This study investigated physicochemical and optical characteristics for three episodes of Asian dust, stagnant haze and long-range transport haze and for one clean day. $PM_{10}$ mass concentration during Asian dust and two haze days was increased by 2~9 times compared to that of clean episode. During Asian dust episode, coarse particle concentration was increased and the mass concentration of calcium in a coarse mode ($1.8{\sim}10{\mu}m$) was $5.4{\mu}g/m^3$ which was 7 times higher than that of clean episode. The calcium was presented as a form of $CaCO_3$ in a coarse mode. During the two haze episodes, fine particle (< $1.8{\mu}m$) concentration was increased and secondary inorganic pollutants such as sulfate, ammonium and nitrate composed of 90% of the total ions. $(NH_4)_2SO_4$ and $NH_4NO_3$ were dominant in a fine mode for stagnant haze episode. But they were the most dominant form in both fine mode and coarse mode for long-range transport haze episode. According to the optical properties for each episode (Asian dust, stagnant haze and long-range transport haze) were classified as dust, black carbon and mixture, respectively.
This study was performed to investigate the retrievability of the cementation type implant abutments. The cements used in this study were Cavitec, Tembond and Zinc Phosphate Cement. The types of surface conditioning were no treatment, 50 microne sandblasting, 250 microne sandblasting, fine diamond finishing point and coarse diamond point. The retention of cast crown was measured with Instron Universal Testing Machine(Instron Engineering Co., U.S.A.). The results were as fellows: 1. The Maximium retention was obtained by the group of Z.P.C. cementation and Coarse diamond point surface conditioning. 2. Z.P.C. shows maximum retention, and reduced in orders Tembond, Cavitec, No cement. 3. The value of retention of surface condition was highest in coarse diamond point, lowest in no tretment. 4. The similar results were obtained between fine diamond point and 50 microne sandblasting, coarse diamond point and 250 microne sandblasting. 5. The were no direct corelation between mechanical retention and cementation retention.

Composite propellant combustion is studied experimentally with systematic variation of particle sizes and mix ratios of coarse and fine APs. Considering the different modes of oxidizer-fuel flames in heterogeneous systems, the complex flame model is described to identify what combustion mechanisms are important under what conditions. The effects of AP particle size, ratio of coarse to fine AP, and pressure on burning rates are discussed in terms of qualitative theory of flame microstructure.

Aggregate as the component of High Flowing Concrete has much influence on the properties of High Flowing Concrete according to the quality and condition because the aggregate occupy a lot of concrete volume. The shape and size of aggregate affect a lot spatial passibility and fillingability. The segregation is easy to occur when the rate of Fine aggregate is high so that Fluidity is much affected by aggregate factor. In this study, therefore, we try to understand the various fluidity according to the fine aggregate of standard grade rang, the size of Coarse aggregate and the rate of fine aggregate to confirm the manufacturing possibility of High Flowing Concrete by examination on the influence of fresh state of high flowing concrete such as flowability, reinforcement passibility, fillingability, segregation resistance.
To increase the strength of high-purity porous mullite ceramics, ultra fine mullite precursor powders of about 10nm in diameter were deposited at point of contact between primary coarse mullite particles of about 60$\mu\textrm{m}$. The deposited and hetero coagulated structures of ultra fine mullite precursor powders were controlled by pH. The optimum pH condition to form a uniform deposition of mullite powders between coarse mullite particles was in the range from 7 to 8. Deposition of the ultra fine powders did not form at pH < 7 and pH > 10 irregular deposition was observed from pH 8 to 9.

The effect on the particulate matters in the atmosphere was investigated in Seoul area from March, 1984 to Aprill, 1985. Aerosols were collected by filters on nine stages Andrsen Air Sampler, and size distribution and total concentration of the aerosols, Fe and Pb were measured. In spring with Yellow Sand the concentration of particles in aerosols was 185.55$\mug/m^3$ and CP/TA was 65.9%. But in spring without Yellow Sand those of particles was 135.45$\mug/m^3$ and CP/TA was 58.6%. Accordingly the concentration of coarse particles with Yellow Sand was higher than without them in Spring. Above results indicate that in Seoul Area the main source of air pollution originated from natural burdens, especially from soil. The concentration of Pb was similarly valued through both seasons in Seoul area but fine particles valued above coarse particles. On the other hand, in urban area, the natural and anthropogenic sources have influenced on the concentration of Pb. With referred to particle size distribution for Fe, the concentration of coarse particles was 0.168$\etag/m^3$ (CP/TA: 74.3%) in Spring with Yellow Sand, 0.096$\mug/m^3$ (CP/TA: 71.6%) without Yellow Sand and 0.083$\mug/m^3$ (CP/TA: 67.4%) in winter, respectively. Compared with fine particles, all of them were higher. It indicated that the origin of coarse particles in urban air was not related to anthropogenic source. The concentration of Fe was influenced by Yellow Sand and contributed to air pollution.

Optical disk drive has excellent advantage of random accessibility of which performance is measured by access time. However, due to the increased rotational velocity of the disk and constraints of mechanical structure, two-stage seek algorithm which executes coarse and fine seeks sequentially has been adopted in most commercial optical disk drives. Although the laser spot is moved to a target track by a single seek operation, the limited operation range of the fine actuator restricts the application of the fine seek algorithm below a few hundreds of tracks. Especially, excessive movement of the objective lens causes a failure in generation of track-cross pulse and results in an unstable seek operation. In this paper, a new control algorithm for extending the fine seek range is proposed with an appropriate control structure. The coarse actuator is utilized to reduce the misalignment between the objective lens and the laser beam axis, and the fine actuator is controlled to follow the reference velocity trajectory. The proposed algorithm is applied to a CD-ROM drive to show its feasibility and some experimental results are presented.
Fracture properties of concrete depend on the mix proportions of the ingredients, specimen shape and size, type of testing method used for the evaluation of fracture properties. Aggregates play a key role for changes in the fracture behaviour of concrete as they constitute about 60-75 % of the total volume of the concrete. The present study deals with the effect of size and quantity of coarse aggregate on the fracture behaviour of steel fibre reinforced self compacting concrete (SFRSCC). Lower coarse aggregate and higher fine aggregate content in SCC results in the stronger interfacial transition zone and a weaker stiffness of concrete compared to vibrated concrete. As the fracture properties depend on the aggregates quantity and size particularly in SCC, three nominal sizes (20 mm, 16 mm and 12.5 mm) and three coarse to fine aggregate proportions (50-50, 45-55, 40-60) were chosen as parameters. Wedge Split Test (WST), a stable test method was adopted to arrive the requisite properties. Specimens without and with guide notch were investigated. The results are indicative of increase in fracture energy with increase in coarse aggregate size and quantity. The splitting force was maximum for specimens with 12.5 mm size which is associated with a brittle failure in the pre-ultimate stage followed by a ductile failure due to the presence of steel fibres in the post-peak stage.

Receptor modeling is one of statistical methods to achieve reasonable air pollution strategies. In order to maintain and manage ambient air quality, it is necessary to identify sources and to apportion its sources for ambient particulate matters. The main purpose of the study was to survey seasonal trends of inorganic elements in the coarse and fine particles. Second, this study has attempted emission sources qualitatively by a receptor method, the PMF mo-del. After that. both PMF (positive matrix factorization) model and TTFA (target transformation factor analysis) model were applied to compare and to estimate mass contribution of coarse and fine particle sources at the receptor. A total of 138 sets of samples was collected from 1989 to 1996 by a low volume cascade impactor with 9 size fraction stages at Kyung Hee University in Korea. Sixteen chemical species (Si, Ca, Fe, K, Pb, Na, Zn, Mg, Ba, Ni, V, Mn, Cr, Br, Cu. Co) were characterized by XRF. The study result showed that the weighted arithmetic mean of coarse and fine particles were 51.3 and 54.4 $\mu\textrm{g}$/㎥, respectively. Contribution of both particle fractions were esti-mated using TTFA and PMF models. The number of estimated sources was seven according to TTFA model and 8 according to PMF model. Comparison of TTFA and PMF revealed that both methodologies exhibited similar trends in their contribution pattern. However, large differences between contributions were observed in some sour-ces. The results of this study may help to suggest control strategies in local countries where known source profiles do not exist.
$PM_{10}$ and $PM_{2.5}$ were collected at the Gosan Site on Jeju Island from 2013 to 2015, and their ionic and elemental species were analyzed to examine the variations in their chemical compositional characteristics related to different meteorological conditions. Concentrations of nss-$SO_4{^{2-}}$ and $NH_4{^+}$ were respectively 6.5 and 4.7 times higher in the fine particle mode ($PM_{2.5}$) compared to the coarse particle mode ($PM_{10-2.5}$), however $NO_3{^-}$ concentrations were 2.4 times higher in the coarse mode compared to the fine particle mode. During Asian dust days, the concentrations of nss-$Ca^{2+}$ and $NO_3{^-}$ increased to 8.2 and 5.0 times higher in $PM_{10}$, and 3.5 and 6.0 times higher in $PM_{2.5}$, respectively. During haze days, the concentrations of secondary pollutants increased by 3.1-4.7 and 3.2-7.9 in $PM_{10}$ and $PM_{2.5}$, respectively, and they were, respectively, 1.2-2.1 and 0.9-2.1 times higher on mist days. The aerosols were acidified largely by sulfuric and nitric acids, and neutralized mainly by ammonia in the fine particle mode during the haze days, but neutralized by calcium carbonate in coarse particle mode during the Asian dust days. Clustered back trajectory analysis showed that concentrations of nss-$SO_4{^{2-}}$, $NO_3{^-}$, and $NH_4{^+}$ were relatively high when air masses travelled from China.
