Despite the growing importance of safe railroad operation with the recent implementation of the Severe Accident Punishment Act, industrial accidents related to the shunting of railway vehicles persist. Therefore, the government and Korea Railroad Corporation are collaborating on an automated connection and disconnection system that enables remote control of shunting trains from a central control room, utilizing surveillance cameras. By eliminating the need for on-site workers during freight car operations at stations, it aims to reduce safety accidents inherent in manual receiving processes. A qualifying government-issued railway vehicle driver's license is necessary to handle this newly developed automatic connection and disconnection system. As a result, this study aims to establish an appropriate driver qualification system.
Cyber-Physical system(CPS) is characterized by collaborating computational elements controlling physical entities. In CPS, human desire to acquire useful information and control devices anytime and anywhere automatically has increased the necessity of a high reliable system. However, the physical world where CPS is deployed has management complexity and maintenance cost of 'CPS', so that it is impossible to make reliable systems. Thus, this paper presents an 'Autonomic Control System towards High-reliable Cyber-Physical Systems' that comprise 8-steps including 'fault analysis', 'fault event analysis', 'fault modeling', 'fault state interpretation', 'fault strategy decision', 'fault detection', 'diagnosis&reasoning' and 'maneuver execution'. Through these activities, we fascinate to design and implement 'Autonomic control system' than before. As a proof of the approach, we used a ISR(Intelligent Service Robot) for case study. The experimental results show that it achieves to detect a fault event for autonomic control of 'CPS'.
We developed a web-based virtual laboratory system for electronic circuit experiments on the client/ server distributed environment. Through our virtual laboratory, the learners will be capable of learning the concepts and theories related to electronic circuit experiments and how to operate the experimental equipments such as multimeters, function generators, digital oscilloscopes and DC power suppliers. The proposed virtual laboratory system is composed of four important components: Principle Classroom to explain the concepts and theories of electronic circuit operations, Virtual Experiment Classroom to provide interactive multimedia contents about the syllabus of off-line laboratory class, Assessment Classroom, and Management System. With the aid of the Management System every classroom is organically tied together collaborating to achieve maximum learning efficiency. We have obtained several affirmative effects such as high learning standard, reducing the total experimental hours and the damage rate for experimental equipments.
Background: The purpose of this study is to measure the Korean health literacy level and to analyse its gaps according to the factors of socioeconomic and health status and health behaviors. Based on this, policy implications were reviewed to improve the understandability on health information and to reduce the gap among socioeconomic groups. Methods: HLS-EU-Q47, a tool developed by the European Health Literacy Project, was used to conduct a face-to-face interview survey on the health literacy for the samples from general population. Results: The public general health literacy (HL) index was 34.5 out of 50. HL is consisted of three sub-dimensions: healthcare (HC-HL), disease prevention (DP-HL), and health promotion (HP-HL). And a HL analysis found scores of 34.7 points for HC-HL, 35.4 points for DP-HL, and 33.3 points for HP-HL. The level of all HL was different according to socioeconomic characteristics and health behavior. Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, more research activities on health-related literacy need to be conducted, and monitoring system on the HL level needs to be developed and implemented. In addition, a program to improve HL levels needs to be developed in order to strengthen the basis for a more sustainable healthcare system as an agenda with national health policy priority.
We aimed to review the current data composition of the Korean Tuberculosis and Post-Tuberculosis Cohort, which was constructed by linking the Korean Tuberculosis Surveillance System (KNTSS; established and operated by the Korean Disease Control and Prevention Agency since 2000) and the National Health Information Database (NHID; established by the National Health Insurance Service in 2012). The following data were linked: KNTSS data pertaining to patients diagnosed with tuberculosis between 2011 and 2018, NHID data of patients with a history of tuberculosis and related diseases between 2006 and 2018, and data (obtained from the Statistics Korea database) on causes of death. Data from 300 117 tuberculosis patients (177 206 men and 122 911 women) were linked. The rate of treatment success for new cases was highest in 2015 (86.7%), with a gradual decrease thereafter. The treatment success rate for previously treated cases showed an increasing trend until 2014 (79.0%) and decreased thereafter. In total, 53 906 deaths were confirmed among tuberculosis patients included in the cohort. The Korean Tuberculosis and Post-Tuberculosis Cohort can be used to analyze different measurement variables in an integrated manner depending on the data source. Therefore, these cohort data can be used in future epidemiological studies and research on policy-effect analysis, treatment outcome analysis, and health-related behaviors such as treatment discontinuation.
An automated guided vehicle (AGV) system is a group of collaborating unmanned vehicles which is commonly used for transporting materials within manufacturing, warehousing, or distribution systems. The performance of an AGV system depends on the dispatching rules used to assign vehicles to pickup requests, the vehicle routing protocols, and the home location of idle vehicles, which are called dwell points. In manufacturing and distribution environments which emphasize just-in-time principles, performance measures for material handling are based on response times for pickup requests and equipment utilization. In an AGV system, the response time for a pickup request is the time that it takes for the vehicle to travel from its dwell point to the pickup station. In this article, an exact dynamic programming algorithm for selecting dwell points in a tandem-loop multiple-vehicle AGV system is presented. The objective of the model is to minimize the maximum response time for all pickup requests in a given shift. The recursive algorithm considers time restrictions on the availability of vehicles during the shift.
In addition to documents or technologies at working place, the importance of technology management riese through increasing know-hows. In particular, in the field of construction, a variety of management systems including ERP and PMIS have been introduced since 90's. Therefore, the range of shared information extends to construction grounds, headquarters or even to collaborating companies. It means that the competitiveness of companies depends on the efficient management of technological documents in the field of construction. Accordingly, this study shows the purpose to develop the construction system which save, search and share technological information in order to improve any problem of current construction systems. The construction system offers you both the searching function and the viewing function for various information. In addition, the system contains the highlighting function to know if any information is available. The Construction system is possible to be used with current systems at the same time because is is designed to make up for them. In addition, it is expected to solve their problems and supplement their defects.
1.Power utilities and CRIEPI are very active in almost all aspects of power systems research. 2.About 50% of research activity of CRIEPI is made under the joint work with power utilities. 3.Research motivation of manufactures are mainly stimulated by the need of power utilities and manufacturers are closely collaborating with power utilities. 4.Main effort of universities is concentrated upon the theoretical aspects of network analysis and the means of stability improvement. Univer sities are doing research rather independently of industry unless inexceptional cases. 5.Universities are making a significant contribution to the exploration of new horizon of power systems engineering, namely, in the research on the social impact on the future of power system. 6.Current main interest of power systems reserch is centered around the stability problem and power system operation and control. Research activity in power system planning is rather low as compared to that in these two major fields. A similar statement holds for the analysis of electromagnetic transients and short circuit analysis. However a new research field is sprouting in the area of power system protection.
Under the fast technology changes and budget constraints, the organizations related to national defense face increased demands to develop innovative strategy and methodology to maximize performance with drastically reduced cost. In this context, the management of innovation and change in the defense acquisition area is vital to the Ministry of National Defense, related organizations and industries. In this paper, we discuss three comprehensive innovation strategies and methodologies for the defense acquisition area preparing for next-generation warfare; EVMS (earned value management system), PBL (performance based logistics) and SBA (simulation based acquisition). These collaborating innovative efforts enable us to tackle defense challenges for government and industries with a flexible and optimistic approach that maximizes productivity and performance with minimum cost.

Objective: To compare the accuracy for detecting breast cancer in the diagnostic setting between the use of digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT), defined as DBT alone or combined DBT and digital mammography (DM), and the use of DM alone through a systematic review and meta-analysis. Materials and Methods: Ovid-MEDLINE, Ovid-Embase, Cochrane Library and five Korean local databases were searched for articles published until March 25, 2020. We selected studies that reported diagnostic accuracy in women who were recalled after screening or symptomatic. Study quality was assessed using the Quality Assessment of Diagnostic Accuracy Studies-2 tool. A bivariate random effects model was used to estimate pooled sensitivity and specificity. We compared the diagnostic accuracy between DBT and DM alone using meta-regression and subgroup analyses by modality of intervention, country, existence of calcifications, breast density, Breast Imaging Reporting and Data System category threshold, study design, protocol for participant sampling, sample size, reason for diagnostic examination, and number of readers who interpreted the studies. Results: Twenty studies (n = 44513) that compared DBT and DM alone were included. The pooled sensitivity and specificity were 0.90 (95% confidence interval [CI] 0.86-0.93) and 0.90 (95% CI 0.84-0.94), respectively, for DBT, which were higher than 0.76 (95% CI 0.68-0.83) and 0.83 (95% CI 0.73-0.89), respectively, for DM alone (p < 0.001). The area under the summary receiver operating characteristics curve was 0.95 (95% CI 0.93-0.97) for DBT and 0.86 (95% CI 0.82-0.88) for DM alone. The higher sensitivity and specificity of DBT than DM alone were consistently noted in most subgroup and meta-regression analyses. Conclusion: Use of DBT was more accurate than DM alone for the diagnosis of breast cancer. Women with clinical symptoms or abnormal screening findings could be more effectively evaluated for breast cancer using DBT, which has a superior diagnostic performance compared to DM alone.
