  • Many people expect remarkable growth in Cloud Computing industry because of it's effectiveness. But Cloud Computing industry is still at an early stage. Especially, people who in the public sector hesitate to adopt Cloud Computing Services due to security issues and their conservative views. Also, they just have limited understanding, so we need to investigate what they really know and understand. The purpose of this study is to propose Improvement plans on cloud-based smart work service of a quasi-governmental agency based on the view point of preference and tendency. To discover three types of cloud-based smart work issues and interpret theoretical definitions of those, we conducted a subjectivity analysis through qualitative methodology. At the result, the study draws three elements of typology: convenience type, concentration type, and collaboration type, and provides directions to strategic-policy studies for future cloud-based smart work services of quasi-governmental agency.

  • In recent years, dynamic collaboration (DC) among cloud providers (CPs) is becoming an inevitable approach for the widely use of cloud computing and to realize the greatest value of it. In our previous paper, we proposed a combinatorial auction (CA) based cloud market model called CACM that enables a DC platform among different CPs. The CACM model allows any CP to dynamically collaborate with suitable partner CPs to form a group before joining an auction and thus addresses the issue of conflicts minimization that may occur when negotiating among providers. But how to determine optimal group bidding prices, how to obtain the stability condition of the group and how to distribute the winning prices/profits among the group members in the CACM model have not been studied thoroughly. In this paper, we propose to formulate the above problems of cooperative negotiation in the CACM model as a bankruptcy game which is a special type of N-person cooperative game. The stability of the group is analyzed by using the concept of the core and the amount of allocationsto each member of the group is obtained by using Shapley value. Numerical results are presented to demonstrate the behaviors of the proposed approaches.

  • The growing popularity of the Internet has caused the size and complexity of communications and computing systems to greatly increase in recent years. To alleviate this increased management complexity, novel autonomic management architectures have emerged, in which many automated components manage the network's resources in a distributed fashion. However, in order to achieve effective collaboration between these management components, they need to be able to efficiently exchange information in a timely fashion. In this article, we propose a context dissemination framework that addresses this problem. To achieve scalability, the management components are structured in a hierarchy. The framework facilitates the aggregation and translation of information as it is propagated through the hierarchy. Additionally, by way of semantics, context is filtered based on meaning and is disseminated intelligently according to dynamically changing context requirements. This significantly reduces the exchange of superfluous context and thus further increases scalability. The large size of modern federated cloud computing infrastructures, makes the presented context dissemination framework ideally suited to improve their management efficiency and scalability. The specific context requirements for the management of a cloud data center are identified, and our context dissemination approach is applied to it. Additionally, an extensive evaluation of the framework in a large-scale cloud data center scenario was performed in order to characterize the benefits of our approach, in terms of scalability and reasoning time.
