Technique According to the Calculation of Thresholds of Histogram Based on Overlap Areas for Reducing

  • In In this study, technique has been suggested according to the calculation of thresholds of histogram based on overlap areas for reducing noise while analyzing the functions of them. Suggested algorithm is to convert histogram extracted from color images to gray level and select overlap areas from extracted histogram. In addition, feature table is configured after extracting histogram in the relevant overlap area while comparing and retrieving for query and database video images by using this feature table. Suggested retrieval system has been confirmed to be more outstanding with retrieval function in video images with more noises than the system that only used color histogram.

Simulation of Color Pencil Drawing using LIC

  • We present a novel approach for the simulation of color pencil effects using line integral convolution (LIC) to produce pencil drawings from images. Our key idea is to use a bilateral convolution filter to simulate the various effects of pencil strokes. Our filter resolves the drawbacks of the existing convolution-based schemes, and presents an intuitive control to mimic the properties of pencil strokes. We also present a scheme that determines stroke directions from the shapes to be drawn. Smooth tangent flows are used for the pixels close to feature lines, and partially parallel flows inside regions. The background is rendered using a flow of fixed direction. Using different styles of stroke directions increases the realism of the resulting images. This approach produces convincing pencil drawing effects from photographs.

음각 정보를 이용한 딥러닝 기반의 알약 식별 알고리즘 연구 (Pill Identification Algorithm Based on Deep Learning Using Imprinted Text Feature)

  • In this paper, we propose a pill identification model using engraved text feature and image feature such as shape and color, and compare it with an identification model that does not use engraved text feature to verify the possibility of improving identification performance by improving recognition rate of the engraved text. The data consisted of 100 classes and used 10 images per class. The engraved text feature was acquired through Keras OCR based on deep learning and 1D CNN, and the image feature was acquired through 2D CNN. According to the identification results, the accuracy of the text recognition model was 90%. The accuracy of the comparative model and the proposed model was 91.9% and 97.6%. The accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score of the proposed model were better than those of the comparative model in terms of statistical significance. As a result, we confirmed that the expansion of the range of feature improved the performance of the identification model.

  • Recent advances in remote sensing techniques provide the potential for monitoring soil color as well as soil moisture conditions at the spatial and temporal scales required for detailed local modeling efforts. Soil moisture as well as soil color is a key feature used in the identification and classification of soils. Soil spectral reflectance has a direct relationship with soil color, as well as to other parameters such as soil moisture, soil texture. and organic matter. We evaluate the influence of seven soil properties, soil color and soil moisture, on soil spectral reflectance. This paper presents the results obtained from the ground-truth spectral reflectance measurements in the 300-1100 nm wavelength range for various land surfaces. The results suggest that the reflectance properties of soils are related to soil color, soil texture, and soil moisture. Increasing soil moisture content generally decreases soil reflectance which leads to parallel curves of soil reflectance spectra across the entire shortwave spectrum. We discuss the relationships between the soil reflectance and the Munsell Soil Color Charts which contain standard color chips with colors specified by designations for hue, value, and chroma.

Automatic Sputum Color Image Segmentation for Lung Cancer Diagnosis

  • Lung cancer is considered to be the leading cause of cancer death worldwide. A technique commonly used consists of analyzing sputum images for detecting lung cancer cells. However, the analysis of sputum is time consuming and requires highly trained personnel to avoid errors. The manual screening of sputum samples has to be improved by using image processing techniques. In this paper we present a Computer Aided Diagnosis (CAD) system for early detection and diagnosis of lung cancer based on the analysis of the sputum color image with the aim to attain a high accuracy rate and to reduce the time consumed to analyze such sputum samples. In order to form general diagnostic rules, we present a framework for segmentation and extraction of sputum cells in sputum images using respectively, a Bayesian classification method followed by region detection and feature extraction techniques to determine the shape of the nuclei inside the sputum cells. The final results will be used for a (CAD) system for early detection of lung cancer. We analyzed the performance of a Bayesian classification with respect to the color space representation and quantification. Our methods were validated via a series of experimentation conducted with a data set of 100 images. Our evaluation criteria were based on sensitivity, specificity and accuracy.

  • This study presents a new algorithm to detect the facial feature in a color image entered from the mobile device with complex backgrounds and undefined distance between camera's location and the face. Since skin color model with Hough transformation spent approximately 90$\%$ of running time to extract the fitting ellipse for detection of the facial feature, we have changed the approach to the simple geometric vector operation, called a TS(Triangle-Square) transformation. As the experimental results, this gives benefit of reduced run time. We have similar ratio of face detection to other methods with fast speed enough to be used on real-time identification system in mobile environments.

강건한 얼굴 검출 알고리즘을 위한 YCbCr 컬러 모델과 러프 집합 연구 (A Study on the YCbCr Color Model and the Rough Set for a Robust Face Detection Algorithm)

  • 본 논문에서는 특징 기반 방법인 YCbCr 컬러 모델을 이용하여 얼굴색 분포를 분할하고, 전처리 과정에서 양자화를 하여 특징 기반의 단점 중의 하나인 조명에 민감한 것을 둔감하도록 하였다. 또한 러프 집합을 이용하여 패턴의 형태로 가장 근사한 영상의 객체를 선택하는 특성을 가지게 함으로 영상 합성의 정확도를 높였다. 본 논문에서 제안된 얼굴 검출 알고리즘은 다양한 얼굴 크기 및 방향에 관계없이 기존의 알고리즘보다 약 2~3%정도 우수함을 시뮬레이션을 통해 확인하였다.

  • 압축된 비디오 데이터에서 내용기반 컷 검출을 위해 다양한 특징 벡터 추출 방법이 연구되고 있다. 특징 벡터로써 화소값의 히스토그램을 이용한 방법의 경우 화소의 공간적 특성을 고려하지 않아 정확히 컷 검출을 기대하기 어렵다. 그래서 CCV(Color Coherent Vector)나 Color Correlogram등의 계산량이 복잡한 알고리즘이 많이 사용된다. 그러나 이러한 기법들은 정확한 컷 검출을 가능하게 하나 계산량이 너무 복잡하기 때문에 검출 시간이 많이 소요되는 단점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 MPEG 비디오 시퀀스에서 휘도성분의 DC값들의 공간적 상관도를 이용한 컷 검출 기법을 제안한다. 이 기법은 비교적 간단하기 때문에 처리 시간이 빠르며 또한 개선된 특징차 비교방법을 이용하여 검출율을 더 높일 수 있다.

A SURFACE PHOTOMETRY OF NEARBY GALAXIES: M106, M31 AND M33

  • Photoelectric drift scans of nearby galaxies, M106, M31 and M33 have been made at diurnal rate with the 61cm Cassegrain Reflector at Sobacksan Observing Station. Luminosity profiles of M106 and M31 show the asymmetries between east and west sides of the galaxies and the near side of each galaxy exhibits a larger B-V color than the far side. B-V color distribution in the central part of MI06 shows somewhat unusual feature of a blue center with red surrounding regions, and this is an opposite trend to the ordinary color distribution of most of external galaxies. B-V color of M31 is nearly constant in the central part of the galaxy while U-B color decreases as the distance from the center increases.
