  • In this paper, first of all, the driving performance of QCCs(Quality Control Circles) that are stagnant during 10 years are reviewed. And the usage realities and utilization degree of quality improvement tools in the domestic activities of QCCs are empirically analyzed into size of company and type of business. Thus, this empirical study compares the results of past period in 1997${\sim}$1999 with the results of 6 sigma non-adapting period in 2000${\sim}$2003 through examining the collections of presentation for Korea Quality Control Circle Meetings. Also, according to the introduction of 6 sigma in QCCs activities the difference of utilization degree for quality improvement tools are analyzed to compare the results of 6 sigma non-adapting period in 2000${\sim}$2003 with the results of 6 sigma adapting period in 2004${\sim}$2006. Finally, the utilization degree of 6 sigma tools which follow the driving steps of 6 sigma, DMAIC, are analyzed.

  • During system resource improvement process that based on Object-Oriented technology could be affect to the continuous system performance if lack appropriate management and control objects mechanism. This paper proposes a methodology to support continuous system performance and its stability. The adoption is based on Java Container Framework and Collections Framework for object collection. Also includes Software Engineering, Object Migration and Multiple Class Loaders mechanism accommodate to construct Continuous Migration Container (CMC). CMC is a runtime environment provides interfaces for management and control to support upgrading object process. Upgrade object methodology of CMC can be divided into two phase are object equivalence checking and object migration process. Object equivalence checking include object behavior verification and functional conformance verification before object migration process. In addition, CMC use Multiple Class Loaders mechanism to support reload effected classes instead of state transfer in migration process while upgrading object. These operations are crucial for system stability and enhancement efficiency.

  • Water related disasters frequently occur in these days due to global warming and climatic change. This give us that the trend of mal-distribution of available water resources would be increased and the environment of water resources management getting much worse. Therefore the establishment of the effective strategy should be required for water resources management urgently. In this paper the hydrological characteristics and corresponding social phenomena of the drought events in Geum river basin are inspected in depth. The word, social phenomena, means not the quantitative damage but the qualitative social influences and its main characters are analyzed by the collections of the mass media articles. This study will be helpful in prognosticating the future drought occurrence and the establishment of counterplan to them.

  • The size of software collection at any organization is increasing rapidly with the use of computer becomes popular for various applications. This trend points out the importance of proper 'catalog'or 'directory' for software collections, however, only 'title list' is found in practice. The problem of no proper directory with software collection would be more serious than the problem with book collection since browsing is not possible with softwares. Many of the expensive softwares will be a waste of money to purchase and to hold if no catalog about them is provided. In this paper the difficulties in applying AACR2 to software cataloging and the most important characteristic of computer software are discussed as well as presenting the necessity of localized information due to the requirement of a machine to be used, the difficulty using subject-based-call-number scheme, an expected way of searching software to design a location indicator, software qualifications to be cataloged, and so on. In addition, an analysis of randomly selected softwares after a cataloging practice is followed.

  • The Journals of medical libraries an the primary resources of medical library collections, and the majority of them are foreign journals. Recently, medical libraries have some difficulties in purchasing materials due to the rapidly increasing journal Vices and the curtailment in the budget. A proposal for the establishment of an information center for controlling Korean medical bibliographies was suggested. This system will be expected to contribute to the users for acquiring materials more effectively.

  • Documenting work-in-progress on construction sites using images captured with smartphones, point-and-shoot cameras, and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) has gained significant popularity among practitioners. The spatial and temporal density of these large-scale site image collections and the availability of 4D Building Information Models (BIM) provide a unique opportunity to develop BIM-driven visual analytics that can quickly and easily detect and visualize construction progress deviations. Building on these emerging sources of information this paper presents a pipeline for model-driven visual analytics of construction progress. It particularly focuses on the following key steps: 1) capturing, transferring, and storing images; 2) BIM-driven analytics to identify performance deviations, and 3) visualizations that enable root-cause assessments on performance deviations. The information requirements, and the challenges and opportunities for improvements in data collection, plan preparations, progress deviation analysis particularly under limited visibility, and transforming identified deviations into performance metrics to enable root-cause assessments are discussed using several real world case studies.

  • This study aims to identify the characteristics of Korean secondary school students in perceptions on and needs to school libraries, and suggest an effective library management directions based on the characteristics. To achieve this purpose, we compare the perceptions on and needs for library elements, such as facilities, collections, programs, etc., between middle school students and high school students, and analyze the differences. Based on the results from the analysis, we suggest to establish an orientation of school library management. We also suggest a need of further study in which differences in the perception and needs among grades in a level of the secondary school for more detailed customization of library services.

  • This study seeks to present the direction of improving related laws and systems to allow various institutions, organizations, and individuals to collect private records based on the network. For the study, the current status of network cooperation and support according to laws, systems, and layers related to private records of overseas records management institutions were inspected. Based on this, the definition of private records, role designation between institutions, and direction of network cooperation according to the level were suggested. In particular, legislation and institutionalization of consultative bodies involving various subjects, such as institutions, organizations, companies, and individuals, were emphasized.

  • In this paper we introduce the Internet-based purchase support systems using data mining and case-based reasoning (CBR). Internet Business activity that involves the end user is undergoing a significant revolution. The ability to track users browsing behavior has brought the vendor and end customer's closer than ever before. It is now possible for a vendor to personalize his product message for individual customers at massive scale. Most of former researchers, in this research arena, used data mining techniques to pursue the customer's future behavior and to improve the frequency of repurchase. The area of data mining can be defined as efficiently discovering association rules from large collections of data. However, the basic association rule-based data mining technique was not flexible. If there were no inference rules to track the customer's future behavior, association rule-based data mining systems may not present more information. To resolve this problem, we combined association rule-based data mining with CBR mechanism. CBR is used in reasoning for customer's preference searching and training through the cases. Data mining and CBR-based hybrid purchase support mechanism can reflect both association rule-based logical inference and case-based information reuse. A Web-log data gathered in the real-world Internet shopping mall is given to illustrate the quality of the proposed systems.

  • Increasing the tourism sector has a positive impact on a country. The Indonesian government has targeted to increase the number of tourists from year to year including the heritage tourism sector. However, the number of the heritage tourism sector increases slowly. To overcome this problem, this research is aimed to investigate the services performed by managements of that sector; the barrier and driver factors of heritage tourism supply chain quality management; and to identify strategies that can be implemented to improve the sector. This study used SERVQUAL method to analyze service performance of the sector. Furthermore, an in-depth interview was conducted to achieve completed objectives. The data obtained from questionnaires and interviews in several heritage tourism areas located in East Java Province of Indonesia. The results show that all SERVQUAL dimensions stay on the adequate value range. Visitors argue that the heritage tourism sector in East Java has interesting locations, collections and circumstances. However, the sector has several weaknesses compared to other tourism sectors. The strategy that can be done to improve the performance of this sector are to perform the area as an event venue, additional visiting hours, integration with other types of tourism sectors, making websites as a means of promotion.
