EPC (Electronic Product Code) tags and RFID (Radio Frequency IDentification) technology are said to have potential to change the ways individuals, organizations and societies operate on the everyday basis. In the near future, it is expected that every major retailer will use RFID and EPC systems to track the movement of products from suppliers to warehouses, store backrooms and eventually to points of sale. Recent efforts in EPC tags and RFID technology attempt to achieve an appropriate kind of interaction between technical and business areas. In this paper, we explore the fundamental characteristics of RFID and EPC applications and then review the different research studies of RFID technology and EPC system that have been proposed new theories and concepts that have emerged and utilized in different business fields of manufacturing and logistics. It provides an overview of the study achievements within the domain and critically evaluates the various approaches through the use of a case study and the construction of its comparison framework. The different research studies indicated that RFID and EPC systems will become more pervasive in the future and the changes that occur over the next few years will make for a further fascinating research area.
In the past two decades, diverse methods and computer codes for reconstruction of coronal magnetic fields have been developed. Some of them can reproduce a known analytic solution quite well when the magnetic field vector is fully specified by the known solution at the domain boundaries. In practical problems, however, we do not know the boundary conditions in the computational domain except the photospheric boundary, where vector magnetogram data are provided. We have developed a new, simple variational method employing vector potentials. We have tested the computational code based on this method for problems with known solutions and those with actual photospheric data. When solutions are fully given at all boundaries, the accuracy of our method is almost comparable to best performing methods in the market. When magnetic field vectors are only given at the photospheric boundary, our method excels other methods in "figures of merit" devised by Schrijver et al. (2006). Our method is expected to contribute to the real time monitoring of the sun required for future space weather prediction.
This study was performed to evaluate the prediction capability of a commercial CFD code and to investigate the effects of different geometries such as a 4.4 mm tube and an 8/10 mm annular channel on the detailed flow structures. A numerical simulation was performed for the conditions, at which the experimental data was produced by the test facility SPHINX. A 2-dimensional axisymmetric steady flow was assumed for computational simplicity. The RNG $\kappa-\varepsilon$ turbulence model (RNG) with an enhanced wall treatment option, SST $\kappa-\omega$ (SST) and low Reynolds Abid turbulence model (ABD) were employed and the numerical predictions were compared with the experimental data generated from the experiment. The effects of the geometry on heat transfer were investigated. The flow and temperature fields were also examined in order to investigate the mechanism of heat transfer near the wall. The local heat transfer coefficient predicted by the RNG model is very close to the measurement result for the tube. In contrast, the local heat transfer coefficient predicted by the SST and ABD models is closer to the measurement for the annular channel.

The aim of this study was to examine the scale and market share of Chinese's research facility & equipment in the domestic research equipment market of basic and analytical science field for analyzing the difference of the number and amount of construction by year of acquisition, national research facility equipment standard classification code, and type of institution based on the information of the research equipment invested by the Korean government for the past 14 years. In addition, we analyzed the correlation among the year of acquisition, equipment standard classification code, and type of institution variables. As of January 1 2019, from 2005 to 2018, 50 Chinese's research facilities & equipments (main equipment with a construction cost of 30 million won or more) built in the basic and analytical science fields were selected for this study and their number of construction, amount of construction, year of acquisition, type of institution, and standard classification code were analyzed. Differences of the number and amount of construction with-in and by year of acquisition, standard classification code, and type of institution were tested using a single sample Chi-square test, Mann-Whitney U test, and Kruskal-wallis test. The correlation among the three variables was analyzed by using the Chi-square test of cross-tabulation analysis. And there was a statistically significant correlation among the year of acquisition, standard classification code, and type of institution (p<.05). Compared to the 2000s, in the 2010s, high-priced Optical Electronics/Video Equipment was installed at private universities, private enterprises, and government-affiliated research institute. Therefore, the domestic construction status of Chinese's research facility & equipment in the basic science and analytical science field is less than that of the domestic ones, but the number and the amount of construction are increasing statistically. So it is necessary for the government to be able to recognize the possibility that the Chinese's research facility and equipment can encroach on the domestic research industry market and to prepare related provision.
experimental and computational studies ore carried out to investigate the natural convection of the single phase flow in a tank with a heated horizontal plate facing downward. This is a simplified model for investigations of the influence of a core melt at the bottom of a reactor vessel on the thermal hydraulic behavior in a oater filled cavity surrounding the vessel. In this case the vessel is simulated by a hexahedron insulated box with a heated plate Horizontally mounted at the bottom of the box. The box with the heated plate is installed in a water filled hexahedron tank. Coolers are immersed in the U-type water volume between the box and the tank. Although the multicomponent flows exist more probably below the heated plate in reality, present study concentrates on the single phase flow in a first step prior to investigating the complicated multicomponent thermal hydraulic phenomena. In the present study, in order to get a better understanding for the natural convection characteristics below the heated plate, the velocity and temperature are measured by LDA(Laser Doppler Anemometry) and thermocouples, respectively. And How fields are visualized by taking pictures of the How region with suspended particles. The results show the occurrence of a very effective circulation of the fluid in the whole How area as the heater and coolers are put into operation. In the remote region below the heated plate the new is nearly stagnant, and a remarkable temperature stratification can be observed with very thin thermal boundary. Analytical predictions using the FLUTAN code show a reasonable matching of the measured velocity fields.
A higher order analytical solution for static analysis of a truncated conical composite sandwich panel subjected to different loading conditions was presented in this paper which was based on a new improved higher order sandwich panel theory. Bending analysis of sandwich structures with flexible cores subjected to concentrated load, uniform distributed load on a patch, harmonic and uniform distributed loads on the top and/or bottom face sheet of the sandwich structure was also investigated. For the first time, bending analysis of truncated conical composite sandwich panels with flexible cores was performed. The governing equations were derived by principle of minimum potential energy. The first order shear deformation theory was used for the composite face sheets and for the core while assuming a polynomial description of the displacement fields. Also, the in-plane hoop stresses of the core were considered. In order to assure accuracy of the present formulations, convergence of the results was examined. Effects of types of boundary conditions, types of applied loads, conical angles and fiber angles on bending analysis of truncated conical composite sandwich panels were studied. As, there is no research on higher order bending analysis of conical sandwich panels with flexible cores, the results were validated by ABAQUS FE code. The present approach can be linked with the standard optimization programs and it can be used in the iteration process of the structural optimization. The proposed approach facilitates investigation of the effect of physical and geometrical parameters on the bending response of sandwich composite structures.
This paper dealt the free vibration analysis of thick truncated conical composite sandwich shells with transversely flexible cores and simply supported boundary conditions based on a new improved and enhanced higher order sandwich shell theory. Geometries were used in the present work for the consideration of different radii curvatures of the face sheets and the core was unique. The coupled governing partial differential equations were derived by the Hamilton's principle. The in-plane circumferential and axial stresses of the core were considered in the new enhanced model. The first order shear deformation theory was used for the inner and outer composite face sheets and for the core, a polynomial description of the displacement fields was assumed based on the second Frostig's model. The effects of types of boundary conditions, conical angles, length to radius ratio, core to shell thickness ratio and core radius to shell thickness ratio on the free vibration analysis of truncated conical composite sandwich shells were also studied. Numerical results are presented and compared with the latest results found in literature. Also, the results were validated with those derived by ABAQUS FE code.
In this paper, a Software Defined Radio (SDR) architecture was designed and implemented for rapid prototyping of GNSS receiver. The proposed SDR can receive various GNSS and direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) signals without software modification by expanded input parameters containing information of the desired signal. Input parameters include code information, center frequency, message format, etc. To receive various signal by parameter controlling, a correlator, a data bit extractor and a receiver channel were designed considering the expanded input parameters. In navigation signal processing, pseudorange was measured based on Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) and appropriate navigation message decoder was selected by message format of input parameter so that receiver position can be calculated even if SDR is set up various GNSS combination. To validate the proposed SDR, the software was implemented using C++, CUDA C based on GPU and USRP. Experimentation has confirmed that changing the input parameters allows GPS, GLONASS, and BDS satellite signals to be received. The precision of the position from implemented SDR were measured below 5 m (Circular Error Probability; CEP) for all scenarios. This means that the implemented SDR operated normally. The implemented SDR will be used in a variety of fields by allowing prototyping of various GNSS signal only by changing input parameters.

Horizon Run 5 is the most massive cosmological hydrodynamic simulation ever performed until now. Owing to the large spatial volume ($717{\times}80{\times}80[cMpc/h]^3$) and the high resolution down to 1 kpc, we may study the cosmological effects on star and galaxy formations over a wide range of mass scales from the dwarf to the cluster. We have modified the public available Ramses code to harness the power of the OpenMP parallelism, which is necessary for running simulations in such a huge KISTI supercomputer called Nurion. We have reached z=2.3 from z=200 for a given simulation period of 50 days using 2500 computing nodes of Nurion. During the simulation run, we have saved snapshot data at 97 redshifts and two light cone space data, which will be used later for the study of various research fields in galaxy formation and cosmology. We will close this talk by listing possible research topics that will play a crucial role in helping us take lead in those areas.
Seismic analysis of local site conditions is fundamental for a reliable site seismic hazard assessment. It plays a major role in mitigation of seismic damage potential through the prediction of surface ground motion in terms of amplitude, frequency content and duration. Such analysis requires the determination of the transfer function, which is a simple tool for characterizing a soil profile by estimating its vibration frequencies and its amplification potential. In this study, numerical simulations are carried out and are then combined with a statistical study to allow the characterization of design sites classified by the Algerian Building Seismic Code (RPA99, ver 2003), by average transfer functions. The mean transfer functions are thereafter used to compute RPA99 average site factors. In this regard, coming up seismic fields are simulated based on Power Spectral Density Functions (PSDF) defined at the rock basement. Results are also used to compute average site factor where, actual and synthetic time histories are introduced. In absence of measurement data, it is found that the proposed approach can be used for a better soil characterization.
