This study is a comparative analysis of R&D performance and research collaboration relationship among ten ocean research institutes in the Republic of Korea and foreign nations through analyzing SCI publications from 2008 to 2012. The result indicated that SIO, WHOI, and NOC had the highest number of publications, while research institutes in East Asian nations including NFRDI, KIOST, IOCAS, and JAMSTEC had the notable growth in publication. In terms of number of publication per researcher, SIO, WHOI, and NOC had relatively high number. In terms of publication per research budget (1 billion KRW), number of publication was high in the order of IOCAS, NOC, GEOMAR, SIO. The number of Citations Per Publications (CPP) was high among WHOI, SIO, NOC, GEOMAR, JAMSTEC, and IFREMER, which are North American, European and Japanese institutes. The average Impact Factor (IF) of journal submission per publication for IFREMER, KIOST and JAMSTEC was relatively increasing, while the number was fluctuating in other institutes. The analysis of research collaboration among institutes around the globe showed that the collaboration in Asia was relatively closed, whereas it was more open in Europe. In the case of Europe and Asia, higher number of research collaboration among nations also increased the quality of submitted articles.
Collaborative technology development is now one of the most significant modes of activity in the global scientific community. However, the international cooperation of science and technology simultaneously provides opportunities and challenges, and the results of global R&D collaboration can be positive or negative as the cooperation conditions of the parties may be different according to the types or characteristics of the participants and the pattern, purpose, and motivation of cooperation. In order to minimize the risk and improve the performance of cooperation, more comprehensive as well as micro-level research is needed. This study investigates a case of successful collaborative R&D conducted by several firms, universities, and public research organizations in both Korea and the U.S.A. The aim of this study is to identify the factors of successful R&D collaboration.
The purpose of this study is to suggest consideration and direction of collaboration among different industrial field in Korea which has recently increased through the analysis of design collaboration case of cross-business in domestic. To do this, I did literature research followed with theoretical background of collaboration, and I analyzed case study of collaboration between different industries in domestic. In addition, I categorized as millennial targeting and brand premium positioning shifts. As a result, brand have to select a partner that is appropriate and would be an issue for purpose of collaboration and that the result should have a clear difference from existing product, including the design elements of the brand that they want to highlight. I expect this research will become a reference for collaboration between different industries.

As for the research method, the content analysis method was used. In the modern fashion design, the collaborative expression in the motifs symbolizing Korean cultural identity are limited to tangible expression, intangible expression, integrated expression. The results of this study were as follows. First, in the tangible expression, traditional tangible assets are used in the shapes, items, colors, materials, patterns and details to symbolize uniquely Korean image. The intangible expression, the applicability for Korean intangible assets include the master's (intangible cultural assets) and the craftsmanship of the modern designers being collaborated onto the contemporary customs to express the Korean traditional culture in a realistic or an abstract trend. The hybride expression, it is to represent Korean thoughts and values using the tangible elements. Second, The expressivity of collaboration of each year mostly shows integrated expression, intangible expression and tangible expression were shown respectively. The trend of seasonal collaboration expressivity was muchly the integrated expression in most seasons, and intangible expression and tangible expression followed respectively. It is recognizable that the expressivity of collaboration of each designer was; integrated expression was muchly shown in Lie Sang Bong and Lee Young Hee's works, Duri Jung showed much of intangible expression, and much tangible expressivity was shown in Carolina Herrera.

This study depicts a Scientometric technique of Bifurcation Research output in India for around five years during 2016-2020. It is an active field of analysis in which the bulk of investigation is being done. Scopus is an advanced research platform, assisting in finding, probing and yielding information in the sciences, social sciences, arts, and humanities. The contemporary study discusses the "Bifurcation" as reflected in SCOPUS for 2016-2020. This study examines the highly prolific authors, document type etc. The study exhibited that 2017 shown maximum research papers 1700 (20.44%), the lowermost maturity rate was deciphered in 2018 (19.65%), the standard value of the period of collaboration is 0.18. The time series examines for single-authored, multi-authored, and collaborative papers are 137.8, 1564 and 1701.8 respectively.
From a point of knowledge based view, IUI(Industry-University-Institute) R&D collaboration is recognized as an important way to acquire lacking technology and knowledge. In this study, we investigated firm performance of IUI R&D collaboration on national R&D project. That is, we identified whether a collaborative research really affects firm performance, and whether firm performance is differed by types of collaboration. To test our hypotheses, we selected 250 Korean SMEs(Small and Medium Enterprises) which were funded from government R&D for 2006-2009, and we verified relations between the ratio and/or types of R&D collaboration and firm performance. Firm performance was measured by number of patent applied and ROA(Return on Assets) after completion of the project (in year t+1). Findings showed that the relationship between the ratio of R&D collaboration and technological performance was inverted U-shape. Among types of R&D collaboration, though inter-industry collaborative research was negatively related to technological performance, IUI collaborative research was positively related to technological performance. However, the ratio and types of R&D collaboration had no relation to economic performance. The results of this study will contribute to the strategy of SMEs as well as the policy of a government with regard to IUI R&D collaboration.
Through collaboration between buyers and suppliers, their companies try to achieve their own objectives and competitive advantages. And it is known that trust between them also would influence the effects of collaboration, which would increase their performances. In this study, above three domains of constructs : trust, collaborative behavior, performance are handled. From gathering data about a mobile networks industry and building a research model, we acquire the results of the study. Through nine hypotheses, the study show the results. The end of this paper describes managerial implications for collaborative performance and SCM strategy.

In Ethiopia, climate change and deforestation are major issues hindering sustainable development. Local Ethiopian communities commonly perceive an increase in temperature and a decrease in rainfall. Meteorological data shows that rainfall has declined in southern Ethiopia, and spring droughts have occurred more frequently during the last 10-15 years. The frequently occurring droughts have seriously affected the agriculture-dominated Ethiopian economy. Forests can play an important role in coping with climate change. However, deforestation is alarmingly high in Ethiopia, and this is attributed mainly to agricultural expansion and fuel wood extraction. Deforestation has led to a decrease in various benefits from forest ecosystem services, and increased ecological and environmental problems including loss of biodiversity. To resolve the issues effectively, it is crucial to enhance climate change resilience through reforestation and various international collaborations are urgently needed. To continue collaboration activities for resolving these issues, it is first necessary to address fundamental questions on the nature of collaboration: does collaboration aim for a support-benefit or a mutual benefit situation; dividing the workload or sharing the workload; an advanced technology or an appropriate technology; and short-term and intensive or long-term and extensive?. Potential collaboration activities were identified by sectors: in the governmental sector, advancing governmental structure and policy, enhancing international collaborations and negotiations, and capacity building for forest restoration and management; in the research and education sector, identifying and filling gaps in forestry and climate change education, capacity building for reforestation and climate change resilience research, and developing bioenergy and feed stocks; and in the business and industry sector, supporting conservation based forestry businesses and industries, while promoting collaboration with the research and education sectors. It is envisaged that international collaboration for enhancing climate change resilience through reforestation will provide a strong platform for resolving climate change and deforestation issues, and achieving sustainable development in Ethiopia.

This paper studies the factors affecting university and industry collaboration in education in the hospitality industry in Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) from a company perspective. The authors use qualitative method and quantitative research to study the matters, specifically using scales and data collected for Cronbach alpha reliability testing, analysizing the discovery factor of EFA, CFA and verifying the regression models through AMOS software with SEM linear modeling. The study proposes four factors: (1) organization factors, (2) contextual factors, (3) process factors, and (4) cooperation perspective impacting on the benefits factors and university and industry collaboration in education. In addition, it is also found that benefits factors has a direct and positive impact on the collaboration in education. The results suggest that the process factor had the strongest positive, followed by the contextual factor. The findings revealed that the benefit factors were significantly related to collaboration in education, which affects university and industry hospitality alliances. This finding confirm that the cooperation perspective (QD) and contextual factors (HC) are critical in collaboration between university and industry. A new point of interest is also identified that the benefits of training links are quite dependent on the linking perspective from tourism businesses.

The primary research questions in this paper are why and how competing firms collaborate, not compete, in the virtual marketplace, e.g., B2B marketplace in the Internet environment. In order to answer the questions, we take on a system dynamics simulation approach: we consider two broad e-collaboration strategies: · Exclusive e-business strategy If the firm adopts this strategy, it allocates all of its resources (available for e-business development) to its own e-business capability building only. · Collaborative e-business strategy When the firm adopts a collaborative e-business strategy, it invests not only in its own, but also the industrys e-business capability building. From the system dynamics simulation results, we conclude that e-collaboration pays off in the long run: although it is hard to tell whether the collaborative strategy is better than the exclusive one during the initial period, it is unambiguous that the collaborative e-business strategy Performs much better in the long run. We infer that such collaboration could occur when the firms realize that they benefit from the expansion of the market demand due to their collaboration. That is, in order for such collaboration between competing firms to be sustainable, such collaboration should create more demand in the market so that each company could earn more profit even if it gets less in terms of market share.
