In order to investigate elementary school students' readiness to write on scientific subject, we analyzed the participants' draft in elementary student section [National Student Science Writing Contest] which is sponsored by a daily press. As a first step, we designed an assessment framework to analyze the students' writing. It is composed of three domains: scientific thinking, logical validity, creativeness. Each domain has three sub-domains. By using the framework, seven raters scored the students' inquiry reports. The findings reveal that the students needed the training for scientific writing. Especially they had great difficulty in the sub-domain of 'suggestion of rational alternative solution' in scientific thinking domain, the sub-domains of 'clearness' and 'coherence' in logical validity domain, and in the sub-domains of 'creative problem solving' and 'creative presentation' in creative domain.

In this study, we proposed a test to explore the function of Vestibulo-ocular reflex (VOR) which subjected to an angular head acceleration using pseudo random binary stimulus. Resultant eye movements(horizontal vestibular nystagmus) were digitized, filtered and transformed into the frequency domain. At first we evaluated the transfer function of V.0.R(gain and phase) and the coherence function between stimulus and response by linear frequency methods in view of the quantitative analysis since the vestibulo-ocular reflex can be considered as a linear system. at least, in normals. Secondly. with the proposed test, we showed a direct possibility that we could interpret the pathological situation quantitatively as an illustration of clinical application.

This study addresses the following questions : how does organization citizenship behavior(OCB) affect knowledge contribution in online communities? does the antecedents of OCB, cohesiveness and affection similarity, influence knowledge contribution in online communities? In order to test our hypotheses with an empirical study, we have conducted a survey which resulted in 192 valid response in the final sample. The PLS analysis results indicate that OCB affects knowledge contribution and coherence and affection similarity of online community users have influence on OCB. Further, knowledge contribution is influenced by community users' affection similarity. Practical implications of these findings and future research implications are also discussed.

This study examined the effect of story dictation and dramatization on children's story construction and decontextualized language. For 12 weeks, the 22 five-year-old children in the experimental group participated in story dictation and dramatization activities while another 22 same-age children participated only in story dictation. The instruments were the children's Decontextualized Language Test(Foley, 1992) and children's Story Analysis(Knipping, 1987), revised to fit Korean grammar. Story dictation and dramatization facilitated high level story construction by children: it raised levels of story coherence and narrative form. Story dictation and dramatization also enhanced decontextualized language of children, raising their use of decontextualized language on a picture description task.

In this paper, impedance of the chiller foundation for ships is studied by using FEM and prediction is compared to measurements. Small and medium weight hammer are used to cover high and low frequency ranges in impedance measurements. Comparison shows that measurement and prediction is in good agreement in which coherence is higher than 0.98 for the frequency ranges of 40-50 Hz to 1600 -2000 Hz.

The high coherence of laser beam has made it possible to observe interference effects even in the light scattered from rough surfaces. That's why, when object with a scattering surface is illuminated with laser light, we do see a speckled appearance due to random interference. This sort of unique property of laser speckle has bruht into existence the new noncontaciting techniques such as speckle metrology method of measuring deformation, displacement, and vibration etc of objects with high optical sensitivity. The measurable range of speckle metrology especially used to measure in -plane information, however, is limited by some factors, the so-called strain, rotation tilt of surface and out of displacement perpendicular to the plane of analysis This restrictions severly limits the measurable range of speckle metrology by causing the decorrelation of speckle patterns. It is the purpose of this paper to give a survey on the measurable limitation of speckle photography method that is one of speckle metrology. Namely we will discuss the mutual relationships and problems of each limitations adding the restriction on the largest and smallest displacement measurable with speckle methods.

Investigations on the symbolic role, spiritual health benefits and efficacy of the clothing items of the Ga wolomo (chief priest) have received little attention. Highlighting the relevance of these clothes, this paper focuses on the chief priest's dress code for his appointment, confinement, ordination, ceremonial and daily life activities. Data were collected through content analysis, participant observation and interviews with people from selected Ga communities, such as La, Teshie and Ga Mashie. The findings revealed that the selection of the chief priest is confirmed with a special clothing item. His traditional clothes and adornment also have meanings, importance and symbolic interpretations; explained in their uses, colour and style. As the spiritual head, the role of the chief priest's costume is very distinguished and symbolic in executing his duties; protecting, strengthening faith, confidence and assurance during spiritual healing, and when solving pertinent problems in the community. The paper concludes by recommending further research and documentation on other aspects of the Ga clothing culture, such as hand items and hair styles from the pre-colonial period to the present.

An electric drill is a handy tool used in a machine shop, which consists of motor, gear, bearing, shaft, and case, i.e., a gear driving system. Low level vibration and noise of the electric drill can bring the assurance of the quality and reliability of the machine. The vibration sources of the electric drill should be investigated for the reduction of the vibration and noise of the system. Through the experiments in a laboratory and the various signal processing procedure for the measured vibration and sound signals, the characteristics of the vibration and noise of the electric drill are investigated. And its propagation path is sought using partial coherence technique.

Precise digital elevation model (DEM) is an important issue in coastal area where DEMs in a time series are especially required. Although LIDAR system is useful in coastal regions, it is not yet popular in Korea mainly because of its high surveying cost and national security reasons. Recently, precise coastal DEM have been made using radar interferometry, waterline method. One of these methods, Spaceborne imaging radar interferometry has been widely used to measure the topography and deformation of the Earth. We acquired ALOS PALSAR FBD mode (Fine Beam Dual) data for evaluating the quality of interferograms and their coherency. The purpose of this study is construction of DEM using the ALOS PALSAR data using radar interferometry and analysis of surface characteristics by coherence and magnitude map over the Ganghwado and Siwha tidal flats and near coastal lands.

Statistics Korea has been diagnosis national statistics every year since 2006. They diagnosis over 200 kinds of national statistics. They have 7 quality dimension used for quality diagnosis. That is relevance, accuracy, Timeliness, Comparability, Coherence, Accessibility. Since we are interest in how well they produce national statistics, comparability has become the most important dimension recently. In this reason, Statistics Korea try to rating quality level and development comparability index for national statistics. This paper propose the practical method of grading the quality level and developing the comparability index of the national statistics.
