웹 기반 주의력 검사의 사용자 인터페이스 설계: 회귀억제 과제와 그래픽 UI를 중심으로 (User Centered Interface Design of Web-based Attention Testing Tools: Inhibition of Return(IOR) and Graphic UI)

  • 웹 기반 신경심리검사의 타당도를 저해할 수 있는 요인들에 대한 해결책의 일환으로 검사 툴의 인터페이스 디자인을 개선하고자 세 단계를 거쳐 연구를 진행하였다. 연구 1은 곽호완의 웹 기반 신경심리검사 중 주의력 검사 툴의 UI 디자인 문제점을 파악하기 위한 것으로, 전문가에 의한 발견적 시찰법을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 이 검사 툴의 지시 화면, 조사 양식, 과제 화면, 결과 화면 등의 디자인에서 세부적인 사용성 문제점들이 드러났다. 연구 2는 찾아낸 사용성 문제점을 해결하기 위해 웹 기반 주의력 검사에 특화된 11개 디자인 가이드라인을 도출하였다. 이를 토대로 사용자의 작업 흐름에 맞추어 화면 구성과 사이트 구조 등을 최적화하고 재미 요소를 가미하여 검사 툴을 새롭게 디자인 한 다음, JAVA를 이용하여 프로토타입을 개발하였다. 이렇게 구현한 개선 툴(그래픽 툴)이 기존 툴(텍스트 툴)에 비해 더 효과적임을 검증하기 위해, 연구 3에서 사용자들을 대상으로 수행 측정과 설문 조사를 실시하여, 실수 유형과 출현비율 및 UI 만족도를 측정하였다. 수행 측정 결과, 그래픽 툴이 텍스트 툴에 비해 UI 디자인 문제들로 인해 발생하는 사용자 실수 유형과 출현비율이 유의하게 감소하였다. 사후 설문 조사 분석 결과, 텍스트 툴에 비해 그래픽 툴은 전반적인 만족도, 화면, 용어와 시스템 정보, 학습 용이성, 시스템 성능 등의 만족도 측면에서 우수한 것으로 입증되었다.

개방적 가설검증 학습모형을 적용한 과학 탐구학습의 효과:화학 I ‘금속과 그 이용’ 단원을 중심으로 (The Effects of Science Inquiry Learning Applying Open- Ended Hypothesis-Testing Learning Model: On the ‘Metals and Their Applications’ Unit in Chemistry)

  • 연구에서는 고등학교 화학 수업에서 개방적 가설검증 학습모형을 적용한 과학 탐구학습을 실시하고, 학생들의 인지 수준에 따른 과학 탐구능력, 과학 수업에 대한 태도에 미치는 효과와 수업에 대한 인식을 알아보았다. 서울에 소재한 남자 고등학교 2학년 4개 학급의 학생들(92명)을 대상으로 개방적 가설검증 학습모형을 적용한 과학 탐구학습을 실시한 처치집단과 실험과정이 모두 제시된 실험 수업을 실시한 통제집단으로 배치한 후, 화학의 ‘금속과 그 이용' 단원에 대해서 수업을 실시하였다. 연구 결과에 의하면, 개방적 가설검증 학습모형을 적용한 과학 탐구학습은 과학 탐구능력 향상에 관해서 실험설계, 자료 변환 및 해석, 가설검증의 영역에서 유의미한 효과가 있었으며 문제 파악 및 정의, 가설설정의 영역에서는 효과가 없었다. 한편, 개방적 과학 탐구학습에서 학생들의 역할 및 수행할 과제의 증가로 인해 과학 수업에 대한 태도는 처치집단에 부정적인 효과가 나타났다.

일시적 국소 뇌허혈 흰쥐모델에서 원지석창포산의 뇌손상 및 인지기능 보호효과 (Protective Effects Wonjiseokchangpo-san has on Brain Damage and Cognitive Dysfunction in Transient Focal Cerebral Ischemia)

  • This study was conducted to determine the effects Wonjiseokchangpo-san on brain damage in transient focal cerebral ischemia. Rats were used for testing in the following three models: Morris Water Maze, Eight-Arm Radial Maze, and Histochemistry. In the Morris Water Maze Model, the Wonjiseokchangpo-san group showed significant decrease in the 3rd and 6th training session compared with the ischemia group. A retention test, in the Morris Water Maze Model, was performed on the 7th day without the escape platform. The Wonjiseokchangpo-san group showed significant increase compared to the ischemia group. In the Eight-Arm radial Maze model, the Wonjiseokchangpo-san group showed significant decrease in the error rate compared to the ischemia group. In the density of hippocampal CA1 cell of the cresyl violet-stained section, the Wonjiseokahangpo-san group showed significant increase compared to the ischemia group. These results suggest that Wonjiseokchangpo-san may have a significant protective effect on brain damage and cognitive dysfunction in transient focal cerebral ischemia.

  • Objectives: This study was conducted to determine the effects of Geupunggibodan on brain damage in transient focal cerebral ischemia in rats. Methods: Rats were used for testing in the following three models: Morris water maze, eight-ann radial maze, and histochemistry. Exploring Korean Pre-service Elementary Teachers' Scientific Inquiry Using the Science Writing Heuristic Template

  • This study aimed to investigate the characteristics of pre-service elementary teachers' understanding about scientific inquiry in terms of designing exploration and reasoning that is used to formulate explanations based on evidence. The research context was an open inquiry with using the Science Writing Heuristic (SWH) template in which participant students were not provided with inquiry questions. As data, lab. 39 pre-service elementary teachers participated in this study while taking their science methods course. Analyses of the reports were framed by the cognitive processes of inquiry (Chinn and Malhotra, 2002) and each report was coded and analyzed by the framework of inquiry (Tytler and Peterson, 2004). Results showed that groups' works that utilized the SWH template encouraged the participants to interact each other about scientific inquiry. They came up with more relevant and testable questions for their scientific inquiry. It implicates that children will be able to have chances of testing their own questions more properly by using the SWH template in science classes just as the participants did in this study. The use of the SWH template would help pre-service teachers to teach appropriately how to test inquiry questions to their students in the future. Discussion was made to figure out the characteristics or Korean pre-service elementary teachers' understanding about scientific inquiry.

구조적 중의성 해결을 위한 명사 수식 부사 연구 (An Analysis of Noun-modifying Adverbs for Structural Disambiguation)

  • 명사 수식 부사는 서술어를 수식하는 다른 부사들과 달리, 명사를 수식하는 기능을 수행하는 부사이다. 이들 부사들은 부사의 전형적인 기능과 다른 기능을 보이기 때문에 구문 분석시 많은 오류를 일으킨다. 이 연구에서는 명사 수식 부사를 포함한 구문이 보이는 분석의 오류를 해결하기 위하여 명사 수식 부사를 분류하고 명사 수식 부사들의 사용 양태를 살펴서 구문 분석시의 처리 방안을 수립하였다. 또한 이러한 작업이 실제로 분석의 정확도를 높이는 데 기여할 수 있음을 증명하기 위해 명사 수식 부사 처리기를 구현하여 구문 분석기의 성능 향상을 실험하였다. 제안된 방법에 의해서 구문 분석의 정확도는 81.9%에서 83.6% 정도로 향상되었다.

만성폐쇄성폐질환 환자의 호흡재활을 위한 재가 자가관리 증진 중재 개발 (Developing a Home-based Self-management Support Intervention for Pulmonary Rehabilitation in Patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a home-based self-management support intervention (SMSI) for enhancing pulmonary rehabilitation (PR) in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in Korea. Methods: This methodological study was conducted by following these 4 steps: constructing the preliminary draft of a home-based SMSI from existing recommendation and a literature review on PR and self-management interventions; testing content validity with 6 experts in COPD; exploring clinical applicability of the intervention by applying it to 4 COPD patients; determining the final intervention. Results: The final intervention included 4 components and contents identified from the literature review as essentials for self-management of COPD patients: education; exercise training and practice including breathing, muscle strengthening and aerobic exercises; cognitive behavioral strategies including informative self-decision making, collaborative goal setting and supportive advice; and action planning for exacerbation. The intervention was designed to be run by a trained nurse and had 8 weekly sessions consisting of three 60-minute face-to-face sessions and five 20-minute phone-call sessions. Conclusion: The intervention developed in this study incorporates essential components of self-management, i.e. action plan and cognitive behavioral strategies, and will contribute to enhancing and maintaining effects of PR by increasing self-management in COPD patients.

Analyzing Cognitive or Non-Cognitive Factors Involved in the Process of Physics Problem Solving in an Everyday Context - An Effort for Sucessful Problem Solving in an Everyday Context -

  • In the previous study, six factors which could disturb students' problem solving in an everyday context were identified and discussed. In this study, teaching materials to help students overcome those disturbing factors for successful problem solving in an everyday context were developed and applied to twenty-nine grade 10 students, and the effects of teaching materials were analyzed. According to the analysis of the correlation between the performance in everyday context problem solving and the benefit from the teaching materials, it was found that students who received the help from the teaching materials showed better performance with statistical significance. And students noted that teaching materials were helpful for them to solve the physics problems. Analyzing the overall performance of students in solving the everyday context problem, students in the experimental group showed better performance than the control group and this performance difference was larger among low-score students in school science testing. However, these differences were not statistically significant because the sample size was small. And, based on the analysis of interviews with students, it was also found that some students who showed low performance might not receive help from the teaching materials because the materials were too complex to be read easily, or because the basic concepts needed to solve the problem were not understood. Therefore, the results obtained from the interviews will be used to design more effective teaching for problem solving in an everyday context.

Modern Cause and Effect Model by Factors of Root Cause for Accident Prevention in Small to Medium Sized Enterprises

  • Background: Factors related to root causes can cause commonly occurring accidents such as falls, slips, and jammed injuries. An important means of reducing the frequency of occupational accidents in small- to medium-sized enterprises (SMSEs) of South Korea is to perform intensity analysis of the root cause factors for accident prevention in the cause and effect model like decision models, epidemiological models, system models, human factors models, LCU (life change unit) models, and the domino theory. Especially intensity analysis in a robot system and smart technology as Industry 4.0 is very important in order to minimize the occupational accidents and fatal accident because of the complexity of accident factors. Methods: We have developed the modern cause and effect model that includes factors of root cause through statistical testing to minimize commonly occurring accidents and fatal accidents in SMSEs of South Korea and systematically proposed educational policies for accident prevention. Results: As a result, the consciousness factors among factors of root cause such as unconsciousness, disregard, ignorance, recklessness, and misjudgment had strong relationships with occupational accidents in South Korean SMSEs. Conclusion: We conclude that the educational policies necessary for minimizing these consciousness factors include continuous training procedures followed by periodic hands-on experience, along with perceptual and cognitive education related to occupational health and safety.
