  • The purpose of this study is to measure displacements that occurs on a surface and interior of slope model and the shape when the slope is destroyed at vibration experiment of the slope model using close range photogrammetry. The circle targets and sphere targets are installed on a chamber and a slope model, while the earthquake wave are applied in regular time interval. The close range photogrammetric images are acquired in each displacements step until the slope model is destroyed. Those photos are processed by image processing method and the center points of targets are automatically extracted. Furthermore, the three-dimensional coordinates of targets are calculated by image orientation and bundle adjustment processing. As a result, amount of displacement at each level is precisely measured and provided the basic information for assessing the slope stability using three-dimensional measurement of the target movement and slope destruction.

  • Significant developments in the use of digital imagery for close-range photogrammetric metrology have occured in the last few years because of technological advances in digital image processing. Present day needs for applications of digital image processing technique to measurements of photographs obtained with non-metric camera at reduced cost, automation and convenience. In order for this application to be useful, a detailed procedure must be developed. Investigation of this study is given to the detailed procedure for the digital measurements of the object space data from the scanned non-metric photographs.

  • This study is aimed to suggest the method, color channel seperation, can match the common points in real-time automatically. Image coordinates which was calculated from the acquired image with CCDcamera in this study is checked with two methods; check the accuracy of image coordinate and common point matching through correct sort. In conclusion of check, The RMSE of object coordinate which is calculated by photogrammetry program with image coordinate is in the expect RMSE of close-range photogrammetry, and Match-ing of common point is also performed correctly by using sort. For these reason, this color channel separation method is adequate for the acquisition of accurate image coordinates and the matching of the common points. I think that this method will be useful for the fields of industry which need fast-correct processing with acquired information in real-time.

  • Population of urban areas is rapidly increased due to urbanization. This situation leads to lack of surface space. So, underground space has been developed for resolving the problem of congested urban areas. Many studies have researched for this situation. However, previous studies mainly focused on behaviour of structures. Researches about behaviour of soil are lacked. For this reason, this study has investigated interactive behaviour between embedded pile and its surrounding ground due to tunnelling. Soil deformation is observed by the close range photogrammetric method and image processing in the model test. These data are compared with numerical analysis.

  • For the close range digital photogrammetry, multi-step procedures should be embodied in an integrated system. However, it is hard to construct an Integrated system through conventional procedural processing. Using Object Oriented Programming(OOP), photogrammetric processings can be classified with corresponding subjects and it is easy to construct an integrated system lot digital photogrammetry as well as to add the newly developed classes. In this study, the equation of 3-dimensional mathematic model is developed to make an immediate calibration of the CCD camera, the focus distance of which varies according to the distance of the object. Classes for the input and output of images are also generated to carry out the close range digital photogrammetric procedures by OOP. Image matching, coordinate transformation, dirct linear transformation and bundle adjustment are performed by producing classes corresponding to each part of data processing. The bundle adjustment, which adds the principle coordinate and focal length term to the non-photogrammetric CCD camera, is found to increase usability of the CCD camera and the accuracy of object positioning. In conclusion, classes and their hierarchies in the digital photogrammetry are designed to manage multi-step procedures using OOP and close range digital photogrammetric process is implemented using CCD camera in an integrated System.

  • Automation of observation and positioning of fiducial marks is made possible with the application of image matching technique, developed through the cooperative research effort of computer vision and digital photogrammetry. The major problem in such automation effort is to minimize the computing time and to increase the positional accuracy. Except for scanning and ground control surveying, the interior orientation process was automated in this study, through the development of an algorithm which applies the image matching and image processing techniques. The developed system was applied to close-range photogrammetry and the analysis of the results showed 54% improvement in processing time. For fiducial mark observation during interior orientation, the Laplacian of Gaussian transformation and the Hough transformation were applied to determine the accurate position of the center point, and the correlation matching and the least squares matching method were then applied to improve the accuracy of automated observation of fiducial marks. Image pyramid concept was applied to reduce the computing time of automated positioning of fiducial mark.

  • The objective of this paper is to simulate the dynamic behavior of a floating structure model, using image processing and close-range photogrammetry, instead of the contact sensors. Previously, the movement of structure was presented through the exterior orientation estimation of a single camera by space resection. The inverse resection yields the 6 orientation parameters of the floating structure, with respect to the camera coordinate system. The single camera solution is of interest in applications characterized by restriction in term of costs, unfavorable observation conditions, or synchronization demands when using multiple cameras. This article discusses the theoretical determinations of camera exterior orientation based on Direct Linear Transformation and photogrammetric resection using least squares adjustment. The proposed method was used to monitor the motion of a floating model. The results of six degrees of freedom (6-DOF) by inverse resection show that the appropriate initial values by DLT can be effectually applied in least squares adjustment, to obtain the precision of exterior orientation parameters. Additionally, a comparison between the close-range photogrammetry and total station results was feasibly verified. Therefore, the proposed method can be considered as an efficient solution to simulating the movement of floating structure.

  • In congested urban areas, constructions of tunnel structures have became necessary due to a lack of surface space. The excavation of any tunnel generated the ground disturbances of surrounding ground and displacements is major concern. Therefore, a study of tunnel stability is necessary. In this study, the authors have investigated the stability and failure pattern of tunnel through the model tunnel test. In this study, the close range photogrammetry was used to measure the ground deformation. The measured data was converted to displacement vectors and contours. And then it compared to FE analysis and empirical formula. In addition, this study presented the comparison between steel pipe reinforced model tunnel and unreinforced model tunnel. The ground deformation for both the steel pipe reinforced model tunnel and the unreinforced model tunnel was analysed.

  • In order to conserve architecture accurately as original feature, we need to get the data which is measured in detail about the information of size, position, type, shape, and other terms for architectures. Recently, we need to get data fast and correctly, to compose and to update the database of geographic information system, but using existing method. it is difficult to update the data effectively in the rapid development of information industry. In this study, therefore, It is measured precisely architecture using accurate close-range photogrammetry The aims of this study are real-measured plan by processing acquired image through multi-image matching method if photogrammetry, suggesting the method which is able to draw in detail front plane and plane of well-established architecture, and giving data to obtain accurate size and 3-D coordinate using analytical method.

This proposed method is applied to monitor motions of a floating model. The results of 6DOF (Six Degrees of Freedom) from the inverse resection were signified that applying appropriate initial values from DLT in the least square adjustment is effective in obtaining precise exterior orientation parameters. Therefore, the proposed method can be concluded as an efficient solution to simulate movements of the floating structure.
