Kaiso is a Pox Virus and Zinc Finger (POZ-ZF) transcription factor with bi-modal DNA-binding specificity. Here, we demonstrated that Kaiso expression is inversely correlated with glucocorticoid receptor (GR) expression in breast carcinomas. Knockdown of Kaiso increased GR expression, while overexpression of Kaiso inhibited GR expression in breast cancer cells. Furthermore, Kaiso repressed GR proximal promoter-reporter activity in a dose-dependent manner. Remarkably, ChIP experiments demonstrated that endogenous Kaiso was associated with the GR promoter sequence in a methylation-dependent manner. Since glucocorticoids inhibit chemotherapyinduced apoptosis and have been widely used as a co-treatment of patients with breast cancer, we assessed the role of Kasio in GR-mediated anti-apoptotic effects. We found that overexpression of Kaiso attenuated the anti-apoptotic effects of glucocorticoids in breast cancer cells. Our findings suggest that GR is a putative target gene of Kaiso and suggest Kaiso to be a potential therapeutic target in GC-combination chemotherapy in breast cancer.
Clinical laboratory testing plays a crucial role in the detection, diagnosis, and treatment of disease. Clinical laboratory scientists evaluate test results, develop and modify procedures, and establish and monitor programs, to ensure the accuracy of tests. It is clear that over the past decade the role of the clinical laboratory scientists has expanded and this process will be continued into the future. The purpose of this study is to clarify the factors influencing the job performance of clinical laboratory scientists and aim to provide the role and duties of clinical laboratory scientists. To examine the frequency of work context and the importance of task, the surveys were conducted on 168 clinical laboratory scientists. The questionnaire items were used 10 score by Likert scale. According to the results of this study, the important factor affecting the job performance was "Analyze laboratory findings to check the accuracy of the results", and the next factors were "Establish and monitor quality assurance programs", "Enter data from analyzer into computer", "Calibrate and maintain equipment". And the factors of "repeating same tasks" and "spend time making repetitive motions" were answered the highest. This study will provide strategies for improving work environment, developing education curriculum and method, and role of clinical laboratory scientists. We must continually upgrade our knowledge, and identify the new trends in technology and science and accept changes.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the correlation between level of professional autonomy and clinical decision making abilities in clinical nurses, and to provide basic information for promoting competency nurses in making independent decisions. Method: Data were collected from July 1 to July 18, 2008, and participants were 202 clinical nurses in general hospitals. Collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics: frequency and percentage and Pearson correlation coefficients with the SPSS WIN 14.0 program. Results: The professional autonomy index for the nurses was 159.63 points. The clinical decision making ability index was 119.79 points. The most highly ranked factor in clinical decision making was search for information and unbiased assimilation of new information. There was a statistically significant difference in professional autonomy according to age, clinical experience, and type of duty. Relation between level of professional autonomy and clinical decision making showed a positive correlation. Conclusion: As a results show a significant correlation between professional autonomy and clinical decision making in clinical nurses, improvement in professional autonomy of clinical nurses, would be promoted through continuous support and training.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to validate the Korean version of shortened Nursing Decision-Making Instrument developed by Lauri & $Salanter{\ddot{a}}$(2002). Methods: The subjects were 247 nurses working in eight hospitals of Korea. Data were collected by questionnaires from June to July, 2012 and were analyzed by Principal Component Analysis for construct validity and Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ coefficient for reliability. Results: Factor loadings of the four subscales ranged from .32 to .73. The explained variance from the four factors was 48.54% of the total variance. The factors were named 'implementation of plan, monitoring and evaluation', 'plans of action', 'data collection', and 'data processing and identification'. The first factor consisted of 6 items which explained 13.21% of the total variance and the second factor contained 8 items. The Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ coefficients of the four subscales were from .64 to .81. Conclusion: The Korean version of the shortened Nursing Decision-Making Instrument has satisfactory construct validity and reliability. However, that the scores of the analytic items weren't reversed unlike the analysis method of the original tools is the biggest limitation of this study. In addition, based on the fact that there were several discrepancies for item interpretation of Korean comparing to the findings of the instrument development study, repetitive researches would be suggested.
While indirect targeting strategies using reporter-genes are taking center stage in current molecular imaging research, another vital strategy has long involved direct imaging of specific receptors using radiolabeled ligands. Recently, there is renewal of immense interest in this area with particular attention to the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), a transmembrane glycoprotein critically involved in the regulation of many cellular functions and malignancies. Recently, two novel classes of EGFR-targeting anticancer drugs have entered clinical trials with great expectations. These are monoclonal antibodies such as cetuximab that target the extracellular domain, and small molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitors such as gefitinib (lressa) and erlotinib (Tarceva) that target the catalytic domain of the receptor. However, early results have showed disappointing survival benefits, disclosing a major challenge for this therapeutic strategy; namely, the need to identify tumors that are most likely to respond to the agents. To address this important clinical issue, several noninvasive imaging techniques are under investigation including radiolabeled probes based on small molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitors, anti-EGFR antibodies, and EGF peptides. This review describes the current status, limitations, and future prospects in the development of radiotracer methods for EGFR imaging.

The purpose of this study was to find out whether there was a meaningful change in the learning perception and interpersonal relations of nursing students after completing clinical practice. Participants were 32 nursing students in the third grade. The research data were collected by questionnaire consisting of interpersonal relations and learning perception. The analysis of data was analyzed by SPSS 21 Version. General characteristics were analyzed by descriptive statistics, correlation between variables was analyzed by Pearson's relation, and differences of variables before and after clinical practice were analyzed by paired t-test. The results of the study are as follows. In clinical practice, interpersonal abilities showed a significant correlation with learning outcomes (R =.351, p =.049). The interpersonal abilities of nursing students improved significantly(t =2.264, p =.13) after completion of clinical practice. Nursing college students recognized that their interpersonal abilities had improved after completion of clinical practice, and the improvement of interpersonal abilities was statistically supported. Considering that the interpersonal relationship was an important factor in the clinical practice related stress of the nursing college students, it was meaningful that the interpersonal ability improved after the clinical practice. The positive correlation between interpersonal abilities and learning perceptions in clinical practice of nursing college students suggests future directions for future research. The results of this study will provide basic data on education that will enhance the satisfaction of students' clinical practice and improve their learning outcomes.

Purpose: The COVID-19 pandemic has increased the importance of nurses' clinical performance, and accordingly, nursing educators have emphasized students' clinical practice and performance. This study developed a Clinical Practice Self-Efficacy Scale for nursing students and examined its psychometric properties. Methods: The authors reviewed instruments for selecting items for the scale in the areas of clinical skills, communication, infection control, safety, and nursing process. After preliminary items were selected, ten experts consisting of nursing professors and clinical nurses reviewed the items considering Korean clinical and educational situations. The data for the psychometric evaluation was collected from 257 nursing students in their 2nd, 3rd, and 4th years and then analyzed. Results: The confirmatory factor analysis showed that the goodness of fit of this scale with five factors represented by 40 items was appropriate. The significant positive correlations with general self-efficacy indicated sound construct validity. The senior nursing students showed higher scores than others, as we expected. Cronbach's alpha was .94. Conclusion: The Clinical Practice Self-Efficacy Scale is appropriate for measuring Korean nursing students' self-efficacy of clinical practice. It is expected to act as a good tool to measure the effects of clinical practice education.

Objectives and Importance : The present study investigated the levels of basic fibroblast growth factor(bFGF) in the CSF of patients with moyamoya disease and its clinical significance. Methods : The levels of bFGF in CSF, taken from 26 hemispheres of 14 moyamoya patients and 20 patients without vascular anomaly(control group), were measured by an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. We analyzed the correlation between the level of bFGF and the clinical factors such as age, onset pattern, development of neovascularization, and cerebral circulation. Results : The CSF of moyamoya patients contained a high concentration of bFGF to a significant extent. The bFGF level was apparently elevated in the patients in whom neovascularization from indirect revascularization, such as modified encephalo-duro-arterio-synangiosis(EDAS) was well developed. A linear correlation between the values of bFGF and clinical progression was noted. Conclusions : The elevation of bFGF in moyamoya disease seems to be specific. Clinically, the bFGF level may be considered a useful indicator to predict the efficacy of indirect revascularization.
