Efficient Method to Detect Color Codes - RHOW Algorithm (효율적 칼라코드 검출법 - 우선법 알고리즘)

  • Compared to the barcode which is being widely employed to store information on products, the color code may find more various applications because of its favorable appearance and larger possible number of combinations. However, the color values read in practice may suffer from distortions from environments and devices. In this paper, we propose efficient ways to reduce the effect of such distortions and to detect color codes. for which we apply the Right Hand on Wall (RHOW) algorithm originated from the area of the maze search. The color codes used in this paper have high values of Hue and Saturation components and have a circular shape. We first preprocessed the images to detect candidate areas of color codes, and then applied the RHOW algorithm to determine optimal coordinates of rectangles enclosing the areas. As a result, we could obtain accurate coordinates of color codes by using the RHOW algorithm.

  • Applications of two dimensional image codes like QR and color code on mobile phone are spreading widely and in lieu of that, better decoding technology and platform designs are required. Futhermore "Bokode" technology which recognizes the defocus-blur image information from imperceptible visual tiny code on ordinary digital camera has been announced newly. There is an urgent need for competitive strategies to activate 2D image code industry and R&D under smart environment. This paper focused on suggesting valuable idea and practical task through investigation and analysis required for supporting of thus strategy construction. Description consist of introduction, technological tendency for R&D, patent and market, implementation task, conclusion and suggestion.

  • 본 논문에서는 저항 생산 과정에서 실제저항값과 칼라 코드값이 잘못 표기되는 경우에 이를 검사.인식하는 시스템에 이용할 수 있는 알고리즘을 제안한다. 본 알고리즘에서는 칼라 영상에서의 효과적인 경계선 추출 방법과 칼라 영상의 명암도 변화 차이를 이용한 저항의 칼라 코드 영역 추출법, 그리고 역전파 알고리즘을 이용한 칼라 코드 판별법이 제시된다.

  • Tuberculosis (TB) is a chronic or acute infectious disease which damages more people than any other infectious diseases according to WHO estimates. In this paper, a new automatic detection system of tuberculosis bacilli by using their color information is proposed. Through the deep investigation of color and intensity compositions of tuberculosis images, new pre-processing and segmentation algorithms are suggested. Specific features of bacilli are extracted from the processed images and number counting is done by using domain-specific knowledge rules.

  • A localization system to estimate the position as well as movement direction of mobile robots is proposed in this paper. This system implements a camera fixed on a robot and color patches evenly distributed and mounted on the planar ceiling. Different permutations of patch colors code information about robot localization. Thus, extraction of color information from patch images leads to estimation of robot position. Additionally, simple geometric indicators are combined with patch colors to estimate robot's movement direction. Since only the distribution of patch colors has to be known, the analysis of patch images to is relatively fast and simple. The proposed robot localization system has been successfully tested for navigation of sample mobile robot. Obtained test results indicate the robustness and reliability of proposed technique for robot navigation.

  • This study deals with the technical approach related to the protection of digital video contents copyright, which has currently become a major issue in the digital contents market. With the production and distribution of digital video contents rapidly increasing, various policies and technical approaches are being made in relation to the protection of intellectual property rights. The technical approach from a DRM (Digital Rights Management) perspective was made from various angles, but its limitations have also been exposed in terms of convenience and quality. In this study, rather than the existing encoding certification and watermark technologies, it introduces technical approaches from a content-based copy detection method, while suggesting a copy detection method using the representative color sequence. In particular, this study takes into consideration the distribution environment of the domestic video market and deals with the technical approach in a direction that can control the illegal distribution of high quality videos.

  • Node of USN(Ubiquitous Sensor Network) environments uses radio based communication mechanism for a delivering message. Thus the multiple hop flooding is necessary for considering limited power and communicating unknown node long-range. However if there are many unknown nodes located in users' vision, the flooding of the radio base is insufficient alternative. Thus as a flash may be used to find a key in a darkness, a more direct and short range communication system is required. This study shall resolve such question through 2 different steps. First a Two kind of code method that convert Text message to color code shall be suggested. Second a hardware module, which may deliver various LED(light-emitting diode) color signal, shall be developed. The experiment may take place by fixing the entry angle of light and distance by setting a specific element as a standard mean.

The quality and the grade of fruit loaded into a cup automatically and measured in real time by camera and NIR system is determined by infernal and external factors. This paper proposes modified boundary tracking algorithm which detects the contour of fruit's color image and make chain code faster than conventional method. The chain code helps compute a size of fruit image and find multiple loading of a fruit in single cup or fruit between two cups. The designed classification system sorts a citrus at speed of 8 fruit/s, with evaluating a brix, an acidity and a size grade.

  • According as the drivers increase who have their cars, the comprehensive studies on the automobile for the traffic safety have been raised as the important problems. Visual Recognition System for radio-controled driving is a part of the sensor processor of Unmanned Autonomous Vehicle System. When a driver drives his car on an unknown highway or general road, it produces a model from the successively inputted road traffic information. The suggested Recognition System of the Road Traffic Safety Information Board is to recognize and distinguish automatically a Road Traffic Safety Information Board as one of road traffic information. The whole processes of Recognition System of the Road Traffic Safety Information Board suggested in this study are as follows. We took the photographs of Road Traffic Safety Information Board with a digital camera in order to get an image and normalize bitmap image file with a size of $200{\times}200$ byte with Photo Shop 5.0. The existing True Color is made up the color data of sixteen million kinds. We changed it with 256 Color, because it has large capacity, and spend much time on calculating. We have practiced works of 30 times with erosion and dilation algorithm to remove unnecessary images. We drawing out original image with the Region Splitting Technique as a kind of segmentation. We made three kinds of grouping(Attention Information Board, Prohibit Information Board, and Introduction Information Board) by RYB( Red, Yellow, Blue) color segmentation. We minimized the image size of board, direction, and the influence of rounding. We also minimized the Influence according to position. and the brightness of light and darkness with Eigen Vector and Eigen Value. The data sampling this feature value appeared after building the learning Code Book Database. The suggested Recognition System of the Road Traffic Safety Information Board firstly distinguished three kinds of groups in the database of learning Code Book, and suggested in order to recognize after comparing and judging the board want to recognize within the same group with Nearest Neighborhood Decision Making.
