  • A Clinical Pathway(CP) is standard process to way of treat diseases or injuries which is adapted to each hospital based on National Clinical Practice Guideline(CPG). Since CP is standard guideline for doctors and nurses working in a hospital, making and modifying CP is one of the most important administrational work for hospital and also rare work because once it is fixed, it's not changed whether there are new kind of disease discovered or new treatment is developed. However, in present, patient's waiting time during hospital residence process, is discussed as service competitive for patients. In this research, we utilize process mining tool to verify patients treatment process follows CP with EMR(Electronic Medical Record) in a sample hospital, and suggest modifcation point of CP through verification.

  • Objective: The aim of this research was to investigate the current status and limitations of the clinical use of a pulse tonometry device (PTD). Methods: We searched online medical databases, including Oriental Medicine Advanced Searching Integrated System (OASIS), Research Information Sharing Service (RISS), DataBase Periodical Information Academic (DBpia) and PubMed, for clinical studies of metabolic diseases that used PTD. We selected articles on the clinical application of the PTD but excluded duplicate articles, clinical studies without the PTD, and non-clinical studies. In the first screening, 551 articles were selected. Ultimately, we found 10 articles and classified the articles according to the following diseases: hyperlipidemia, diabetes, overweight and obesity, hypertension, and metabolic disease. Results: Of the 10 selected articles, 4 were focused on hypertension. Two articles were focused on overweight or obesity and two articles were focused on the metabolic disease. Conclusions: This study was the first attempt to conduct a systematic review on clinical studies of metabolic disease using the PTD as a primary outcome. We suggest that the standard of pulse wave parameters and operating procedures for the PTD should be further developed. The results of this study are expected to be used as basic information for the planning and progression of clinical studies of metabolic syndrome using PTD.

Methods: This study was designed as a methodological study. A conceptual framework was established based on Brady and Cronin's hierarchical model, and preliminary items were prepared through translation-back-translation, a review of existing instruments, and in-depth interviews with clinical trial participants and clinical research coordinators. The final items were completed through content validity testing by experts and a review of items by clinical trial participants for the prepared preliminary items. Results: Through this study, a set of 58 items across four domains (quality of interaction with researchers, the physical environment, performance procedures, and performance results) and 9 components (information·education·communication, trust, respect for participant preferences, securing facilities and space, accessibility, comfortability, informed consent, coordination of care, subjective understanding of clinical trials) on the service quality of clinical trials were completed. The scale content validity index of all preliminary items was 0.96, meeting the recommended standards. The individual-item content validity index also meets the recommended criteria for most items, excluding four items. Conclusion: This study holds significance in developing items to measure the quality of clinical trial execution from the perspective of participants. By verifying the reliability and validity of these items through subsequent research, it is expected that they can be utilized as a valuable instrument to devise strategies for improving the quality of clinical trials.
