  • Cloud computing services changed the way the data are managed across the healthcare system that can improve patient care. Currently, most healthcare organizations are using cloud-based applications and related services to deliver better healthcare facilities. But architecting a cloud-based healthcare system needs deep knowledge about the working nature of these services and the requirements of the healthcare environment. The success is based on the usage of appropriate cloud services in the architecture to manage the data flow across the healthcare system.Cloud service providers offer a wide variety of services to ingest, store and process healthcare data securely. The top three public cloud providers- Amazon, Google, and Microsoft offers advanced cloud services for the solution that the healthcare industry is looking for. This article proposes a framework that can effectively utilize cloud services to handle the data flow among the various stages of the healthcare infrastructure. The useful cloud services for ingesting, storing and analyzing the healthcare data for the proposed framework, from the top three cloud providers are listed in this work. Finally, a cloud-based healthcare architecture using Amazon Cloud Services is constructed for reference.

  • Driven by security and real-time demands of Internet of Things (IoT), the timing of fog computing and edge computing have gradually come into place. Gateways bear more nearby computing, storage, analysis and as an intelligent broker of the whole computing lifecycle in between local devices and the remote cloud. In fog computing, the edge broker requires X-aware capabilities that combines software programmability, stream processing, hardware optimization and various connectivity to deal with such as security, data abstraction, network latency, service classification and workload allocation strategy. The prosperous of Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) pushes the possibility of gateway capabilities further landed. In this paper, we propose a software-defined gateway (SDG) scheme for fog computing paradigm termed as Fog Computing Zero-Knowledge Gateway that strengthens data protection and resilience merits designed for industrial internet of things or highly privacy concerned hybrid cloud scenarios. It is a proxy for fog nodes and able to integrate with existing commodity gateways. The contribution is that it converts Privacy-Enhancing Technologies rules into provable statements without knowing original sensitive data and guarantees privacy rules applied to the sensitive data before being propagated while preventing potential leakage threats. Some logical functions can be offloaded to any programmable micro-controller embedded to achieve higher computing efficiency.

  • Attribute-based encryption (ABE) is a promising cryptographic primitive for implementing fine-grained data sharing in cloud computing. However, before ABE can be widely deployed in practical cloud storage systems, a challenging issue with regard to attributes and user revocation has to be addressed. To our knowledge, most of the existing ABE schemes fail to support flexible and direct revocation owing to the burdensome update of attribute secret keys and all the ciphertexts. Aiming at tackling the challenge above, we formalize the notion of ciphertext-policy ABE supporting flexible and direct revocation (FDR-CP-ABE), and present a concrete construction. The proposed scheme supports direct attribute and user revocation. To achieve this goal, we introduce an auxiliary function to determine the ciphertexts involved in revocation events, and then only update these involved ciphertexts by adopting the technique of broadcast encryption. Furthermore, our construction is proven secure in the standard model. Theoretical analysis and experimental results indicate that FDR-CP-ABE outperforms the previous revocation-related methods.

  • Openstack is an open source software that enables developers to build IaaS(Infrastructure as a Service) cloud platforms. Openstack can virtualize servers, networks and storages, and provide them to users. This paper proposes the structure of Openstack cloud storage system applying Infiniband to solve bottlenecking that may occur between server and storage nodes when the server performs an I/O operation. Furthermore, we implement all flash array based high-performance Cinder storage volumes which can be used at Nova virtual machines by applying distributed RAID-60 structures to three 8-bay SSD storages and show that Infiniband storage networks applied to Openstack is suitable for virtualizing high-performance storage.

  • With the enhancements in existing major industries, cloud computing-based converging services have been created, as well as value-added industries. A variety of converging services are now provided, from personalized services up to industrial services. In Korea, they have become the driving force behind existing industries throughout the whole economy, but mainly in finance, mobile systems, social computing, and home services, based on cloud services. However, not only denial of service (DOS) and distributed DOS (DDOS) attacks have occurred, but also attack techniques targeting core data in storage servers. Even security threats that are hardly detected, such as multiple attacks on a certain target, APT, and backdoor penetration have also occurred. To supplement defenses against these, in this article, a protocol for authority management is designed to provide users with safe storage services. This protocol was studied in cases of integration between a cloud environment and big data-based technology, security threats, and their requirements. Also studied were amalgamation examples and their requirements in technology-based cloud environments and big data. With the protocol suggested, based on this, security was analyzed for attack techniques that occur in the existing cloud environment, as well as big data-based techniques, in order to find improvements in session key development of approximately 55%.

  • Mobile Cloud Computing has become a promising computing platform. It moves users' data to the centralized large data centers for users' mobile devices to conveniently access. Since the data storage service may not be fully trusted, many public verification algorithms are proposed to check the data integrity. However, these algorithms hardly consider the huge computational burden for the verifiers with resource-constrained mobile devices to execute the verification tasks. We propose an energy-efficient algorithm for assigning verification tasks (EEAVT) to optimize the energy consumption and assign the verification tasks by elastic and customizable ways. The algorithm prioritizes verification tasks according to the expected finish time of the verification, and assigns the number of checked blocks referring to devices' residual energy and available operation time. Theoretical analysis and experiment evaluation show that our algorithm not only shortens the verification finish time, but also decreases energy consumption, thus improving the efficiency and reliability of the verification.

  • Virtualisation in cloud computing is vital for maintaining maximum resource utilization and easy access to operation and storage management of components. Platform virtualisation technology has the potential to be easily implemented with the support of scalability and security, which are the most important components for cloud-based services. Virtual resources must be allocated to a centralized pool called the cloud, and it is considered as cloud computing only when the virtual resources are orchestrated through management and automation software. Therefore, research and development on the latest technology for such a virtualisation platform provides both academia and industry the scope to deploy the fastest and most reliable technology in limited hardware resource. In this research, we reviewed and compared the popular current technologies for network and service management and automation technology.

  • Cloud computing technologies are utilized and merged in various domains. Cloud computing technology-based personal cloud service technologies provide mobility and free access by using user centered storages and smart devices such like smart phones and table PCs. Therefore, we should overcome limits on the storage by solving the capacity problems of devices to provide security services in the personal cloud environments It can be addressable to provide the convenience of various security technologies. However, there are some security threats inherited from existing cloud environments and the possibilities of information leakage when devices are lost or stolen. Therefore, we designed a framework for providing secure cloud services by adding objects, such as user authorization, access tokens, set permissions by key generation, and key management assignments, for user management in personal cloud environments. We analyzed the stability of the proposed framework in terms of irreverent use and abuse, access to insiders, and data loss or leakage. And we evaluated the proposed framework in terms of the security with access control requirements in personal cloud environments.
