In respect of global environment protection and efficient utilization of energy, co-generation systems, which have greatly higher efficiency than the other generations, have been developed and put to practical use. Assuming that the co-generation system would be operating in H-Department of Kwang-ju city, this paper calculates the difference between the heat and electricity rates by the conventional method and the co-generation system considers the cost of new investment and analyzes introduction economics based on the return on investment. The introduction is turned out to be recommendable, since the return of investment for co-generation equipment is about five years when the co-generation profits in heat and electricity rate. Additionally, accounting for interest rate drop, improvement of environmental matters or electricity rate increase, it is shown to be even more economical.

In this paper, a new barrier rib forming method of embossed barrier rib (EBR) formation process for the PDP rear panel was introduced. The process is mainly composed of green sheet fabrication, lamination of the green sheet on the rear glass panel having data electrodes, and roll embossing followed by firing. The EBR process has two advantages over the conventional barrier rib forming methods. One is the process requires less equipment investment than the conventional methods by about 20% of the current rear panel fabrication equipment investment owing to the simplified fabrication process. The other advantage is its reduced rear panel manufacturing cost by eliminating the time consuming and complicated processes and waste of materials in the conventional methods. In this study, general procedure of EBR fabrication process is described and the characteristics of prototype PDP using EBR panel are discussed.

This article aims at revealing the dynamic relationships between the energy R&D investment and economic growth in Korea. To achieve this goal, we reviewed the effects of energy R&D investments and tried to make the holistic interconnections for describing the feedback loops between energy R&D and economic system. Energy R&D investments develop the renewable energy, energy efficiency and $CO_2$ emission reductions technologies for accomplishing the national strategic targets. The rapid obsolescence of technologies makes the inefficiency and negative effects in governmental energy R&D investments.

This study was designed to find out the relations between the major investment decision-making behaviors and profitability of the hospital. A total of 57 hospitals were analyzed on this study. The major findings were as follows; 1. Among the types of the investment decision-making, major factors affecting the profitability were where the top management belongs among the defender, analyzer, prospector, and reactor type. Other factors were whether or not hospital analyzes which is more economical between the purchase by cash and lease of the medical equipment and whether or not hospital changes the decision before the actual investment. 2, Among the types of the investment decision-making, major factors affecting the financial structure and efficient operation of the assets were ranking of the priority and whether or not hospitals can get enough revenue and cash flow when hospitals have to borrow a big amount of fund from outside. 3. Among the financial indices regarding the financial stability, major factor affecting the profitability was fixed assets to long-tenn capital. Other factors affecting the financial structure and efficient operation of the assets were value added to medical equipment, normal profit to medical equipment, liability to total assets, current ratio, value added to payroll expenses. 4. Investment decision-making behaviors are partially influencing on the financial structure and efficient operation of the assets. However it was proved that the profitability was the most influencial factor than other factors related with the operation of the hospital. 5. To improve the irrational investment decision-making behaviors strategic management system should be introduced, and the top mamagement's investment decision-making style should be changed from reactor and analyser styles to prospector and reactor ones.

The purpose of this paper is to estimate the impact of foreign direct investment on environmental performance for 27 OECD countries using endogenous environmental policy model. The empirical test shows that with 1% increase in the ratio of inflow stock of foreign direct investment over domestic capital stock, emission on NOx and $CO_2$ will increase by 0.0071%(NOx) and 0.0165%($CO_2$) and 1% increase in the ratio of foreign capital stock induces 0.044%(fixed effect) and 0.047%(random effect) of economic growth. 1% increase of per labor total output increases 2.038%(fixed effect) or 1.890%(random effect) in reinforcement of environmental regulation. However, we could not confirm the Porter's hypothesis that the more strong environmental regulation leads technical innovation. The scale effects (0.0119, 0.0172) are estimated higher than the technical effects (-0.0048, -0.0007) in two pollutants (NOx, $CO_2$). It implies that each country needs to increase pollution abatement and control expenditure more aggressively to protect environment.

Nozzle ring is an important part of turbocharger which is applied to today's most diesel engines. Turbo charger nozzle ring is difficult to process and takes a high cost and a long time relatively. For this reason, it is largely produced by using a precision casting. Investment method, the representative technology of precision casting, has excellent dimensional accuracy and can produce complex shapes relatively easily. However, it is difficult to avoid the casting defects such as shrinkage cavity and short shot. This study is to predict the casting defects which could be occurred during the investment method by use of finite element analysis software and to design the process and mold of the marine turbocharger nozzle ring.

The study of environmental pollution plays an important role in controlling emissions in the production activities of FDI enterprises as well as export goods. Vietnam is a country with a large proportion of FDI contribution and high export value. Therefore, there should be studies to assess the actual effects of FDI and the openness of the economy (trade) on the environment. Therefore, the authors conduct research on the role of FDI and trade on environmental quality in Vietnam. With data collected from 1990 to 2018 (from the period of Vietnam's economy opening up) through the ARDL (Autoregressive Distributed Lag) model, the results show that FDI has a positive impact on CO2 emissions in the short term but has no impact on the long-term (In this study, CO2 is considered to represent environmental quality). The trade has a positive impact on CO2 emissions in both the short term and long term. The results of the study show the actual shortcomings of FDI as well as production activities in the export enterprises in Vietnam. From the results of this research, the author also provides the causes and remedies to control of CO2 emissions from two activities of foreign direct investment and trade.

The final energy consumption in the building sector in Korea represents almost 20% of the total energy consumption. Besides, Space heating and hot water generation in Korea are based on fossil fuels, with a serious environmental impact. This study describes thermal performance of heating demonstration system using close-loop ground source heat pump installed at Korean minjok leadership academy. The results of the experimental study, it retrieve the investment cost for 3years 8months and reduction amount of $CO_2$are 293,900 $kgCO_2$.
