Coloration and Chemical Stability of SiO2 and SnO2 Coated Blue CoAl2O4 Pigment (SiO2, SnO2 코팅된 청색 CoAl2O4 안료의 색상, 물성 평가 연구)

  • This work describes the coloration, chemical stability of $SiO_2$ and $SnO_2$-coated blue $CoAl_2O_4$ pigment. The $CoAl_2O_4$, raw materials, were synthesized by a co-precipitation method and coated with silica ($SiO_2$) and tin oxide ($SnO_2$) using sol-gel method, respectively. To study phase and coloration of $CoAl_2O_4$, we prepared nano sized $CoAl_2O_4$ pigments which were coated $SiO_2$ and $SnO_2$ using tetraethylorthosilicate, $Na_2SiO_3$ and $Na_2SiO_3$ as a coating material. To determine the stability of the coated samples and their colloidal solutions under acidic and basic conditions, colloidal nanoparticle solutions with various pH values were prepared and monitored over time. Blue $CoAl_2O_4$ solutions were tuned yellow color under all acidic/basic conditions. On the other hand, the chemical stability of $SiO_2$ and $SnO_2$-coated $CoAl_2O_4$ solution were improved when all samples pH values, respectively. Phase stability under acidic/basic condition of the core-shell type $CoAl_2O_4$ powders were characterized by transmission electron microscope, X-ray diffraction, CIE $L^*a^*b^*$ color parameter measurements.

A Study on the Phase Formation and Sequence in Co/Si System during Ion Beam Mixing (Ion Beam Mixing에 의한 Co/Si 계의 상 형성 및 전이에 관한 연구)

  • 본 연구에서는 Co/Si 계에 대한 이온선 혼합실험을 온도와 이온선량을 변수로 하여 실시하였고, Co/Si 계에 대한 상형성 과정을 금속/Si 계에 대한 이온선 혼합시의 비정질상 및 결정상 형성예측 모델(ADF Model)과 초기 결정상 예측 모델(PDF Model)을 이용하여 해석하였다. 이온선 혼합은 80KeV 가속기를 이용하여 상온$-400^{\circ}C$의 온도 범위에서 1.0X1015Ar+/$\extrm{cm}^2$-2.0X1016Ar+/$\textrm{cm}^2$의 이온선량을 변화시키면서 실험하였으며 상분석은 투과전자현미경(TEM)과 X선 회절 분석을 이용하였다. Co/Si 계에서 이온선 혼합시 형성되는 초기 결정상은 Co2Si이며 이온선량의 증가에 따라 CoSi로 상전이하였다. 이러한 실험 결과는 비정질상 및 결정상 형성 예측 모델(ADF model)과 초기 결정상 예측모델(PDF model)의 예측결과와 매우 잘 일치하고 있다. 이상의 연구 결과로부터 ADF 모델과 PDF모델을 이용하여 박막에서 형성되는 상을 보다 정확히 예측할 수 있음을 알 수 있었다.

First-principles Study on the Half-metallicity and Magnetism of a Full Heusler Alloy, Co2HfSi, in Bulk State and at its (001) Surfaces

  • The authors predicted that $Co_2HfSi$, a $Co_2$-based full Heusler alloy, is being a half-metallic ferromagnet by first-principles calculations using the all electron full-potential linearized augmented plane wave method which adopts the generalized gradient approximation. The integer value of the calculated total magnetic moment of 2.00 ${\mu}_B$ per formula unit and a spin gap of 0.69 eV in spin down state confirmed the half-metallicity of bulk $Co_2HfSi$. For the $Co_2HfSi$(001) surface, we considered two possible surface terminations, namely, Co terminated and HfSi terminated surfaces. It was found that half-metallicity was retained at the HfSi-terminated surface but not at the Co-terminated surface. The magnetic moment of surface Co atoms in the Co-terminated surface was slightly lower than that of Co atoms in deep inner-layers, whereas the magnetic moments of Hf and Si atoms at the HfSi-terminated surface were almost same as those in deep inner-layers.

  • Si (100) 기판위에서 에피텍셜하게 자란 CoSi$_2$층은 우수한 열적안정성, 낮은 junction leakage, ultra-Shallow junction형성 등의 장점으로 인하여 많은 주목을 받아왔다. 그래서 에피텍셜 CoSi$_2$층을 형성하기 위한 많은 방법들이 보고되어 왔다. 그 방법으로는 Ti나 TiN층을 이용한 interlayer mediated epitaxy, Co의 제한적 공급을 통한 molecular beam epitaxy와 molecular beam allotaxy, 그리고 금속유기소스를 이용한 반응성화학기상증착법등이 있다. 하지만 이 방법들은 복잡한 증착공정과 열처리 후 잔류층 제거의 어려움등을 가지고 있다. 본 연구는 일반적으로 사용되는 Ti나 oxide의 중간층없이 에피층을 형성시키는 새로운 방법으로 CO-O-N 박막으로부터 열처리에 의해 확산된 Co로부터 CoSi$_2$에피층을 형성시켰다.

스퍼터링 방식으로 형성시킨 코발트 실리사이드 박막의 형성 및 특성

  • Salicide(Self-aligned) CoSi$_2$의 형성을 알아보기 위하여, 단결정 실리콘 기판내에 불순물 주입에 따른 실리사이드의 형성영향을 알아보는, As,BF$_2$를 주입 한 시편과, 코발트와 SiO$_2$를 증착한 시편을 준비하였다. RF sputtering 방식으로 각각의 기판위에 코발트를 증착 한 후 Rapid Thermal Annealing(RTA) 온도 400-100$0^{\circ}C$영역에서 20초 동안 열처리 하였다. RTA 온도 80$0^{\circ}C$에서 비저항이 약 18$\mu$$\Omega$-cm정도의 CoSi$_2$를 형성 시켰으며 SEM 과 $\alpha$-step 으로 확인된 Si 기판과 코발트 실리사이드의 계면 roughness 및 surface roughness는 우수하였고, CoSi$_2$의 두께 증가에 따른 실리콘 소모량의 증가에 따라 기판내에 있던 As,BF$_2$ 이온들이 실리사이드내로 재분포 되는 현상을 보였다.CoSi$_2$/Si 계면간의 열적안정성은 $N_2$분위기로 30분간 Furnace Annealing 온도 100$0^{\circ}C$까지 CoSi$_2$의 응집화 현상이 일어나지 않았다.

An IRS Study on the Adsorption of Carbonmonoxide on Silica Supported Ni-Cu Alloys (실리카 지지 니켈-구리 합금에서 일산화탄소의 흡착에 관한 IRS 연구)

  • We have investigated the infrared spectra for CO adsorbed on silica supported nickel(Ni-Si$O_2$), silica supported copper(Cu-Si$O_2$), silica supported nickel-copper alloys(Ni/Cu-Si$O_2$) of several compositions with varying CO pressures(0.2 $torr{\sim}$50 torr) at room temperature and on pumping to vacumn at room temperature within the frequency range of 1500 $cm^{-1}{\sim}2500\;cm^{-1}$. Four bands(2059.6 $cm^{-1},\;{\sim}$2036.5 $cm^{-1},\;{\sim}$ 1868.7 $cm^{-1},\;{\sim}$ 1697.1 $cm^{-1}$) were observed for Ni-Si$O_2$, two bands($\sim$2115.5 $cm^{-1},\;{\sim}$1743.0 $cm^{-1}$) were observed for Cu-Si$O_2$ and five bands(${\sim}2123.2\;cm^{-1}$, 2059.6 $cm^{-1},\;{\sim}$2036.4 $cm^{-1},\;{\sim}$1899.5 $cm^{-1},\;{\sim}$1697.1 $cm^{-1}$) were observed for Ni/Cu-Si$O_2$. These absorption bands correspond with those of the previous reports approximately. The bands below 1800 $cm^{-1}$ were only observed with Ni metal or Ni/Cu alloy crystal plane containing step at room temperature and the ${\sim}1697.1\;cm^{-1}$ bands observed with Ni-Si$O_2$ and Ni/Cu-Si$O_2$ may be ascribed to CO molecule adsorbed on the adsorption sites near step. The bands below 2000 $cm^{-1}$ were rarely observed with Cu metal crystal plane at room temperature and the 1743.0 $cm^{-1}$ bands may be ascribed to CO molecule adsorbed on the adsorption sites near step. The band shifts of adsorbed CO with varing Cu contents from 0 to 0.5 mole fraction at the same CO pressure or at the same pumping time to vacumn were below 21 $cm^{-1}$. and comparatively small than those with other ⅠB metal addition. It may means ligand effect of Cu d electron is small.

Removal of Boron from Metallurgical Grade Silicon by Slag Treatment (금속급(金屬級) 실리콘에서 슬래그 처리(處理)에 의한 붕소(硼素)의 제거(除去))

  • In order to develop economical production process from metallurgical grade silicon(MG-Si) to solar grade(SOG-Si), removal of boron by slag treatment was investigated at 1823 K using CaO-$SiO_2$ based slags. In the present study boron removal ratio in CaO-$SiO_2$ stags and $CaCO_3-SiO_2$ slags were increased to 63% and 73% respectively with slag basicity (%CaO/$%SiO_2$). However, bubbling time with Ar gas of slag and metal was not affected on removal ratio of boron. The addition of $Na_2CO_3$ to CaO-$SiO_2$ slags did not improve the removal ratio of boron from molten silicon. Boron contend was decreased from 20.6 ppm to 1.03 ppm by three times treatment using $CaCO_3-SiO_2$ slag (basicity=1.2).

1H NMR Study of Aziridine Derivatives Coordinated to the Paramagnetic Undecatungstocobalto(II)silicate and -nickelo(II)silicate Anions

  • 1H NMR spectra of D2O solutions containing 2,2-dimethylaziridine (1) or 2-methylaziridine (2) and [SiW11COⅡO39]6- (SiW11Co) or [SiW11NiⅡO39]6- (SiW11Ni) exhibit separate signals for the free ligand and the complex, indicating that the ligand exchange is slow on the NMR time scale. Identified are two linkage isomers with the methyl group of 2 at trans or cis position with respect to the metal. The isotropic shifts of 1 and 2 coordinated to SiW11Ni originate mainly from the contact shifts, and they agree reasonably with the relative values reported for similar ligands coordinated to bis(2,4-pentanedionato)nickel(Ⅱ). The isotropic shifts for the SiW11Co complexes were separated into contact and pseudocontact contributions. The pseudocontact shifts show that (χ∥-χ⊥) is positive, while that for the SiW11Co complexes of pyridine derivatives is negative. This result indicates that the ordering of dxy and dxz, dyz orbitals in SiW11Co complexes can be reversed by ligands.

  • Sputter deposited CoCr(Mo)/Si film were studied with emphasis on the correlation between magnetic properties and crystallographic orientation. The perpendicular coercivities of CoCr films decreased with Si underlayer thickness, whereas those of CoCrMo films increased with Si underlayer thickness. It has been explained that additions of the larger atomic radius Mo atoms in CoCr films impedes crystal growth resulting in a decrease in grain size, thus this small grain size may induce high perpendicular coercivity. The c-axis alignment of CoCrMo film was improved due to addition of 2at.%Mo. It means CoCrMo layer grow self-epitaxial directly from orientation and structure of Si underlayer when the main layer grow on underlayer.

A study on the formation of cobalt silicide thin films in Co/Si systems with different capping layers (Co/Si 시스템에서 capping layer에 따른 코발트 실리사이드 박막의 형성에 관한 연구)

  • We investigated the role of the capping layers in the formation of the cobalt silicide in Co/Si systems with TiN and Ti capping layers and without capping layers. The Co/Si interfacial reactions and the phase transformations by the rapid thermal annealing (RTA) processes were observed by sheet resistance measurements, XRD, SIMS and TEM analyses for the clean silicon substrate as well as for the chemically oxidized silicon substrate by $H_2SO_4$. We observed the retardation of the cobalt disilicide formation in the Co/Si system with Ti capping layers. In the case of Co/$SiO_2$/Si system, cobalt silicide was formed by the Co/Si reaction due to with the dissociation of the oxide layer by the Ti capping layers.
