  • Recently, as a result of the progress in power electronics and magnet technology, the applications of inverter fed BLDC Motor have increased for industry and home appliance. Also because of the high efficiency, good acoustic noise characteristic, BLDC Motor applications are growing. However, BLDC Motor requires position sensor, which has many problems such as high cost, more space and difficult to install. Therefore, sensorless control algorithm is being studied. In this paper, sensorless algorithm for interior permanent magnet BLOC motor adaptable for home appliance is proposed. The maximum torque per amp operation with advance angle considering load torque and speed was simulated and verified through the experiment.

  • Unlike conventional building materials, the living building material (LBM) cube is composed of sand, gelatin, and cyanobacteria without cement. The surface of the LBM cube absorbs CO2 from the atmosphere by photosynthesis and is deposited in the form of CaCO3. In addition, the crystals generated in this process strengthened the gelatin-sand structure to enhance the compressive strength.

  • Extant literature has emphasized the role of citizen participation in creating a successful smart city. However, previous works are lacking in a systematic analysis of the specific mechanisms by which citizen participation makes a positive impact on smart city projects. We attempt to bridge the gap by focusing on the role of the living lab, a citizen-driven mechanism that has used innovative ideas, new technologies, and cooperation with various participants to address local problems. As co-creation is the common ground for smart cities and living labs in terms of citizen participation, we provide a theoretical framework in which the notion of co-creation mediates smart cities and living labs. To examine the living lab's effect of co-creation on smart cities, we conduct a comparative case study of two Northeast Asian cities: Taipei and Busan. We explore (1) the factors behind the different outcomes in these two cities, despite many similarities that might affect smart cities' effectiveness, and (2) the relationship between smart cities and living labs and how to systematically understand the interaction between the two. We find that living labs have played a key role in making Taipei's smart city projects effective and successful, which allows the city to keep showing a high level of performance. In contrast, citizens could not find channels to participate in such projects in Busan. We conclude that the living lab explains why the smart cities in Busan have been less successful than in Taipei.

  • This paper presents an analysis of the 3D microwave oven considering its forming. The results were compared with experimental data. Finite Element Method(FEM) using edge clement is employed for the analysis. For solving the large sparse system matrix equation was solved using the parallelized QMR method. Analysis of the 3d cavity has troublesome difficulties such as spurious solutions, too many memory and long computation time. We overcome this difficulties by using edge clement for spurious solutions and the parallelized QMR method by the aid of Paralle Virtual Machine(PVM) for the memory and computation time.

  • Recently, as a result of the progress in power electronics and microelectronics, the inverter technology is quickly developing. Also, by using the fast microprocessor and small-sized switching devices, such as IPM, the Inverter becomes more compact and cheap. This paper proposes an inexpensive and small-sized vector controller for induction motors using 87C196MC and IPM. The proposed inverter contributes further space-saving, and high performance features to motor drives system.

  • A flyback type power converter circuit for switched reluctance motor drives is presented. In this converter circuit, the energy extracted from an off going phase is stored in an additional capacitor. The energy stored is used to either be returned to the source frequently or energize the conducting phase during the conduction interval through the transformer. The additional switch to pass the energy stored in the capacitor to the source or the conducting phase is switched under a relatively low voltage condition. Its switching frequency is relatively high so that the size of the transformer can be reduced. The design guideline for the capacitor and the transformer is described. The effectiveness of the presented converter circuit is compared to other circuits through the analysis and experiment.

The Effect of the Computer-Based Cognitive Rehabilitation Program (CoTras) on the Cognitive Function and Daily Living Activities of Elderly Stroke Patients (전산화 인지재활 프로그램 (CoTras) 훈련이 노인 뇌졸중 환자의 인지기능 및 일상생활활동에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose : The objective of the current study was to evaluate the impact of the Computer-Based Cognitive Rehabilitation Program (CoTras) on the cognitive function and daily living activities of elderly and adult stroke patients. Methods : Twenty stroke patients were divided into two groups comprising 10 elderly stroke patients and 10 adult stroke patients. The CoTras was applied as the intervention for 30 minutes at a time, three times a week, for nine weeks (i.e., a total of 27 times), to both groups. The Neurobehavioral Cognitive Status Examination was used to assess cognitive function, and the Functional Independence Measure was utilized to evaluate daily living activities, prior to, during, and after the intervention. Results : The CoTras was demonstrated to have a statistically significant and positive effect on the cognitive function and daily living activities of stroke patients. However, the effect of the program on the restoration of weight-shifting capacity, as a component of the daily living activities of stroke patients, was without statistical significance. The program had a greater influence on improving the cognitive function and daily living activities of elderly stroke patients than adult stroke patients. Conclusion : This study makes a meaningful contribution to the literature on the topic as the intervention was demonstrated to lead to a more significant recovery of cognitive function and daily living activities in elderly stroke patients, compared to adult patients. Therefore, it is proposed that the CoTras should be used as a clinical intervention for elderly stroke patients. Future studies that evaluate the application of the CoTras, along with other occupation-based intervention programs, are warranted.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest the guideline by analysing and categorizing the case of sharing economy service especially the co-working and co-living space based on Europe. I did some literature research followed with evaluation of theoretical backgrounds, present conditions. Also, Some case research based on the keyword of 4th industrial revolution and the space categorized by their characteristics. The result indicate that co-working and co-living space's features correlated with their characteristics of the location and birth of digital nomad life. Each space has their flat-form community for the needs of closer cooperation between the user and user in common. I expect this study will become a good resource for upgrading domestic co-working and co-living space and also I hope that this study can guide follow-up next studies.
