Analysis of Skin Conductance Level for Cognitional and Emotional Responses associated with Unexpected Situation during Driving (운전 중 돌발 상황과 관련된 인지 처리 및 감정 반응의 피부전도수준 해석)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the skin conductance level (SCL) induced by unexpected situation which reflected the emotional and cognitional responses during driving. The participants included 57 college graduates; 28 males aged $24.5{\pm}1.3$ with $2.3{\pm}1.5$ years of driving experiences and 29 females aged $23.6{\pm}2.6$ with $2.2{\pm}1.7$ years of driving experience. Reaction time of brake, averaged SCL, maximum SCL, and rising time to maximum amplitude were measured. They were analysed according to condition (crash, non-crash) and gender (male, female). The reaction time of brake was more faster and averaged SCL was greater during non-crash condition than during crash condition. There were no significant differences between male and female drivers in the reaction time of brake and averaged SCL whether or not it crash. There were no significant differences between crash and non-crash conditions in the maximum SCL and rising time to maximum amplitude, but there were significant differences between male and female in them. These results support the hypothesis that averaged SCL is more related to cognitional response and maximum SCL and rising time to maximum amplitude are more related to emotional responses.

  • In order to predict the lifetime of InP Heterojunction Bipolar Transistor (HBT) devices and related circuits in the space radiation environment, a novel model including gamma radiation effects is proposed in this paper. Based on the analysis of radiation-induced device degradation effects including both DC and AC characteristics, a set of empirical expressions describing the device degradation trend are presented and incorporated into the Keysight model. To validate the effective of the proposed model, a series of radiation experiments are performed. The correctness of the novel model is validated by comparing experimental and simulated results before and after radiation.

  • 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 환경의 목표는 시간과 장소, 장치나 네트워크 종류에 구애 받지 않는 다양한 서비스를 제공하는 것이다. 이러한 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 환경의 개념을 가지고, 본 논문에서는 사람들이 언제 어디서나 어떤 장치를 가지고 있든지 상관없이 즐길 수 있는 정황인지 유비쿼터스 엔터테인먼트(Situation-aware Ubiquitous Entertainment)를 위한 미들웨어와 아키텍처를 제시하였다. 정황인지는 이종 플랫폼 간에 끊김 없는 서비스를 제공해주는 역할을 한다. 이를 이용하여 구현한 영화와 게임의 프로토타입을 통해서 정황인지 엔터테인먼트 서비스의 가능성을 알아볼 것이다.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine differences between male and female in blood oxygen saturation due to 93% oxygen administration of the three levels (1L/min, 3L/min, 5L/min). Ten healthy male ($25.0{\pm}1.8$ years) and ten female ($23.7{\pm}1.9$ years) college students were selected as the subjects for this study. The experiment consisted of three runs, i.e., the three levels of 93% oxygen administration, respectively. The each run consisted of three phases, i.e., Rest 1 (5 min), Hyperoxia (10 min), and Rest 2 (5 min). Blood oxygen saturation were measured throughout the three phases. By increasing the supply rate of highly concentrated oxygen, rising rate of blood oxygen saturation was increased. Blood oxygen saturation of female was higher than male regardless of supply rate of highly concentrated oxygen and phases.

Numerical simulation and experimental study of quasi-periodic large-scale vortex structures in rod bundle lattices

  • Study of flow behavior within rod bundles has been an active topic. Surface modification technologies are important parts of the design of the fourth generation reactor, which can increase the strength of the secondary flow within the rod bundle lattices. Quasi-periodic large-scale vortex structure (QLVS) is introduced by arranging micro ribs on the surface of rod bundles, which enhanced the scale of the secondary flow between the rod bundle lattices. Using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and water experiments, the flow field distribution and drag coefficient of the rod-bundle lattices are studied. The secondary flow between the micro-ribbed rod-bundle lattice is significantly enhanced compared to the standard rod-bundle lattice. The numerical simulation results agree well with the experimental results.

  • Cellular protection against carcinogens could be achieved by the induction of phase 2 detoxifying and antioxidant enzymes such as glutathione S-transferase (GST), NAD(P)H:quinone oxidoreductase 1 (NQO1) and heme oxygenase 1 (HO1). Nuclear transcription factor E2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) binds to antioxidant response element (ARE) in the promoter region of these genes and the resulting transactivation occurs. In the present study the effect of gujeolcho (Chrysanthemum zawadskii) roots on the Nrf2-ARE pathway were investigated. C. zawadskii root extract was fractionated with a series of organic solvents and their ability to induce Nrf2-ARE pathway was examined. We separated the most potent dichloromethane (DCM) fraction into 12 sub-fractions and found several sub-fractions with strong effects on the Nrf2-ARE pathway. Fraction 4 strongly induced the ARE-reporter gene activity as well as Nrf2 expression. Sitosterol was isolated as a major compound in fraction 4 although its activity was not as potent as its mother fraction. These results indicate that C. zawadskii roots might be used as a potential natural chemopreventive source.

  • In this study, one-dimensional fiber-optic radiation sensor with an organic scintillator tip is fabricated to measure high energy X-ray beam profile of CLINAC. According to the energy and field size of X-ray, scintillating light signal from one-dimensional fiber-optic sensor is measured using a photodiode-amplifier system. This sensor has many advantages such as high resolution, real-time measurement and ease calibration over conventional ion chamber and film.
