color parameters. Phosphine fumigation was shown detrimental to overall flavor of white ginseng(p<0.01), however or ganoleptic qualities of stored samples were effectively maintained by irradiation less than 5kGy(p< 0.05). As the index on the guality of white ginseng stored at severe conditions its organoleptic quality was highly correlated with moisture content(r= 0.9777) and Hunter color values(over 0.9), suggesting the critical values of 15.5% moisture and 72.56, 7.15, 21.45 in Hunter's L, a, b values, respectively.

Developing the Prediction Model for Color Design by the Image Types in the Office Interior (오피스 실내 색채계획을 위한 이미지별 예측모델 작성)

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest the prediction model for the color design by the image types in the office interior. This prediction model of the color design is for the more comfortable environment by using suitable, various colors fitted with business functions. In this research, we carried out the evaluation experiment with the variables such as the color on ceiling, wall, floor and the harmonies of color schemes. We set the prediction index through the multi-regression analysis. And the prediction model was made by these results. The design methods by the prediction model are as follows. 1) The $\ulcorner$variable$\lrcorner$ image was deeply influenced by the value and chroma and it was marked high in low value and high chroma and the harmonies of contrast and different color. 2) The $\ulcorner$comfortable$\lrcorner$ image was related to the value and chroma and it was marked high in high value and low chroma and harmonies of homogeneity and similar. 3) The $\ulcorner$warm$\lrcorner$ image was greatly influenced by the hue and the harmony of color schemes, and it was marked high in the warm colors and harmonies of homogeneity.

  • Previous marking policy for the AF service of TCP traffic in the Diffserv network have no sufficient consideration on the effect of RTT and target rate. In this paper, in order to improve fairness Index by the effect RTT difference of TCP traffic, we propose the modified TSW3CDM(Time Sliding Window Three Color Dynamic Marker) based on average transfer rate estimation and the flow state. The proposed algorithm is dynamic marking policy that do allocate band width in proportion to transmission rate. To evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm, We accomplished a computer simulation using NS-2. From simulation results, the proposed TSW3CDM algorithm improves fairness index by comparison with TSW3CM.

Production of Bone Broth Powder with Spray Drying Using Three Different Carrier Agents

  • The aim of this study is to determine the some physicochemical (proximate composition, pH and $a_w$ values) and reconstitution (wettability, dispersibility and solubility index (SI)) properties of spray-dried bone broth powder (BBP) along with the effects of the addition of different carrier agents. Subsequently, the powdered products were stored to determine the storage stability (pH, lipid oxidation, color, browning index) for 3 mon at $-18^{\circ}C$. For this purpose, firstly marrow-containing bones (Os femur and Os humerus) have been boiled to get the bone broth. Three different emulsions were respectively prepared (1) 20% maltodextrin (MD) added BBP, (2) 20% whey powder isolate (WPI) added BBP and (3) 10% MD and 10% WPI added BBP and the emulsions were dried using a spray-dryer with $185^{\circ}C$ inlet and $95^{\circ}C$ outlet temperature. The proximate composition and reconstitution properties of BBP were found statistically different (p<0.05) depending on the use of different carrier agents. MD added BBP showed uniform and smooth morphology. The color, browning index, thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) and pH values of BBP significantly changed (p<0.05) during storage. In conclusion, both the results of physicochemical and storage period analyses showed that the most suitable encapsulation material in the production of the bone broth powder is MD.

  • A computer program to calculate the color temperature (To) and color rendering index (Ra) of the light source was developed. Using this program and a measuring system with a monochromator and a integrating sphere, To and Ra of incandescent lamp and fluorescent lamp was calculated. As a result, it is known that To of the I/L and the F/L with a reactor ballast is changing about 40˚K with varying source voltage of 5 V. Ra variations of these lamps have a trend but can be disregarded.
