대학생의 성인애착유형 및 부모양육방식에 따른 분노 (The Relation of Self-reported Adult Attachment Style, Perceived Parental Rearing Style and Anger in Undergraduate Students)

  • Purpose: This study was done to examine the relation of self-reported adult attachment style, perceived parental rearing styles and anger in undergraduate students. Method: The six hundred and fifty undergraduate students participating in this descriptive correlational design study were conveniently sampled from K University and S College located in Seoul, Korea. The instruments were Spielberger's state-trait anger expression inventory - Korean version(Chon, Han, Lee & Spielberger, 1997), the instrument for measuring attachment styles by Hazen and Shaver (1987), and Hong's instrument for measuring parental rearing style(2001). Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, $X^2-test$, ANOVA, and cluster analysis using pc-SAS(version 8.0e) program. Results: The mean scores for trait anger and anger-in were higher in undergraduate students with insecure and ambivalent attachment style compared to students with a secure attachment style. The mean score for anger-control was highest in undergraduate students with a secure attachment style. The parental rearing styles by cluster analysis were grouped as Neglect, Permissive, Democratic, and Protective-control. The mean scores for trait anger, anger-in, and anger-out were higher in undergraduate students with 'Neglect' parental rearing style than in those with 'Democratic' and 'Protective-control' rearing styles. Conclusion: Trait anger and anger expression might be related to an attachment style and/or a parental rearing style.

학생에 의한 OSCE 모듈 개발 활동의 교육적 효과 (Educational Effects of OSCE Module Development Activity on Student Nurses)

  • Purpose: Objective Structured Clinical Examination(OSCE) has been used for clinical skill evaluation. This study was done investigate whether there are positive impact educational effects if nursing students are invited to develop OSCE modules. Method: The participants were 63 second-year students in one nursing college. Students were divided into 3 groups; the OSCE module development group(Exp1), traditional study group(Exp2), and control group(Cnt). Students were allocated according to clinical skill test scores to make the 3 groups equal. Exp1 developed OSCE modules, and Exp2 studied using traditional methods. Clinical skill tests and surveys were done to measure self-directed readiness, problem-solving ability, and self-efficacy before and after experimental treatments. Results: Clinical skill test scores increased significantly in all three groups, but Exp1 and Exp2 showed a higher clinical skill test score increment than Cnt. Self-directed readiness scores increased significantly in Exp1, but not in Exp2 and Cnt. Problem-solving ability scores increased significantly in Exp1 compared to Cont. Conclusion: Development of OSCE modules has positive educational effects for participating students in terms of clinical skill tests, self-directed readiness, and problem-solving ability.

에니어그램 성격유형에 따른 간호대학생의 정서지능, 방어기제와 대인돌봄행위 (The Emotional Intelligence, Defense Mechanism and Interpersonal Caring Behavior by Enneagram Personality Types in Nursing Students)

  • Purpose: This study was to identify the emotional intelligence, defense mechanism and interpersonal caring behavior by enneagram personality types in nursing students. Methods: A descriptive survey design was used and data were collected using questionnaires from a sample of 263 nursing students. The data were analyzed using by t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient analysis with SPSS 20.0. Results: In the enneagram personality types, the nursing students was highly measured the type 9(Peacemaker). Emotional intelligence was significantly associated with financial status of parents, motivation of admission and satisfaction of nursing by enneagram characters. Hoping and sharing of interpersonal caring behaviors were significantly differentiated with the power type of enneagram personality. And active listening, comforting, participating of interpersonal caring behaviors were the most popular among the 9 types of personality. There was a positive correlation between emotional intelligence and interpersonal caring behavior. Conclusion: This study suggest that nursing students should be educated the interpersonal caring behavior program considering emotional intelligence and enneagram personality types.

대학생의 자녀관에 영향하는 요인 (Factors Influencing the Value of Having Children among University Students)

  • Purpose: This study undertakes to identify factors influencing the perception university students in Korea hold toward having children. Method: A cross-sectional, descriptive study was conducted on 187 university students (79 males and 108 females) from one university located in a metropolitan area. Participating students completed a packet of self-report questionnaires on values concerning gender roles, marriage, family and children along with their personal demographic details. The resulting data were analyzed using t-tests, one-way ANOVA and Pearson's correlation coefficients as well as descriptive statistics. Stepwise multiple regression was performed to identify factors that most influenced the value of children held among university students. Results: The value of having children was negatively associated with the value of family, but positively associated with the value of marriage. In addition, the value of family had a negative relationship with the value of marriage, but a positive relationship with the value of gender role. Stepwise multiple regression found that the equation consisting of gender and value of marriage explained about 42.0% of the variance of the value of having children. Conclusion: Considering the findings from this study, programs promoting the positive values of marriage are required for university students to have positive values toward having children.

간호대학생의 임상실습 시 의사소통 경험에 대한 현상학적 연구 (A Phenomenological Study on the Experiences of Nursing Students' Communication in Clinical Nursing Practicum)

  • Background: Unlike traditional quantitative study, this qualitative study is designed to understand and explore the experiences of nursing students's communication in clinical nursing practicum. Methods: Participants were 15 nursing students from a university in Seoul who were selected by purposive sampling. They had been participated in clinical nursing practicum more than one semester. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and observation from May 29, 2017 to June 8, 2017. Collected data were analyzed by Colaizzi's phenomenological methodology. Results: As a result, 5 theme clusters were derived as follows: 1) the modeling of communication, 2) treatment as a student nurse, 3) respect as a nurse, 4) trauma after communication, and 5) sympathy in communication. This study identified the desire for nursing professionalism, psychological difficulties as negative emotionality, as well as positive emotionality of nursing students in clinical practicum. Conclusion: We should consider a nursing curriculum to prepare and improve the communication of nursing students before participating in clinical practicum. The concrete and systematic communication education would be useful for nursing students to participate clinical practicum effectively.

A Study on the Learning Experience of Participating in a Collaborative Problem-Solving Learning Model from a Student's Perspective: Qualitative Analysis from Focus Group Interviews

  • This qualitative study aimed to investigate ways to improve effective cooperative learning from students' perspective by understanding and analyzing the learning experiences of nursing students who participated in a collaborative problem-solving learning model. Data were collected through focus group interviews and reflection journals of six second-year nursing students from G-university in J-city who participated in a collaborative problem-solving learning model course. The interview data were analyzed and divided into 3 categories and 10 subcategories according to the six-step thematic analysis method proposed by Braun and Clarke. The results of analyzing the interviews were considered based on three areas: preparation before learning, the process of collaborating as a cooperative learning experience, and solutions and expectations after learning. The participants felt frustrated because collaborative problem-solving took more time for individual learning than traditional methods did and would not allow them to check the correct answers immediately. However, they gained new experiences by solving problems and engaging in discussions within their learning community. The participants' expectations included material that could help their learning, measures to prevent free-riders, and consideration of the learning process in evaluation factors. Although this study has sample limitations by targeting nursing students in only one region, it can be used to help operate collaborative problem-solving classes, as it reflects the real experiences and opinions of students.

융합 여가스포츠 활동에 참여하는 대학생들의 사회적 지지와 자아존중감 및 대학생활적응의 구조적 관계 (A Study on Structural Relations among the Social Support, Self-Esteem, and College Life Adjustment of College Students Participating in Convergence Leisure Sports Activities)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 융합 여가스포츠 활동에 참여하는 대학생들의 사회적 지지가 자아존중감 및 대학생활적응에 미치는 인과관계를 규명하는 데 있다. 이 연구의 대상은 경기도, 충청도, 전라도에 위치한 대학교에서 실시하고 있는 여가스포츠 관련 교과를 수강한 수강생 300명이다. 이중 불성실한 응답으로 간주되는 59부를 제외하여 총 241부를 최종 유효표본으로 선정하였다. 이들을 대상으로 다음과 같은 결론이 도출되었다. 첫째, 사회적 지지의 하위요인인 가족의 지지와 타인의 지지 모두 자아 존중감의 긍정적 자아에는 정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 부정적 자아에는 부적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 둘째, 여가스포츠 활동에 참여하는 대학생들의 자아존중감은 대학생활적응에 정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 셋째, 여가스포츠 활동에 참여하는 대학생들의 사회적 지지는 대학생활 적응에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

초.중.고등학생의 집단따돌림 경향분석 (Analysis on Bullying Tendencies Among Elementary, Middle, and High School Students)

  • Purpose: To identify bullying tendencies among elementary, middle, and high school students. Method: A descriptive study was conducted with 911 participating students. Data were collected using three, self-administered questionnaires that had been modified by the investigator. The data were analyzed by the SPSS Win 10.0 program using descriptive statistics, ANOVA. Result: The level of bullying was significantly different among elementary school, middle school and high school students. Middle school students were higher than elementary and high school students. In subtypes of bullying, language type was higher than alienation and physical damage types in elementary, middle and high school students. The methods to resolve a bullying situation are for the victim to 'speak to parents' in elementary school students, but 'bear alone' in middle school and highschool students. The answer to the question 'how many of your friends have been the victim of bullying' was 3-8 friends'. The reason for being a bully victim was 'because they pretend to be a superior man'. Conclusion: Although much research has been conducted in this area, further study among elementary, middle and high school students needs to be conducted. Furthermore, a variety of programs for preventing bullying among elementary, middle and highschool students should be developed.

The Efffects of 8-week Pilates Mat Exercises on the Body Compoition and Level of Satisfaction of Female College Students

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the effects of pilates exercises on the body composition and satisfaction level of female college students, and, to do so, pilates classes were provided for female college students for 8 weeks. Their level of satisfaction was surveyed and their body composition before and after participating in the classes was also measured. Out of a total of 40 subjects, those who did not diligently participate in the pilates classes were excluded, and the data of 22 subjects who continued to participate in the classes were analyzed only. The components of body composition measured before and after the 8-week pilates exercise program showed that body fat percentage and abdominal fat percentage were reduced, while lean body mass increased. The level of satisfaction of the group of those who performed pilates exercises for 8 weeks showed positive effects. It will be necessary to develop various systematic and science-based pilates exercise programs that are customized for different age groups in order to reduce the level of the components of body composition associated with obesity.
