On the Establishment of LSTM-based Predictive Maintenance Platform to Secure The Operational Reliability of ICT/Cold-Chain Unmanned Storage

  • Recently, due to the expansion of the logistics industry, demand for logistics automation equipment is increasing. The modern logistics industry is a high-tech industry that combines various technologies. In general, as various technologies are grafted, the complexity of the system increases, and the occurrence rate of defects and failures also increases. As such, it is time for a predictive maintenance model specialized for logistics automation equipment. In this paper, in order to secure the operational reliability of the ICT/Cold-Chain Unmanned Storage, a predictive maintenance system was implemented based on the LSTM model. In this paper, a server for data management, such as collection and monitoring, and an analysis server that notifies the monitoring server through data-based failure and defect analysis are separately distinguished. The predictive maintenance platform presented in this paper works by collecting data and receiving data based on RabbitMQ, loading data in an InMemory method using Redis, and managing snapshot data DB in real time. The predictive maintenance platform can contribute to securing reliability by identifying potential failures and defects that may occur in the operation of the ICT/Cold-Chain Unmanned Storage in the future.

잠열물질을 이용한 열저장 기술에 관한 연구 (Study of Thermal Storage Technology using Phase Change Material)

  • The cold chain system in South-East Asia is requiring to maintain freshness of refrigerated or frozen food. In this study, Thermal storage system using Phase change material (PCM) was developed and evaluated its performance about temperature and cold keeping time. For various application of cold chain system, we developed portable cold box, cold roll container and freezing station. Keeping time on laboratory tests of portable cold box in case of refrigeration and freezing were 6 hours and 4 hours, respectively. Cold container was developed to 2.5 ton scale. Evaluation in Indonesia, it was showed to keep the setting temperature of $-10^{\circ}C$ over 40 hours at $30^{\circ}C$ of ambient air. Freezing station using PCM was kept over 24 hours under $-20^{\circ}C$.

국내 콜드체인 산업의 유엔 조달시장 진출방안 (A Study on the Entry of the Domestic Cold Chain Industry into the UN Procurement Market)

  • 포스트 코로나 시대의 수요 변화와 급변하는 물류 환경 속에서 콜드체인 물류 섹터의 중요성이 부각되고 연관 산업도 빠르게 성장하고 있다. 콜드체인의 범위는 식품에만 한정되지 않고 의약품, 반도체, 화훼 등 다양한 분야로 확장되고 있으며, 최근에는 백신 보관과 수송에 대한 수요가 급증하고 있다. 수요 증가에 기인한 국내 저온시설 및 관련 시설 신설과 개보수 급증 현상은 장기적 관점에서는 콜드체인 연관 산업이 향후 포화상태에 이르러 성장 둔화로 이어질 수 있다. 이에 대비하여 AI, 블록체인, IT 기술과 연계한 콜드체인 인프라 구축에 대한 노하우 축적, 한국의 선진국 진입과 방역 우수국가 등의 이점을 활용하여 잠재적 틈새시장인 유엔 조달시장 진출을 고려해 볼만 하다. 유엔 조달시장에서 콜드체인 시장은 저개발 국가를 중심으로 수요가 증가하고 있고, 지속 성장세를 전망한다. 본 논문에서는 국내 콜드체인 연관기업의 역량을 분석하고 국내외 콜드체인 물류 시장 동향, 해외시장 진출 현황을 조사하고 전문가 심층 설문조사를 실시하여 국내 콜드체인 산업의 유엔 조달시장 진출 전략을 제시하였다.

  • For the purpose of developing liner board for water resistant corrugated board in the cold chain system, several types of base paper for corrugated board were purchased from the market and 6 different boards were produced in the mill by applying the chemicals, chosen in the previous studies, on the base paper. Then water-moisture resistance and physical properties of the boards were compared each other. The liner board which is dried at high temperature with pressure by Condebelt (CK paper) showed a superior performance in strength over common liner boards. Strength of the board increased by surface chemical treatment up to $60\%$ of compressive strength and $30\%$ of burst strength. Starch insolubilization with Ammonium Zirconium Carbonate and surface coating with a surface sizing agent and a moisture resistant chemical on CK paper showed the best result. Therefore this method was recommended to produce the outer liner board for water resistant corrugated board.

  • This study was carried out to measure and analyze the storage condition, distribution route, and packaging method of four selected agricultural products(small tomato, cabbage, peach, and carrot) in the cold chain system. It was shown that dew-forming phenomenon by fruits and vegetables deteriorates the agricultural product quality and physical properties of corrugated fiberboard box during the cold chain system. The compressive strength deterioration in corrugated fiberboard boxes was much greater for single wall(SW) corrugated fiberboard containers than for double wall(DW) in low temperature-high humidity condition. To reduce the deterioration of box and dew-forming phenomenon, water-repellency treatment should be over $R_6$. However, water-resistant treatment of corrugated fiberboard containers would be effective under high relative humidity conditions more than 75% RH. It was suggested that functional corrugated fiberboard box packaging would be an optimum method to reduce the deterioration of agricultural products quality by. It was also achieved controlling the relative humidity and temperature during the storage and physical distribution process.

Experimental study on the cryogenic thermal storage unit (TSU) below -70 ℃

  • Over the past four years, as the COVID-19 pandemic has struck the world, cold chain of COVID-19 vaccination has become a hot topic. In order to overcome the pandemic situation, it is necessary to establish a cold chain that maintains a low-temperature environment below approximately 203K (-70℃), which is the appropriate storage temperature for vaccines, from vaccine suppliers to local hospitals. Usually, cryocoolers are used to maintain low temperatures, but it is difficult for small-scale local distribution to have cryocooler due to budget and power supply issues. Accordingly, in this paper, a cryogenic TSU (Thermal storage unit) system for vaccination cold chain is designed that can maintain low temperatures below -70℃C for a long time without using a cryocooler. The performance of the TSU system according to the energy storage material for using as TSU is experimentally evaluated. In the experiments, four types of cold storage materials were used: 20% DMSO aqueous solution, 30% DMSO aqueous solution, paraffin wax, and tofu. Prior to the experiment, the specific heat of the cold storage materials at low temperature were measured. Through this, the thermal diffusivity of the materials was calculated, and paraffin wax had the lowest value. As a result of the TSU system's low-temperature maintenance test, paraffin wax showed the best low-temperature maintenance performance. And it recorded a low-temperature maintenance time that was about 24% longer than other materials. As a result of analyzing the temperature trend by location within the TSU system, it was observed that heat intrusion from the outside was not well transmitted to the low temperature area due to the low thermal conductivity of paraffin wax. Therefore, in the TSU system for vaccine storage, it was experimentally verified that the lower the thermal diffusivity of the cold storage material, the better low temperature maintenance performance.

  • For the purpose of manufacturing water-resistant corrugated board boxes for agricultural products in the cold chain system, the effects of fiber types, wet strength agents and a moisture-proof chemical on the properties of the base papers were investigated first. PAE(polyamide amine epichlorohydrin) showed better performance than MF(melamine formalde-hyde) over broad stock pH ranges, which was prefered as wet strength agent for the paper grade. When short fibers(AOCC, KOCC) were mixed with long fiber(UKP) in certain ratios, some physical properties of the paper made with mixed fibers were similar to those of the paper made with UKP only. Paper containing AOCC showed the biggest increase in water resistance when PAE was added to the stock. Synergistic effects in moisture-proof and some mechanical properties of paper were appeared when PAR was added internally, together with the coating of a moisture proof chemical on the sheets.

  • 일반적으로 신선물류를 내장하고 있는 컨테이너 화물 혹은 일반 화물 등의 상태 및 위치를 파악하는 것은 콜드 체인 시스템 구축에서 매우 중요한 문제로 인식되어 왔지만, 관련업계에서 활용하고 있는 상태 및 위치 파악 방식은 아직까지 전통적인 방식에서 크게 벗어나지 못하고 있다. 때문에 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제를 해결하고 사물 인터넷 기반 스마트 콜드 체인 모니터링 자동화 시스템 구축 시 적용할 수 있는 설계 기법 및 아키텍처를 제안한다. 제안하는 스마트 콜드 체인 모니터링 자동화 시스템 구조는 oneM2M 표준을 기반으로 S/W 및 H/W로 구현되는 Network Services Layer 및 Entity, Common Services Layer 및 Entity, Application Layer 및 Entity로 구성되어 있으며, 이를 통해 신선물류 유통 시 해당 물류의 상태 및 위치를 자동으로 파악할 수 있을 뿐 아니라 해당 물류의 유통비용을 획기적으로 절감할 수 있을 것이다.
