Theoretical analysis and performance test of Jet vane type Thrust Vector Control(TVC) were conducted using supersonic cold-flow system. The use of TVC Systems an in particular jet vanes, are currently being researched for use in air launch, ship launch, underwater launch and high altitude maneuvering of tactical missiles and rockets. The necessity to generate control forces to rapidly change the course of the missile is frequently required when traditional, exterior aerodynamic surfaces are unable to produce these forces, when the flow over the control surface is insufficient. This situation can occur at launch, or high angles of attack of the control surfaces. Jet vanes peformed well at all altitudes and environmental conditions, and jet vanes are extremely effective at deflection angles up to as high as $30^{\circ}$, make them ideal for the launch and maneuver applications. In this study, performance test of supersonic cold-flow system and visualization of supersonic jet was conducted, and shape and deflection angle effect of two types of jet vanes are investigated.

Flow condensation heat transfer coefficients (HTCs) of R22, R134a, R407C, and R410A were measured on horizontal plain and microfin tubes. The experimental apparatus was composed of three main parts; a refrigerant loop, a water loop and a water/glycol loop. The test section in the refrigerant loop was made of both a plain and a microfin copper tube of 6.0∼6.16 mm inside diameter and 1.0 m length. Refrigerants were cooled by passing cold water through an annulus surrounding the test section. Tests were performed at a fixed refrigerant saturation temperature of 4$0^{\circ}C$ with mass fluxes of 100, 200, and 300 kg/m2s. Test results showed that at similar mass flux the flow condensation HTCs of R134a were similar to those of R22 for both plain and microfin tubes. On the other hand, HTCs of R407C were lower than those of R22 by 4∼16% and 16∼42% for plain and microfin tubes respectively. And HTCs of R410A were similar to those of R22 for a plain tube but lower than those of R22 by 3∼9% for a microfin tube. Heat transfer enhancement factors of a microfin tube were 1.3∼1.9.
This investigation concerns thermal stratification of the water due to the temperature difference (${\Delta}T=T_{\infty}-T_i$) between the mean temperature of the water in the test tank (1m wide, 1m high, 2.1m long) and the temperature of the inflow water into the tank; flow rate of circulating water and height of the sink diffuser in the test tank. The additional objectives was to observe a stratification phenomena near an interface by measuring the velosities and the temperature difference and investigate an availabilities of the better effective hot water through establishing thermocline near an interface around the bottom of the tank. Following results were obtained through the experiments. 1. When the flow rate was constant and the temperature difference (${\Delta}T=T_{\infty}-T_i$) between the mean temperature of the flow in the test tank and the temperature of the inflow water increased by 5.6, 9.5, 13.5($^{\circ}C$), obtained the better effective advantage of hot water and the stress near an interface increased gradually. 2. When the ${\Delta}T=T_{\infty}-T_i$ was constant and flow rate increased by 4.0, 4.8, 6.4, 8.0 (LPM), obtained the better effective advent age of hot water and the mean stress near an interface increased gradually. 3. When the height of the sink diffuser was 25cm from tank bottom in comparison with 50cm, obtained the better effective advantage of hot water and the mean stress near an interface increased.

The flowfield in a solid rocket motor was simulated at the wall-injection test model, which has a fin-slot grain and submerged nozzle, and visualized by a smoke-wire. The high speed CCD camera captured the visualized images around the nozzle inlet through the grain center port. The vortical tube structure and circumferential flow patterns at the nozzle throat were visualized. The radial momentum transfer caused by the shear-interactions of slot-outlet flow, fin-base flow and grain port flow from upstream worked as the source of these phenomena.

The blow-down oxidizer feed system with self-pressurizing $N_2O$ has more advantages than the regulated system. However, it is difficult to predict the exhaust flow rate because there exist two phases in the $N_2O$ tank - liquid phase and gas phase, and the properties of $N_2O$ in storage tank are varied continuously during blow-down. In this paper, a method that can analyse simply the blow-down oxidizer feed system is studied. The properties of saturated $N_2O$ are found from the NIST data base, and mass flow through the orifice is modeled as NHNE. Cold flow test with hybrid rocket combustor is performed for the comparison where the results should found from the good agreement.
The energy conversion from the temperature difference between hot and cold source like ocean thermal energy conversion (OTEC), requires a long and large-diameter pipe (about 1000 to 10,000 meters long) to reach the deep water. The pipe diameter ranges from 2.8 meter for proposed early test systems, to 5 meter for large, commercial power generation systems. The pipe must be designed to resist collapsing pressures produced by water temperature and density differences, and the reduced pressure required to induce flow up the pipe. Other design considerations include the external-drag effect on the pipe due to ocean currents, and the wave-induced motions of the platform to which the pipe is attached. Various approaches to the pipe construction have been proposed, including aluminum, steel, concrete, and fiberglass. More recently, a flexible pipe construction involving the use of fiberglass reinforced plastic has been proposed. This report presents the results of a scaled fixed cold water pipe (CWP) model test program performed by EES(Engineering Equation Solver) to demonstrate the feasibility of this pipe approach.

Flow Condensation heat transfer coefficients (HTCs) of Rl2, R22, R32, Rl23, Rl25, R134a, R142b were measured experimentally on a horizontal plain tube. The experi- mental apparatus was composed of three main parts; a refrigerant loop, a water loop and a water-glycol loop. The test section in a refrigerant loop was made of a copper tube of 8.8 mm inner diameter and 1000 mm length respectively. The refrigerant was cooled by passing cold water through an annulus surrounding the test section. All tests were performed at a filed refrigerant saturation temperature of 4$0^{\circ}C$ with mass fluxes of 100, 200, 300 kg/$m^2$s. The experimental result showed that flow condensation HTCs increase as the quality, mass flux, and latent heat of condensation increase. At the same mass flux, the HTCs of R32 and R142b were higher than those of R22 by 35~45% and 7~14% respectively while HTCs of R134a and Rl23 were similar to those of R22. On the other hand, HTCs of Rl25 and Rl2 were lower than those of R22 by 28 ~30% and 15 ~25% respectively Finally, a new correlation for flow condensation HTCs was developed by modifying Dobson and Chato's correlation with the latent heat of condensation considered. The correlaton showed an average deviation of 13.1% for all pure fluids data indicating an excellent agreement.

Cold flow injection test was conducted to investigate the characteristics of cryogenic liquid nitrogen jet at sub to supercritical condition. Single jet injector element was installed in high pressure chamber to investigate the effect of ambient pressure around the jet, injector geometry and flow conditions. Experimental results showed obvious differences between jet characteristics under subcritical and supercritical condition. Effect of injector inlet shape also was investigated.
The purpose of this research was to investigate the permeation properties of each stage in three stage reverse osmosis system for cold-mill wastewater reuse. After construction of the three staged pilot plant which had 75% recovery and equipped with seven plate-and-frame modules, the change of each stage's penneate flow and quality were investigated in the process of membrane fouling. The order of average permeate flow was first, second, and third stage at the beginning. As the operation time passed, the permeate flow of first stage was decreased, the second stage was maintained steadily, and the third stage was increased. Accordingly, the fouling was initiated at the first stage and then progressed to the second and third stage. The first stage's permeate quality showed the best and the second and third stage was the next in that order. And the order of quality was maintained during the test periods. Therefore, the permeate quality was not affected by membrane fouling.
