Errors in EFL writing are very often attributable to learner's inadequate understanding of the target culture. Most of these errors are very hard to identify because they are grammatically correct notwithstanding the meaning. EFL learners almost habitually equate the meaning and usage of a linguistic item when it is present both in the native and the target languages. However, seemingly identical items in both languages sometimes prove themselves to be distinct from each other because of cultural differences. Some expressions in the native language are neither socially acceptable nor meaningful in the target language. Out of sheer ignorance, moreover, one puts a target item in the way he may use it in his native language. For instance. the primary feature of the term "friend" in Korean is [+same age group]. So, a Korean young man is not supposed to call his teacher a friend. This paper aims to clarify patterns of college level writing errors caused by interference of mother culture.

Writing naked put options is a strategy employed either as a speculation to capture premium income, or as a method of placing a limit order to buy the underlying at the strike price in return for premium received. Using a Monte Carlo simulation, twenty thousand equity prices are generated under known volatility and return parameters. A binomial tree is constructed using the same volatility and return parameters. Put options on these 'equities' are valued with the binomial methodology. The performance of various put writing strategies is evaluated on a risk-adjusted basis. Evidence presented suggests that the judicious use of put options may enhance returns during portfolio construction.

The purpose of this study was to investigate whether or not the use of the Korean alphabet increased the accuracy of English sentences Korean university students produced in dictation. The students were divided into three categories, beginning, intermediate, and advanced, based on the listening comprehension scores of a practice TOEIC test. The total population of 120 students were divided into two groups, control and experiment. In the first testing, the experiment group transcribed the English utterances on a practice TOEIC tape into phonological writing in Korean and then later changed the Korean writing into English words and sentences. In the second testing, the control group became the experiment group and used the Korean alphabet in transcribing the English sounds. Statistically significant differences were found in the improvement of accuracy in dictation when the Korean alphabet was used, especially for the beginning and intermediate students. By using the Korean alphabet as the phonological representation of the sounds, the students in the experiment group produced more accurate English words than the control group who went directly from the English utterances to writing in English. Statistically significant results were not produced for the advanced students. The significance of the present study relates to the need to add to the paucity of available data on the use of the Korean alphabet in teaching listening comprehension.

Purpose: The purposes of study was to evaluate the effect of debriefing using reflection questions and writing on the critical thinking disposition, self-efficacy, and clinical judgement ability in simulation of post-operative care of abdominal surgery. Methods: The research method was a nonequivalent control group no-synchronized design. The study period was from August 22 to 30, 2016. The subjects were comprised of 34 people in the experimental group and 36 in the control group. In a simulation session for post-operative care of abdominal surgery, the treatment of the experimental group was to debrief for 30 minutes using Lasater's reflection questions and writing. For the control group, a typical debriefing was conducted in the same environment. Results: Critical thinking disposition, self-efficacy, and clinical judgement were significantly higher in the experimental group than the control group. Conclusion: To enhance the critical thinking disposition, self-efficacy, and clinical judgement of nursing students in simulation, it is recommended to debrief using reflection questions and writing.
