The objectives of this study were to investigate the standard and roof vent type of multi-span greenhouse and to analyze the characteristics of natural ventilation of multi-span greenhouse with different roof vent using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) code. The vent area proportion of surveyed farms averaged 10%, it was analyzed that the vent design for natural ventilation is insufficient. The results of natural ventilation efficiency of multi-span greenhouse according to roof vent type showed that the temperature of the position in which the crops grew was the lowest in the conical roof vent type and the highest in the half conical roof vent type. For the natural ventilation effect, the conical roof vent type was the best one, but the structural stability should be evaluated in light of wind load.

The relative dose calculated by MCNPX and the relative dose measured by ionization chamber and solid phantoms evaluated the accuracy comparing with Monte Carlo simulation. In order to apply Monte Carlo simulation the intraluminal brachytherapy of extrahepatic bile duct cancer, 192Ir sealed radioactive source replicate, Bile duct and surrounding organs were made using KMIRD phantom based on a South Korea standard man. To check the absorbed dose of normal organs around bile duct, we set the specific effective energy and initial radioactivity to 1 Ci using MCNPX. Evaluation of the accuracy of the Monte Carlo simulation, the difference of the relative dose is the most 1.96% that satisfy the criteria that is the relative error less than 2% suggested by MCNPX code. In addition, The specific effective energy and absorbed dose of normal organs that were relatively adjacent to bile duct such as right side of kidney, liver, pancreas, transverse colon, spinal cord, stomach and small intestine were relatively high. on the contrary, the organs that were relatively distant to bile duct such as left side of kidney, spleen, ascending colon, descending colon and sigmoid colon were relatively low.
This paper examines the potential of Ultra-High Definition TV (UD-TV) broadcasting transmission systems beyond HD-TV over cable channel. Firstly, we analyze the trend of TOV(Threshold of Visibility) by extending the OpenCable (J.83 Annex B) system 256QAM which is the standard of Korean and American cable television transmission to 1024QAM, and realize that the OpenCable 1024QAM has nearly 30% higher data rate than 256QAM at the expense of impractically higher TOV (Threshold of Visibility). To achieve practical TOV, we control code rates of inner convolutional coder and replace turbo coder in forward error correction (FEC) part, thereby analyzing the best performance of the OpenCable systems having conventional FEC. In that result, it is necessary to modify conventional FEC of the OpenCable system to achieve under 31.5dB TOV. Moreover we study the potential of UD-TV transmission via two or more TV channels, so called channel bonding, through the Shannon capacity in 6MHz channel and the relationship with next generation A/V codec technologies.
This paper describes the performance evaluation and analysis of an Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing (OFDM) system having the least Inter Symbol Interference (ISI) in a multi-path fading channel environment. Wireless Local Area Network (W-LAN) in accordance with IEEE 802.11a and IEEE 802.11b provides high-speed transmission to universities, businesses and other various places. In addition, service providers can offer a public W-LAN service on restricted areas such as a subway. The proliferation of W-LAN has led to greater W-LAN service demands, but problems are also on the rise in offering a good W-LAN service. In particular, urban areas with high radio wave interference and many buildings are vulnerable to deteriorated QoS including disconnected data and errors. For example, when high-speed data is transmitted in such areas, the relatively high frequency generates ISI between Access Points (AP) and Mobile Terminals (such as a notebook computer), leading to a frequency selective fading channel environment. Consequently, it is difficult to expect a goodW-LAN service. The simulation proves that the OFDM system enables W-LAN to implement QoS in high-speed data transmission in a multi-path fading channel environment. The enhanced OFDM performance with 52 sub-carriers is verified via data modulation methods such as BPSK, QPSK and 16QAM based on IEEE 802.11a and punched convolutional codes with code rate of 1/2 and 3/4 and constraint length of 7. Especially, the simulation finds that the OFDM system has better performance and there is no data disconnection even in a mobile environment by applying a single tap equalizer and a decision feedback equalizer to a mobile channel environment with heavy fading influence. Given the above result, the OFDM system is an ideal solution to guarantee QoS of the W-LAN service in a high-speed mobile environment.
This paper proposes a new data hiding scheme for binary image authentication with minimizing the distortion of host image. Based on the Hamming-Code-Based data embedding algorithm, the proposed scheme makes it possible to embed authentication information into host image with only flipping small number of pixels. To minimize visual distortion, the proposed scheme only modifies the values of the flippable pixels that are selected based on Yang et al's flippablity criteria. In addition to this, by randomly shuffling the bit-order of the authentication information to be embedded, only the designated receiver, who has the secret key that was used for data embedding, can extract the embedded data. To show the superiority of the proposed scheme, the two measurement metrics, the miss detection rate and the number of flipped pixels by data embedding, are used for the comparison analysis between the proposed scheme and the previous schemes. As a result of analysis, it has been shown that the proposed scheme flips smaller number of pixels than the previous schemes to embed the authentication information of the same bit-length. Moreover, it has been shown that the proposed scheme causes smaller visual distortion and more resilient against recent steg-analysis attacks than the previous schemes by the experimental results.

A GEN TEST of the auxiliary power unit of a T-50 series aircraft is performed as part of the operational test of its emergency power system on the ground before flight. At this time, the auxiliary power unit should be automatically turned off via the response signal of the ECU when power is not normally supplied to the emergency power system. If the correct operation of the emergency power system cannot be confirmed on the ground, it is not possible to proceed with the flight. This kind of defect is a major factor causing the operation rate of the aircraft to be decreased. The defect code identified by the ECU was confirmed as a defect in the inverter. However, the same defect was found after replacing the inverter. This report presents an improved method of identifying the cause of the defect by analyzing the response characteristics of the ECU and emergency power system and allows the ECU to be recognized as the cause of the defect if the inverter does not generate a voltage within a certain time. Also, the application of the improved method confirmed that it can satisfy the output request time of the emergency power system and effectively prevent the auto-shutdown of the auxiliary power unit.
To maintain the storage quality of agricultural products, temperature uniformity during cold storage, which is affected by fan flow rate and product arrangement, is important. We simulated and validated a CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) model that can predict both airflow and temperature distribution in a cold storage environment. Computations were based on a commercial code (FLUENT 6.2) and two turbulence models. The standard k-$\varepsilon$ model and the Reynolds stress model (RSM) were chosen to improve the accuracy of CFD prediction. To obtain comparative data, the temperature distribution and velocity vector profiles were measured in a full-scale cold storage facility and in a 1/5 scale model. The agricultural products domain in cold storage was modeled as porous for economical computation. The RSM prediction showed good agreement with experimental data. In addition, temperature distribution was simulated in the cold storage rooms to estimate the uniformity of temperature distribution using the validated model.

An adaptive array antennal and a CCI canceller have been considered as techniques for cancelling Multi-User Interference(MUI) in Direct Sequence Code Division Multiple Access(DS-CDMA) system. These techniques have different problems respectively in the process of cancelling MUI as the number of users increases. For that reason, the scheme which can cancel MUI effectively by compensating for the problems of each of the techniques has been required. For the scheme, the technique to connect an adaptive array antenna and a CoChannel Interference(CCI) canceller in cascade form has been studied. In the existing study about the cascade connection method, the effect of cancelling MUI about two interference signals is analyzed, but the analysis for the quantitative BER(Bit Error Rate) improvement according to the number of users is not considered. Therefore, in this paper, we have analyzed the degree of BER performance improvement quantitatively according to the number of users by introducing the receiving system, which connects an adaptive array antenna and a CCI canceller to a DS-CDMA system in cascade form. For the method of analyzing the performance, we have performed the theoretical analysis and the simulation, considering the case of adopting only an adaptive array antenna and of cascade connection respectively, and having compared and analyzed the results. From the results, it is confirmed that in the case of adopting only an adaptive array antenna, the problems occur in the process of cancelling MUI according to the number of users and the receiving direction of interference signals, and can be compensated by the cascade connection method. In conclusion, we have known that MUI is cancelled effectively by using the cascade connection method, and the much better BER performance improvement is obtained.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the photon characteristics according to the material and thickness of the electrons incidented through a linear accelerator. The computer simulation design is a linear accelerator target consisting of a 2 mm thick tungsten single material and a 1.8 mm and 2.3 mm thick tungsten and copper composite material. In the research method, First, the behavior of primary particles in the target was evaluated by electron fluence and electron energy deposition. Second, photons occurring within the target were evaluated by photon fluence. Finally, the photon angle-energy distribution at a distance of 1 m from the target was evaluated by photon fluence. As a result, first, electrons, which are primary particles, were not released out of the target for electron fluence and energy deposition in the target of a single material and a composite material. Then, electrons were linearly attenuated negatively according to the target thickness. Second, it was found that the composite material target had a higher photon generation than the single material target. This confirmed that the material composition and thickness influences photon production. Finally, photon fluence according to the angular distribution required for shielding analysis was calculated. These results confirmed that the photon generation rate differed depending on the material and thickness of the linear accelerator target. Therefore, this study is necessary for designing and operating a linear accelerator use facility for container security screening that is being introduced in the country. In addition, it is thought that it can be used as basic data for radiation protection.

Objectives: This study was conducted to estimate the cumulative incidence rate (CIR) of unintentional injuries in Korean daily life and to describe the pattern of unintentional injuries. Methods: The study population was the people who used the National Health Insurance because of injuries (ICD code: S00$\sim$T98) during 2006. The stratified sample according to gender, age and the severity of injury (NISS, New Injury Severity Score) was randomly selected. The questions on the questionnaire were developed as a reference for an international classification tool (ICECI, International Classification of External Causes of Injury). The questions included the locations of injury, the mechanisms of injury and the results of injury. Moreover, we used age, gender, region and income variables for analysis. Results: The CIR of unintentional injuries that occurred in daily life for 1 year per 100,000 persons was 17,606, and the CIR of severe injuries was 286. Many injuries were occurred at home (29.6%), public places (19.0%), school (13.7%) and near home (12.0%). The major mechanisms of injuries were slipping (48.8%), contact (14.0%), physical over-exertion (13.8%), and fall (6.6%). Infants and old aged people were vulnerable to injuries, and those who lived rural area and who were in a low income level were vulnerable too. Conclusions: We signified the risk groups and risk settings of unintentional injuries in Korean daily life. These results could contribute to establishing strategies for injury prevention and implementing these strategies.
