Temperature History of Inner-form and Re-bars in Aluminum Concrete form During a Cold Weather Condition (한중 환경에서 알루미늄 폼 내부 철근의 직경변화에 따른 온도 특성)

  • This study is to investigate the effect of the diameter of reinforcement bars located in an aluminum-form on the temperature histories of the re-bars before placing concrete during a cold weather condition. The diameters of reinforcement bars with 13 mm, 19 mm, 25 mm and 32 mm were prepared for the experimental tests. Results showed that the larger the size of the diameter of the bars, the higher were the temperature drop. However, this study found that its effect on the temperature drop of the bars was insignificant.

  • Recently, to consider economical and constructive aspect, Usage of Admixture, like Blast-Furnace Slag and Fly-Ash, are increased. Blast-Furnace Slag, a by-product of steel industry, have many advantage, to reduce the heat of hydration, increase in ultimate strength and etc. But it also reduces early-age strength, it is prevented from using of Blast-Furnace Slag at cold-weather-concrete. In this study, for the purpose of increasing usage of Blast-Furnace Slag at cold-weather-concrete, it is investigated the strength properties of concrete subjected to time and period of frost damage for early age curing. According to this study, if early age curing is carried out before having frost damage, the strength of concrete, subjected to frost damage, is recovered. And that properties is not connected with the frost cause.

  • This paper presents the experimental study on hardening process of high-strength and high-flowable concrete. The experiments were performed to investigate any unfavorable construction situations since the actual concrete placement has been scheduled in cold weather period, so that the high quality concrete construction is convinced to be successfully carried out. The tests were conducted using 600nm and 1000nm height of steel tube to simulate the practical concrete filled steel tube columns according to the following variables as: the categories of chemical admixtures, curing temperatures and curing schemes. The test results were analyzed in terms of hardening speed, internal heat of hydration and history of strength gain. This paper emphasizes the importance of curing schemes on durability and the use of hardening accelerators on strength gain.

  • Recently. cold weather constructions were popularized because of the importance of construction term. The special method about mix design and curing of concrete was being planned to conduct cold weather constructions, but these method were not considered in a low temperature time. A Strength revelation of concrete is delayed in a curing condition of low temperature. If a construction was loaded in this case, cracks or remaining deformations are generated in a construction. So, a strength revelation characteristic in early age was investigated to secure early strength of concrete in curing condition of a low temperature. In this study, the method about concrete mix design was presented to secure construction safety in a low temperature time.

  • It is required to study systematical on the concrete quality management to extend structure life because rebuilding effect is reducing under present condition of large sized and high stories structure. Concrete, which shows its intensity by hydrating action and a big change in quality according to hot weather and temperature, produces a lot of qualify problem under hot and cold weather Because of each specification and construction plan which does not have basic standard on site, concrete's quality is irregular and makes some defect. As a result, Daegu is turned out to be the longest area after investigating application period and days focused on 8 cities weather information about relationship between hot weather circumstance and construction environment. Therefore, we first surveyed the concrete material in the region and found out the problem of quality nanagement. Then figure out the way of solution. Moreover, we integrated concrete material quality management, which is applied differently to each site, to have equal quality and to reduce defect from construction site. And then, based on various test of construction condition and analysis of quality management item, we suggest effective concrete quality management to make concrete material construction standard guide and plan under hot weather.

Properties of Strength Development on Cement Mortar Using Agent for Enduring Cold Climate (내한성 혼화제를 이용한 시멘트 모르타르의 강도증진 특성)

  • When fresh concrete is exposed to low temperature, the concrete may suffer from the frost damage at early ages and the strength development may be delayed. To solve such problems of cold weather concreting admixtures called agent for enduring cold climate are developed to prevent the fresh concrete from being frozen at early ages. In this study, the experiments are carried out on several kinds of agent for enduring cold climate to present their performance. According to experimental results, most kinds of agent for enduring cold climate show the strength development in the range $-5^{\circ}C$ of curing temperature, it tends to be delayed at long term maturity without agents for enduring cold climate. while it gains high strength maturity when agents for enduring cold climate is applied.

  • The study is compared temperature history and strength of concrete followed by covering method of insulation curing of cold weather concrete with double bubble sheet. The results were as follows. First of all, in temperature history of concrete, the internal temperature of concrete fell down to $0^{\circ}C$ before/after 60 hours, having nothing to do with covering method. The study could see that, when sheet was isolated, it fell down to low temperature quickly in early curing. When the study measured compressive strength of core specimen, there were no large differences among placing methods. However, compressive strength fell down in all ages when sheet was isolated.

  • This paper is to investigate temperature history of cold weather concrete depending on insulation curing sheet kinds. Insulating effect according to curing sheet is shown in order of 5 layer bubble sheet, combination of PE form and 3 layer bubble sheet and 3 layer bubble sheet. It maintained above $10^{\circ}C$ of minimum temperature until the completion of initial curing period when bubble curing sheet was supplied regardless of curing sheet kinds. Five layer bubble curing sheet secure higher curing temperature than any other curing sheet applied in this experiment by as much as $2{\sim}3^{\circ}C$, which performed remarkable insulation effect. Concrete applied with curing sheet secured above $65^{\circ}D{\cdot}D$ of maturity, at which concrete had 5MPa of compressive strength at 3 days.
