국가장서개발정책 기본모형 연구 (Developing a Basic Framework for the Korean National Collection Policy)

  • 정보자원의 지속적 증가와 다양화 그리고 네트워크를 이용한 정보 접근과 활용 등 정보환경의 변화로 도서관 장서개발 정책은 더욱 정교하게 변화되어야 하는 상황에 있다. 국립중앙도서관은 이러한 시대적 조류를 반영하고 그 역할과 사명을 다하기 위하여 보다 체계적이고 합리적인 국가장서개발정책을 수립해야 할 것이다. 본 연구에서는 우리나라와 주요 선진국의 국립도서관 장서개발정책을 조사하고 이를 기반으로 우리나라 국가장서 구축을 위한 기본모형을 도출하였다. 기본모형은 크게 하이브리드장서 구축, 협동연계장서 구축, 장서 평가, 그리고 장서개발정책 성문화 등 네 가지의 서브모형으로 구성되어 있다. 모형별 세부 내용과 추진방안이 제시되었다.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 전자저널 컨소시엄 참여기관의 현황과 그들의 요구를 분석함으로써 KESLI 운영의 문제점과 활성화를 위한 방안을 마련하고자 하는 것이다. 이를 위해, 참여기관을 대상으로 컨소시엄 선정 및 관리, 평가의 항목으로 구성된 설문지를 배부하였고 응답한 179개의 설문지를 분석하였다. 분석결과, KESLI 참여기관은 장서개발정책, 편목, 이용자교육 및 평가방법에 대한 요구를 나타냈다. 따라서 KESLI는 참여기관의 요구를 반영하여 장서개발정책 마련을 위한 정책 예를 제공하고 편목의 간소화를 위한 시스템을 마련해야 한다. 또한 기관에서의 이용자교육의 효과를 높이기 위해서 교재 및 프로그램을 개발지원하며 평가방법 및 기술에 대한 교육을 실시해야 한다.

  • This study is an attempt at developing an organizational model for collection development a n.0, pplicable to Korean university libraries at their present stage of development. An emphasis is placed on the discussion of the 'subject a n.0, pproach' as compared to 'functional a n.0, pproach' in collection development work. The case history of Pusan National University Library is extensively used. The proposed collection development model consists of the following elements : - To form a collection development team and to place under the team leader subject bibliographers as follows: Bibliographer for Serials Bibliographer for Humanities Bibliographer for Social Sciences Bibliographer for Sciences and Technologies - Collection development team could operate as a separate department or as part of other departments, i. e., Deputy Director's office, Acquisitions and Processing Department, or Resources Management Department. - Collection development team takes up the responsibility for policyrelated collection work, i. e., budget allocation, evaluation of existing collection, building core collection, preservation, weeding and cooperation. - Designated certified librarians located at the(planned) subject libraries take up the responsibility for selection. Subject bibliographers cooperate with selection librarians and coordinate their work. - Certified librarians at the Acquisitions and Processing Department are assigned subject areas. They operate as acquisitions librarian and processing librarian simultaneously with their assigned subject materials.

Building a text collection for Urdu information retrieval

  • Urdu is a widely spoken language in the Indian subcontinent with over 300 million speakers worldwide. However, linguistic advancements in Urdu are rare compared to those in other European and Asian languages. Therefore, by following Text Retrieval Conference standards, we attempted to construct an extensive text collection of 85 304 documents from diverse categories covering over 52 topics with relevance judgment sets at 100 pool depth. We also present several applications to demonstrate the effectiveness of our collection. Although this collection is primarily intended for text retrieval, it can also be used for named entity recognition, text summarization, and other linguistic applications with suitable modifications. Ours is the most extensive existing collection for the Urdu language, and it will be freely available for future research and academic education.

  • It has been reported that destruction test by core collection is the most reliable of the structural concrete strength in present building construction field. But it causes low efficiency by damage and cutting in structure due to the core collection. It also has some problems in repairing. Additionally in case of strength test with management specimen, different environment compared to the structure environment cause problems about estimation precise structure strength. Therefore, it is required to develop structure direct strength test that has test values and credibility above the ones obtained by core specimen collection strength test and seasonal specimen test to suggest a reasonable and practical management method of structural concrete.

초소형 Lapple 사이클론 집진기의 수치적 성능평가 (Numerical Performance Evaluation of an Ultra-small Lapple Cyclone Separator)

  • The purpose of this study is to numerically evaluate the collection performance of an ultra-small Lapple cyclone separator for 1~10 ㎛ particles introduced at flow rate of 10 L/min. The numerical evaluation reveals that a static pressure drop occurs more dominantly inside of the cyclone separator than at the inlet and the vortex finder. Also a fluid flow in the cyclone separator is confirmed to have a helical structure heading upward in the center of cyclone separator and downward in the vicinity of wall. The investigation on dust collection efficiency of the Lapple cyclone separator shows that particles of 4~8 ㎛ diameters are collected at very lower efficiency than other sizes. Then, the cut-point diameter of the cyclone separator is 1.48 ㎛.

낸드 플래시 메모리의 이주 오버헤드 감소 및 수명연장을 위한 가비지 컬렉션 기법 (Garbage Collection Technique for Reduction of Migration Overhead and Lifetime Prolongment of NAND Flash Memory)

  • NAND flash memory has unique characteristics like as 'out-place-update' and limited lifetime compared with traditional storage systems. According to out-of-place update scheme, a number of invalid (or called dead) pages can be generated. In this case, garbage collection is needed to reclaim invalid pages. Because garbage collection results in not only erase operations but also copy operations of valid (or called live) pages to other blocks, many garbage collection techniques have proposed to reduce the overhead and to increase the lifetime of NAND Flash systems. This techniques sometimes select victim blocks including cold data for the wear leveling. However, most of them overlook the cost of selecting victim blocks including cold data. In this paper, we propose a garbage collection technique named CAPi (Cost Age with Proportion of invalid pages). Considering the additional overhead of what to select victim blocks including cold data, CAPi improves the response time in garbage collection and increase the lifetime in memory systems. Additionally, the proposed scheme also improves the efficiency of garbage collection by separating cold data from hot data in valid pages. In experimental evaluation, we showed that CAPi yields up to, at maximum, 73% improvement in lifetime compared with existing garbage collections.

패션컬렉션에 나타난 모자와 의복의 조형성에 따른 이미지 평가 (Image Evaluation according to Formative Properties of Hat and the Garment in the Fashion Collection)

  • The purpose of this study is to find out the image according to formative properties of hat and garment in the fashion collection. For the study, the 96 stimuli found frequently in fashion collection from the S/S season of 1998 to the F/W season of 2004 were selected. Sets of stimulus and response scales (7 point semantic) were used as experimental materials. The stimuli were 96 pictures with the types of hat(4), the lengths of hair(3), the types of garment(3), the relations between the color of garment and hat(4), and the materials(4) and patterns of garment(2). The subjects were 415 women college students majoring fashion design related fields and living in Seoul and Gyeongsangnam-do. As statistical methods for data analysis, Factor Analysis, ANOVA test, and LSD test were used. The items of the adjectives were classified into 5 image dimensions; attractiveness, gracefulness, concentration, cuteness, and hardness and softness. Among these factors, each dimensional image was affected by formative properties of hat and garment. The image of a hat-wearer was perceived differently according to the hair style and the formative properties of hat and garment even if the type of hat was same.

정보 검색 시스템 평가를 위한 균형 테스트 컬렉션 구축 (Construction of a Balanced Test Collection for Evaluation of Information Retrieval System)

  • 검색 시스템들의 평가를 위해 국내에서도 테스트 컬렉션에 관한 여러 연구가 진행되어왔다. 그러나 그 규모나 대상 분야가 편중되어 있고 질의 및 문헌 특성의 균형 등에 대한 고려가 반영되어 있지 않아 평가 결과를 객관화하기는 사실상 어려운 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 분야별, 사용자별 균형을 고려한 대규모 테스트 컬렉션인 HANTEC에 대해 기술한다. HANTEC 테스트 컬렉션은 총 12만 건의 문헌집합으로 구성되었는데 일반, 사회과학, 과학기술 각 분야별 4만 건씩으로 특정 분야에 편중되지 않도록 하였고 질의집합도 각 분야별 10개씩 30개로 구성하였다.

사용성 평가를 통한 dCollection 시스템 개선 방안 연구 (A Study on the Improvement of the Institutional Repository Systems in the University Environment through Usability Tests)

  • 本 연구에서는 대학 기관 리포지토리의 활성화의 한 방안으로 대표적인 기관 리포지토리로 알려진 dCollection 시스템의 사용성 평가를 수행하였다. 사용된 평가 기준으로는 유용성, 유효성 등의 다섯 가지 기준을 이용하였고, 평가자로는 기관 리포지토리 담당 사서(30명) 및 제출자(30명) 그룹들을 활용하였다. 분석된 평가 결과를 기초로 하여, 대학 환경에서의 기관 리포지토리 시스템의 개선 방안을 제안하였다. 개선 방안은 시스템의 관리, 제출 및 검색 모듈의 핵심 화면들을 중심으로 해당 화면에서의 구조적 및 시각적 디자인, 기능, 접근성에서의 문제점들을 예시하고, 그 해결책들을 제안하였다.
