The purpose of this study is the machining of texture shapes by the contour fitting data. The hardware of the system comprises PC and scanning system, CO2 laser machine. There are four steps, (1) text image loading using scanning shapes or 2D image files, (2) generation of contour fitting data by the line and arc, cubic Bezier curve, (3) generation of NC code from the contouring fitting data, (4) machining by the DNC system. It is developed a software package, with which can conduct a micro CAM system of CNC laser machine in the PC without economical burden.

This study is focused on looking into the essence and application in the modem history of 'Martial Art Culture' that is a representative cultural code in the East Asia. Doubting and reconstructing the paradigm of the past and present, Postmodernism in the 21st century has defined marital arts as a new cultural phenomenon. This study begins by doubting whether the essence of martial arts was a cultural conduct to train both bodies and spirits. Practically used as a fighting skill since the primitive age, martial arts has fallen into sports or cultural behaviors due to the invention of the state-of-the-art modern weapons. However modern people misunderstand that martial arts of East Asia is originated a kind of cultural behaviors. It implies there is a fundamental mistake in the wat Western civilization evaluates the orientalism. This study analyzes this mistake through access method based on realities of modern history. This trial will contribute to expanding the thinking range, inquiring into varied cultural phenomena including martial arts which are misunderstood in modern history.

In the 1990's several economically important marine fisheries collapsed or showed signs of extreme hardship owing to overcapitalization and excessive fishing pressure on the resources. Public concern was raised and demands voiced for more prudent fishery management practices. The United Nations responded and developed international guidelines, such as the FAO Code of Conduct for Responsible Fishing and the UN Straddling Fish Socks and Highly Migratory Fish Stocks Agreement These guidelines task fishery managers to take prudent steps to ensure the long-term viability of fisheries and fishery resources. Included in the guidelines are two particular demands that will challenge stock assessment scientists in the new millennium. They are application of the precautionary approach and the inclusion of ecological considerations in assessments and management advice. High-lighted in the presentation are examples from the central-western Pacifi skipjack tuna fishery and the eastern Pacific thresher shark fishery where insufficien information is affecting stock assessments. The shortcomings are further linked t the new challenges of applying the precautionary approach, such as reference points, and ecological considerations, such as predator-prey and oceanographic-regime shift.(omitted)

Demand for manpower of conducting pharmaco-economic evaluation was investigated. The priority order of conducting economic evaluation on the already listed drugs was set by the budget impact for health insurance by the therapeutic groups. Manpower demand was estimated by the Anatomical, Therapeutical, Chemical (ATC) code. The total number of economic evaluation on the already listed drugs is estimated to be 346 cases. Based on these numbers, at least 53${\sim}$102 of full-time-equivalent (FTE) manpower is needed for conducting economic evaluation per year in the following 5 years.

This paper conducts a vibratory loads reduction analysis of an Advanced Active Trailing-edge Flap (AATF) blade utilizing single crystal piezoelectric actuators. For an AATF blade, a new L-L piezostack actuator using single crystal PMN-PT materials is designed. The AATF blade is designed to have similar characteristics to the Advanced Active Twist Rotor (AATR) blade. The active trailingedge flap is assumed to be 20% of the blade span and 15% of the chord, located at 75% of the blade radius. In order to conduct the vibratory loads reduction analysis of the AATF blade in forward flight, DYMORE, a multi-body dynamics analysis code, is used. The simulation result shows that the hub vibratory loads may be reduced by approximately 89% even with a much lower input-voltage when comparing with the other active rotor systems.

The development of information & telecommunication technology and internet-based electronic commerce helps to create a new economic environment. Such an economic environment requires the companies to change themselves, while providing unlimited potential and opportunities to them. Thus, in order to help the companies engaged in a fair and free competition in the electronic market, a fair competition policy needs to be designed and operated. The electronic commerce has not only promote the competition but also impede it. The electronic commerces tend to violate the fair trade than the conventional commerces in terms of differentiation, monopoly, conference, limited competition and intellectual property rights, schumpeterian competition, Alliance competition. With such basic concepts in mind, this study was aimed at reviewing the economic effects of the electronic commerce in the market and addressing the problems involving the application of the fair trade code to the electronic commerce, and thereby, suggesting the insights into our fair competition policy and reform measures.

Purpose - The purpose of this paper is to examine IKEA in the context of corporate social responsibility to determine the reasons, if any, as to why IKEA has had more success in the implementation of its CSR policies and Code of Conduct where many other multinational companies seem to have failed. Research Design and Methodology - This is a case study, an analytical approach, which focuses on exploring and analyzing the CSR policies to measure IKEA's ethical behavior in a business environment. Results - IKEA stands out as a multinational company whose CSR policies are ingrained into the business itself as a part of its ethical operations, rather than a marketing event. Conclusion - Beyond profit, IKEA actively works together with its suppliers and the nation states to eradicate the harmful social causes of the various challenges it faces in the global business environment.

A reciprocating compressor used in domestic refrigerators can be subjected to many different forms of shock. These shocks are usually experienced during transporting the products from a manufacturer to customers. The hermetic structure of this kind of compressor makes it difficult to conduct drop tests for identifying the failure mechanism and their drop behaviors. The drop/impact simulation for a reciprocating compressor has been carried out with the explicit code LS-DYNA and its validation has been experimentally verified. Simulation results are in good agreement with those of drop test. The present method of drop/impact simulation provides an efficient and powerful solution to improve the design quality and reduce the design period.

The objective of this study was to conduct a radiation shielding analysis for the facility equipped with radiation generator. The analysis was carried out in two aspects. First, from the aspect of the effect caused by primary and leakage radiation. Second, effect of scattered radiation was evaluated by applying a simple calculation method based on a scattering rate concept since effect of scattered radiation is significantly important at maze entrance of the radiation facility. The calculated results obtained using the simple method were compared to the results calculated using Geant4 code and the measured values. The results calculated by the suggested method indicate that slight error exists in a radiation shielding analysis done at the maze entrance comparing to other two results, while the results evaluated at the outside of the maze entrance door are relatively consistent with other values.

Numerical analysis on laminated plates containing an open hole subjected to compression is conducted to predict the damage constitutive behaviour of the plates. A micromechanical constitutive model for unidirectional laminated composites proposed by Liang et a1. (2006), in conjunction with damage models (Karihaloo and Fu, 1989, 1999; Zhao and Weng, 1996, 1997), is implemented into the finite element code ABAQUS to conduct the numerical analysis. The predictions are compared with experiments (Lessard and Chang, 1991) to verify the accuracy of the present analysis.
