소다석회유리의 CO2 레이저 스크라이빙 가공 (CO2 Laser Scribing Process of Soda Lime Glass)

  • This study reports the CW $CO_2$ laser scribing of soda lime glass. In this study, scribing experiments are carried out at different laser powers, scan speeds, and focal positions to investigate the effect of the process parameters on the interaction characteristics between a laser beam and glass. In particular, the interaction characteristics are analyzed and described with the input laser energy per unit length. According to the experimental results, the damage threshold for the glass surface was found to exist between 0.072 and 0.08 J/mm. The input laser energy in this region induced partial melting of the surface and grain-shaped cracks. These cracks tended to increase as the input laser energy increased. At the laser input energy larger than 1 J/mm, a huge crack propagating along the scan direction was produced, and the volume below the scribed area was fully melted. The growth of this crack finally resulted in the complete cutting of the glass at the input laser energy above 8 J/mm. It was found that both the width and depth of the scribed line increased with increasing input laser energy. For the beam focusing at the rear surface, the width of the scribed line varied irregularly. This could be ascribed to the increased asymmetry of the beam intensity distribution when the laser beam was focused at the rear surface. Under this condition, a large burr was only produced on one side of the scribed line.

A Study on the Formation of Imperfections in CW $CO_2$Laser Weld of Diamond Saw Blade

  • The main purpose of this study was to investigate the formation mechanisms of imperfections such as irregular humps, outer cavity and inner cavity in the laser fusion zone of diamond saw blade. Laser beam welding was conducted to join two parts of blade; mild steel shank and Fe-Co-Ni sintered tip. The variables were beam power and travel speed. The microstructure and elements distributions of specimens were analyzed with SEM, AES, EPMA and so on. It was found that these imperfections were responded to heat input. Irregular humps were reduced in 10.4∼l7.6kJ/m heat input range. However there were no clear evidences, which could explain the relations between humps formation and heat input. The number of outer cavity and inner cavity decreased as heat input was increased. Considering both possible defects formations mechanisms, it could be thought that outer cavity was caused by insufficient refill of keyhole, which was from rapid solidification of molten metal and fast molten metal flow to the rear keyhole wall at low heat input. More inner cavities were found near the interface of the fusion zone and sintered segment and in the bottom of the fusion zone. Inner cavity was mainly formed in the upper fusion zone at high heat input whereas was in the bottom at low heat input. Inner cavity was from trapping of coarsened preexist pores in the sintered tip and metal vapor due to rapid solidification of molten metal before the bubbles escaped.

일렉트로 가스 용접부의 기계적 성질에 미치는 Mn 및 입열량의 영향 (Effects of Mn and Heat-input on the Mechanical Properties of EGW Welds)

  • This paper is concerned with effects of Mn and heat-input on the mechanical properties of EGW welds. Four different kinds of welding consumables were fabricated by varying Mn contents such as 1.3, 1.5, 1.7, 2.0%Mn and each consumable was welded for EGW on four heat-input conditions between 190 and 340 KJ/Cm. Mn contents were decreased as heat-input increases and alloy elements (C, Si, Ti, B, Al) to deoxidize easily also revealed similar tendency to Mn. Their microstructure, Charpy impact property and strength were investigated, and it is found that Charpy impact property and strength exhibit a strong dependence on change of microstructure by Mn contents and heat-input. The increase of Mn contents or the decrease of heat-input made the microstructure fine and increase volume fraction of acicular ferrite, thereby leading to the great improvement of Charpy impact property and strength. In case of single EGW, optimum Mn contents are over 1.7% for the toughness and strength.

Co-located and space-shared multiple-input multiple-output antenna module and its applications in 12 × 12 multiple-input multiple-output systems

  • In this study, we developed a co-located and space-shared multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antenna module with a modular design and high integration level. The proposed antenna pair includes a half-wavelength loop antenna and a dipole-type antenna printed on the front and back sides of a compact modular board. Owing to their modal orthogonality, these two independent antenna elements are highly self-isolated and free of additional decoupling components, even though they are assembled at the same location and within the same space. Thus, the proposed antenna is attractive in 5G MIMO systems. Furthermore, the proposed co-located and space-shared MIMO antenna module was employed in a 5G smartphone to verify their radiation and diversity performances. A 12 × 12 MIMO antenna system was simulated and fabricated using the proposed module. Based on the results, the proposed module can be employed in large-scale MIMO antenna systems for current and future terminal devices owing to its high integration, compactness, simple implementation, and inherent isolation.

환경산업연관표 2005를 이용한 산업부문의 이산화탄소(CO2) 배출 분석 (CO2 Emission Structure Analysis of Industrial Sector with Environmental Input-Output Table 2005)

  • 본 논문에서는 우리나라의 2005년 환경산업연관표(76개의 내생부문, 21개의 에너지원)를 작성하고, 중간수요부문과 최종수요부문을 대상으로 중간투입액기준의 $CO_2$ 원단위, 열량기준의 $CO_2$ 원단위, 유발 $CO_2$ 발생량을 추정하고, 경제주체간 및 산업간의 상품생산과 흐름에 수반되는 에너지소비와 $CO_2$의 흐름을 분석하였다. $CO_2$ 원단위의 비교에 따르면 최종수요부문이 더 높은 열량을 갖는 에너지원을 사용하며, 중간수요부문이 환경친화 정도가 상대적으로 낮은 에너지원을 사용하여 동일 열량에 대해서 $CO_2$를 더 배출시키고 있다. 유발 $CO_2$ 발생량이 높은 산업은 화력발전($32.587CO_2-g$/원), 시멘트($10.370CO_2-g$/원), 도로운송($7.255CO_2-g$/원), 코크스 및 기타석탄제품($5.791CO_2-g$/원), 증기 온수공급업 수도($4.575CO_2-g$/원)이다. 높은 $CO_2$ 원단위의 산업들의 $CO_2$ 원단위를 저감시키는 것은 해당산업의 환경친화성을 높이는 것과 함께, 경제 전체의 환경친화성을 높인다. 더하여 선철 및 조강처럼 낮은 $CO_2$ 원단위를 갖지만 높은 영향력계수와 감응도계수를 갖는 산업의 $CO_2$ 원단위도 낮추어야 한다. 이 산업들은 다른 산업에게, 그리고 다른 산업으로부터 상대적으로 큰 영향을 받기 때문에 $CO_2$ 원단위가 낮더라도 환경친화성을 갖추어야 유발 $CO_2$ 발생량을 낮출 수 있다.

Hardware Software Co-Simulation of the Multiple Image Encryption Technique Using the Xilinx System Generator

  • Hardware-Software co-simulation of a multiple image encryption technique shall be described in this paper. Our proposed multiple image encryption technique is based on the Latin Square Image Cipher (LSIC). First, a carrier image that is based on the Latin Square is generated by using 256-bits of length key. The XOR operation is applied between an input image and the Latin Square Image to generate an encrypted image. Then, the XOR operation is applied between the encrypted image and the second input image to encrypt the second image. This process is continues until the nth input image is encrypted. We achieved hardware co-simulation of the proposed multiple image encryption technique by using the Xilinx System Generator (XSG). This encryption technique is modeled using Simulink and XSG Block set and synthesized onto Virtex 2 pro FPGA device. We validated our proposed technique by using the hardware software co-simulation method.

  • In this paper A switched mode AC/DC three phase boost converter with high power factor and sinusoidal input current waveform is analyzed and simulated. The proposed converter retain high power factor and sinusoidal input current waveform even under electric arc welder load. It is shown that experimental result and simulation waveform yield a sinusoidal input current waveform at high power factor.

  • In this study, the formation mechanism of discontinuities in the laser fusion zone of diamond saw blade was investigated. $CO_2$ laser weldings were conducted along the butt between Fe base sintered tip and carbon steel shank with sets of variable welding parameters. The effect of heat input on irregular humps, outer cavity, inner cavity and bond strengh was evaluated. The optimum heat input to have a proper humps was in the range of 10.4~$17.6kJm_{-1}$. With increasing heat input, both outer and inner cavities were reduced. The outer cavity was caused by insufficient refill of keyhole, while inner cavity was caused by trapping of bubble in molten metal. The bubble came from sintered tip and intensive vaporization at bottom tip of the keyhole. A gas formation and low melting point element vaporization were not occurred during welding. We could not find any relationship between bond strength and amount of discontinuities. Because the fracture were occurred in not only sintered tip but also carbon steel shank due to hardness distributions.

  • This paper describes an implementation of a single phase PWM ac/dc converter whose control scheme can be directly applied to the rectification of ac traction system. Power circuit using self-commutated switching devices(GTO) provides input power factor correction with dc voltage regulation. Effective compensation of load variations and line disturbance can be accomplished by real time instantaneous control of ac input current and dc link voltage using 32 bit floating point DSP. Parallel operation of two converters reduces the input line current ripple. Experimental results of the two parallel converter system are shown in the 20KW range for the verification of the system.

A Study on the Dynamic Relationship between Cultural Industry and Economic Growth

  • The cultural industry is treated as the sunrise industry in modern society. It has taken an increasing role in promoting the economic growth. Due to this, this paper attempts to explore the dynamic relationship between cultural industry and the economic growth. On the grounds of Cobb-Douglas production function, the cultural industry is regarded as a determinant such as the labor input and the capital input to impact the economic growth. Meanwhile, the quarterly datum form 2000-Q1 to 2017-Q4 are employed to perform an empirical analysis via the vector error correction model. The GDP is treated as an independent variable. The input of capital, the input of labor and the total input of cultural industry are treated as dependent variables. Furthermore, a menu of statistical approaches such as the co-integration test and the impulse response function will be used to testify the dynamic relationship between cultural industry and economic growth. Via the Johansen co-integration test, the results report that the cultural industry has a obviously positive effect on economic growth. Through the vector error correction estimation, the results also report that the cultural industry also has a significantly positive effect on economic growth, but less than that of the Johansen co-integration test. This paper provides a view that the cultural industry is a kind of a determinant to promote the economic growth. Therefore, the China's government should pay much attention to the cultural industry construction.
