  • The purpose of this study was to examine the factors related to satisfaction of users for the order communication system (OCS). The subjects of this study were 98 clerks at Chosun university hospital. The instruments used for this study were the conveniency and the practical application of the data developed by Lee, the satisfaction level developed by Sea Seang-mi and Kim in-sook. The data was analyzed by using the t-test, ANOVA, Pearson Correlation, Stepwise Multiple Regression with SPSS 10.0 program. The mean scores of the conveniency, the practical application of the data and the satisfaction level of user for the OCS was 3.28, 3.29 and 3.34, respectively. In general characteristics of the respondents, influencing factors to the perceived the conveniency of user for the OCS were gender, career and department. In general characteristics of the respondents, influencing factors to the perceived the practical application of the data of user for the OCS were department. In general, characteristics of the respondents, influencing factors to the perceived the satisfaction level of user for the OCS were gender, career and department. The correlation between the satisfaction level and the practical application of the data were statistically significant. The main factors influencing to the satisfaction level of user for the OCS were the practical application of the data (90.3%). In conclusion, The main factors influencing to the satisfaction level of user for the OCS were the practical application of the data. Therefore, it is recommended that guidebooks of user for the OCS or various OCS programs to promote the satisfaction level of user for the OCS and to improve the satisfaction level of user for the OCS should be developed.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to test the effects of clinical practice in school on clinical competence in nurse. Method: This study used a quasi experimental post-test design. Data were collected after post-test from April 1, 2005 to May 30, 2005 and from 73 clinical nurses(53 experimental group, 20 control group) who work for 4 General hospitals. Data were analyzed using SPSSWIN 11.5 with $X^2$-test, t-test, Mann-Whitney U-test, and stepwise multiple regression. The experimental group participated in treatment : 4-week consecutive clinical nursing education with preceptor in schooling, and the control group participated in treatment : traditional clinical nursing education with preceptor in schooling. Results: Clinical competence were significantly different between experimental and control groups(t=3.221, p=.002). Clinical competence in nurse is effected by satisfaction of clinical practice in schooling in experimental group(F=14.781, p=.000). Conclusion: 4-week consecutive clinical nursing education with preceptor has an effect on clinical competence in nurse. Therefore we should spread and reinforce the 4-week consecutive clinical nursing education program for improving clinical competence of nurse.

  • This study aims to explore the meanings of clinical expert nurse's professional experience. This study was based on a phenomenological approach. All participants were working at S-hospital, located in Seoul. Data were collected through in-depth interviews which were performed from October 2003 to September 2003. Interviews lasted one and half hours and data were analysed by Giorgi method.Four main meanings were identified: 1) scientific clinical nursing practice, 2) value oriented clinical nursing practice, 3) collaborative clinical nursing practice and 4) proactive clinical nursing practice. The results of this study showed that there were clinical expert nurse's nursing activites in South Korea. In order to develop the professionalims or experts of the clinical nursing practice, specialized programs stimulating nurse's personal effort and systmemic education and institutional programs are needed.

  • With the help of information technology, it is the most important to collect clinical data correctly in clinical trials. For this, recently, in many pharmaceutical companies and Clinical Research Organizations (CRO) have tried to adopt an Electronic Case Report Form (eCRF) system. The eCRF system is a computerized system designed for collecting and managing clinical data in clinical trials. Although the eCRF is recognized as a significant system for clinical trials, until now there are no widely useable, due to the huge effort and expense at the initiatory stage of adopting eCRF system. In this study, we inquired the use of eCRF system developed for clinical trial at Korea Institute of Oriental Medicine. Especially, we focused on the time required for entering clinical data into the eCRF, hours of use, and the number of queries according to the time flow.

Methods : We have got the information of clinical trial center or clinical collaboration center by site invitation, search of paper and reports and internet exploration for the domestic or foreign site. Results : Coordination center for clinical trial usually involves every steps of clinical trials, such as development of Case Report From (CRF), design of study, calculation of sample size, randomization, maintenance of blinding, monitoring and audit of the resource document, data and CRF, data entry, quality control of data, analysis and report. Conclusions : The body needs several aresa of experts, which are epidemiologists, biostatisticians, research nurses for coordination, data manager and programmer, and administrator. This body would be enhance and help he clinical researches including clinical trials in TKM.

  • The purpose of this study was designed to analyze the influencing factors on nursing perspectives and satisfaction of clinical practice in nursing students. The data was collected through structured questionnaire. The subjects in this study were 192 nursing students who had been educated in three colleges and one university in Kwangju. Data collection was done from January to February, 1999. The data was analyzed by using SAS program. The results from this study were as follows; 1. The mean score of total nursing perspectives was $4.24{\pm}0.40$ and that of total clinical practice satisfaction was $2.63{\pm}0.38$. 2. Self experience of admission was significant in satisfaction of clinical practice(t=2.09, p=.03). 3. Nursing perspectives by religion was significant(t=2.26, p=.02). 4. The nursing perspectives was significant according to the classifications of clinical instructor(F=4.50, p=.01) and the most difficult interpersonal relationships of the clinical practice(F=4.14, p=.02). 5. The satisfaction of clinical practice was significant according to the most difficult interpersonal relationships of the clinical practice(F=3.61, p=.03). 6. The correlation between the scores of nursing perspectives and satisfaction of clinical practice was not significant(r=.191, p=.060). In conclusion, it was found that the more positive interpersonal relationships of clinical practice, the more higher degree of perceived satisfaction of clinical practice and nursing perspectives. And the clinical instructors should play a good role model to gain positive satisfaction of clinical practice perceived by nursing students.

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study was to identify the mediation effect of a positive stress coping strategy between clinical practice stress and clinical practice satisfaction in nursing students. Methods : In this study, data was collected from 248 nursing students at K University in South Korea from October of 2015 to November of 2015. The collected data was analyzed using the SPSS 22.0 Statistics Program. Results : Clinical practice stress and a positive stress coping strategy were significant predictors of clinical practice satisfaction (${\beta}$=.442, p<.001). The explanatory power of the measure of clinical practice satisfaction was increased to 29.3% (p<.001) with solely clinical practice stress, and it reached 44.2% (p<.001) when a positive stress coping strategy was reflected. The results of this study confirmed that a positive stress coping strategy has a mediation effect on clinical practice stress and clinical practice satisfaction levels. Conclusions : It is necessary to develop a program to take advantage of positive stress coping skills so that nursing college students can smoothly overcome stress during their clinical training and thus improve their clinical practice experience.

  • In clinical decision support system(CDSS), unlike rule-based expert method, appropriate data-driven machine learning method can easily provide the information of individual feature(clinical test) for disease classification. However, currently developed methods focus on the improvement of the classification accuracy for diagnosis. With the analysis of feature importance in classification, one may infer the novel clinical test sets which highly differentiate the specific diseases or disease states. In this background, we introduce a novel CDSS that integrate a classifier and feature selection module together. Random forest algorithm is applied for the classifier and the feature importance measure. The system selects the significant clinical tests discriminating the diseases by examining the classification error during backward elimination of the features. The superior performance of random forest algorithm in clinical classification was assessed against artificial neural network and decision tree algorithm by using breast cancer, diabetes and heart disease data in UCI Machine Learning Repository. The test with the same data sets shows that the proposed system can successfully select the significant clinical test set for each disease.
