The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of stress response on safety behavior and to explore moderating effect of safety climate between stress response and safety behavior. 224 workers were asked to respond to the questionnaires that measured various demographic variables, stress response, safety climates and safety behaviors. A hierarchical regression was conducted to identify variables that had significant relationships with safety behavior and to examine moderating effect of safety climate between stress response and safety behavior. Results indicated that the depression response significantly predicted safety behavior. It was found that the safety climate was also a significant predictor for safety behavior. In addition, safety climate had a moderating effect on the relation between depression and anger responses and safety behavior.
Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to analyze the effect of job stress on work impairment. Method: 354 workers' data from Seoul and the Gyeonggi area were collected between February 1 and March 30 2006 by structured questionnaire. The questionnaire was meant to determine demographic data, job stress, and work impairment questionnaire. Data analyzed by SPSS 12.0 and AMOS 5.0 program. Results: Job stress was ranked job demand, insufficient job control, organizational system, lack of reward, job insecurity, interpersonal conflict, and occupational climate. The work impairment of completing work was increased when the stress of insufficient job control, lack of reward, job insecurity, and occupational climate were increasing. The work impairment of avoiding distraction was increased when the stress of job demand, insufficient job control, organizational system, lack of reward, job insecurity, and occupational climate were increasing. The stress of job demand, lack of reward, job insecurity, and occupational climate had an effect on avoiding distraction. The stress of lack of reward and occupational climate had an effect on completing work. Conclusion: If employers manage job stress of job demand, lack of reward, job insecurity, and occupational climate, their business will benefit.

Purpose : The purposes of this study is twofold: (a) to investigate the effect of job stress and organizational climate on the organizational effectiveness of hospital nurses, and (2) to examine the moderating effect of organizational climate on job stress. Method : Three organizational effectiveness variables(e .g., job satisfaction, organizational committment and group productivity) as outcomes variables were examined. The sample consisted of 602 nurses from 5 general hospitals affiliated university. Data were collected with self-administrated questionnaires and analyzed using hierarchical regression. Results : It was found that: (a) seven job stress variables(e. g., workload, role conflict, schedule, lack of knowledge, conflict with superior, conflict with other personnel and conflict with patients) have negative effect on job satisfaction and organizational committment; (b) organizational climate have positive main effects on job satisfaction and organizational committment; (c) the negative effects of job stress variables on job satisfaction and organizational committment are not moderated by organizational climate. Conclusion : Organizational climate mediates the effects of job stress on group productivity, but the size of the mediating effects was small. Various outcome variables need to be discussed further research.

Background: Safety climate and occupational stress are related with occupational accident. The present study tried to identify the differences in safety climate and occupational stress according to occupational accidents experience and employment type (e.g., direct workers and subcontract workers). Methods: In this study, we conducted a survey using safety climate scale and Korean Occupational Stress Scale and classified the participants into four groups: direct workers working for accident-free departments, direct workers working for accident departments, subcontract workers working for accident-free departments, and subcontract workers working for accident departments for 2 years within the same workplace in the shipbuilding industry. Results: The direct workers and subcontract workers showed diverse results in subscales of safety climate and occupational stress. This result is supported by existing studies; however, further study is necessary for more supporting evidence and elaborative methodological approach. Conclusion: The necessity of management for safety climate and psychosocial factor such as occupational stress for both direct workers and subcontract workers as a whole is suggested by this study.

This paper investigates the effect of stress on knowledge creation. The goal stress of resource inadequacy and job stress had negative influences on knowledge creation. However, the cohesion and mastery climate of team had positive influence on knowledge creation. Therefore this paper verifies the moderate role of the cohesion and mastery climate of team on the relationship between stress and knowledge creation. The model developed was tested using data collected from knowledge based industry with 375 members in 69 teams in 12 different firms. A Hierarchical Linear Model (HLM) was used to test the hypotheses generated from the model. Results show that job stress had a negative influence on knowledge creation as we expected but the goal stress didn't. The mastery climate of team affected knowledge creation positively and moderated the relationship between the goal stress and knowledge creation. Furthermore, the team cohesion had a positive influence on knowledge creation. The study provided some implications that practitioners should consider the stress when they design jobs for team members and suggest them the way to manage their job stress when they work.
In this study, a dynamic modeling scheme is presented to describe the probabilistic structure of soil water and plant water stress index under stochastic precipitation conditions. The proposed model has the form of the Fokker-Planck equation, and its applicability as a model for the probabilistic evolution of the soil water and plant water stress index is investigated under a climate change scenario. The simulation results of soil water confirm that the proposed soil water model can properly reproduce the observations and show that the soil water behaves with consistent cycle based on the precipitation pattern. The simulation results of plant water stress index show two different PDF patterns according to the precipitation. The simple impact assessment of climate change to soil water and plant water stress is discussed with Korean Meteorological Administration regional climate model.
This current research investigated whether job stress mediates the relationship between physical environment and safety behavior of members in organization. Furthermore, we hypothesized that safety climate functions as moderator between physical environment-job stress link. In order to examine the hypotheses, 870 employees in various fields of companies were sampled. Using structural equation modeling(SEM), we conducted moderated mediation model analysis which cab elaborately test the significance of our hypotheses. The results showed that job stress mediated the link between physical environment and safety behavior of members. Moreover, the relationship between physical environment and job stress was moderated by safety climate. The implications and limitations of our study and suggestions for future research were discussed.

Korean fir (Abies koreana) is an evergreen coniferous tree species that is unique to South Korea. A. koreana is found in a limited sub-alpine habitat and is considered particularly vulnerable to climate change. Identification of populations vulnerable to climate change is an important component of conservation programs. In this study, a heat stress-induced transcriptome RNA-seq dataset was used to identify a subset of six genes for assessment as candidate marker genes for ecologically vulnerable populations. Samples of A. koreana were isolated from ecologically stable and vulnerable regions of the Halla and Jiri mountains, and the expression levels of the six candidate markers were assessed using quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction. All six of the candidate genes exhibited higher expression levels in samples from vulnerable regions compared with stable regions. These results confirm that the six high temperature-induced genes can be used as diagnostic markers for the identification of populations of A. koreana that are experiencing stress due to the effects of climate change.

This study tested the relations of schools organizational climate and teachers' job stresses, perceived by 913 teachers from 45 elementary, junior- and senior-high schools. Pearson's correlation analysis for the relations between the sub-factors of both organizational climate and job stresses and cannonical correlation analysis for the relative contribution of individual variable of organizational climate upon job stress were applied for the test. The results of Pearson's correlation analysis showed that while 'intimacy', 'esprit', 'considerations', and 'production emphasis' climate had negative correlations with job stress sub-factors, 'disengagement' and 'aloofness' climate had positive correlation. 'Student guidance', a sub-factor of job stresses, did not have statistically significant correlation with any sub-factors of organizational climate. Findings from cannonical correlation analysis showed 2 significant cannonical functions to explain the relations between the sets of variables. 'Disengagement' from organizational climate positively contributed with 'authority forfeiture' and 'dissention and conflict' of the job stresses variables.

In this study a dynamic modeling scheme is presented to derive the probabilistic structure of soil water and plant water stress when subject to stochastic precipitation conditions. The newly developed model has the form of the Fokker-Planck equation, and its applicability as a model for the probabilistic evolution of the soil water and plant water stress is investigated under climate change scenarios. This model is based on the cumulant expansion theory, and has the advantage of providing the probabilistic solution in the form of probability distribution function (PDF), from which one can obtain the ensemble average behavior of the dynamics. The simulation result of soil water confirms that the proposed soil water model can properly reproduce the results obtained from observations, and it also proves that the soil water behaves with consistent cycle based on the precipitation pattern. The plant water stress simulation, also, shows two different PDF patterns according to the precipitation. Moreover, with all the simulation results with climate change scenarios, it can be concluded that the future soil water and plant water stress dynamics will differently behave with different climate change scenarios.
