중소병원 간호사의 의료관련 감염관리를 위한 표준주의 지식, 인지도, 안전환경과 수행도 (Knowledge, Awareness, Safety-climate and Performance of Standard Precautions for Healthcare Associated Infection Control among Nurses in Small and Medium Hospitals)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 중소병원에 근무하는 간호사의 표준주의에 대한 지식, 인지도, 안전환경 및 수행도를 조사하고 의료관련 감염관리 표준주의에 대한 수행도에 미치는 영향요인을 확인하여 중소병원의 표준주의 수행도를 증진시킬 수 있는 방안을 모색하기 위함이다. 본 연구의 대상자는 경기도와 충남에 소재하는 300병상 미만의 6개 중소종합병원에 1년 이상 근무한 간호사 총 151명을 대상으로 하였다. 자료수집은 2018년 1월 15일부터 2월 15일까지 연구의 목적을 이해하고 참여에 서면 동의한 간호사에 한해 자가 보고식 설문지를 사용하여 자료를 수집하였다. 연구결과 안전환경과 표준주의 수행도는 근무부서에 따라 유의한 차이를 보였으며 표준주의 수행도는 표준주의 지식(r=.19, p=.025), 표준주의 인지도(r=.27, p=.001), 표준주의 안전환경(r=.48, p=.000)과 유의한 양의 상관관계를 보였다. 표준주의 수행도에 영향을 미치는 주요 요인은 안전환경과 표준주의 인지도로 나타났으며 안전환경의 설명력은 21.6%였고 이 두 변수의 수행도에 대한 설명력은 23.3%였다. 이상의 연구결과로 볼 때 중소병원에서 간호사의 의료관련 감염관리를 위한 표준주의 수행도를 증진시키기 위해서는 안전환경의 개선 외에도 지속적인 교육프로그램과 행정적지지가 제공되어야 할 것이다.

제주지역에서 오크라 무가온 재배에 따른 품종별 특성 (The Characteristic of Different Cultivar of Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus) under the Plastic House Condition in Jeju Island)

  • 본 실험은 무가온 하우스에서 오크라를 생산하기 위한 재배법을 개발하기 위해 11개의 품종에 대한 특성조사를 하였다, 또한 무가온 재배 시 적정 재식 밀도를 구명하기 위해 "Greensode" 품종의 발아조건과 재식간격을 구명하였다. 먼저 11개 품종의 특성을 조사한 결과 'No. 1', 'No. 4', 'No. 5'는 'No. 2', 'No. 3'에 비해 발아력이 다소 우수하였다. 생육은 No. 4의 초장이 109.2cm로 타 집단보다 길었다. 착과부위를 나타내는 마디수는 대부분 4.2~6.5개의 분포를 보였는데 'Greenrocket' 품종의 마디수가 가장 많았다. 수량은 'Greensode', 'No. 2', 'No. 5'가 많았다. 또한 오크라 'Greensode' 육묘 재배 시 발아율 향상을 위하여 종자 침지 시간을 달리하여 시험한 결과, 18시간 종자 침지 처리구가 9시간 침지와 무침지 처리구에 비하여 발아속도가 우수하였다. 18시간 종자 침지 처리구의 100% 발아 시점이 파종 후 8일 째로 9시간 침지와 무처리구 보다 7일 가량 빨리 발아되었다. 오크라 'Greensode' 무가온 재배를 위한 적정 재식밀도를 구명하기 위해 재식간격, 구딩주수 처리를 달리하여 직파 재배하였다. 처리구 간 초장의 차이는 발생하지 않았으나 재식간격이 좁아질수록 경경이 작아지는 경향이 나타났다. $45{\times}75cm$ 간격으로 파종하되 3~4주를 모아 심을 처리에서 수량이 가장 많아 무가온 재배에 적합했다.

완효성 비료를 시용한 논에서의 물관리에 따른 온실가스 배출량 평가 (Effect of Water Management on Greenhouse Gas Emissions from Rice Paddies Using a Slow-release Fertilizer)

  • Methane (CH4) and nitrous oxide (N2O) are significant contributors to greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from rice fields. Mid-summer drainage is a commonly practiced water management technique that reduces CH4 emissions from rice fields. Slow-release fertilizers gradually release nutrients over an extended period and have been shown to reduce N2O emissions. However, the combined effect of slow-release fertilizer and water management on GHG emissions remains unclear. This study compared GHG emissions from a rice paddy subjected to mid-summer drainage for 10 days (control) with that of a rice paddy subjected to prolonged mid-summer drainage for 20 days combined with slow-release fertilizer (W+S). Gas sampling was conducted weekly using a closed chamber method. During the rice cultivation period, cumulative CH4 and N2O emissions were reduced by 12.3% and 16.2%, respectively, in the W+S treatment compared to the control. Moreover, the W+S treatment exhibited a 1.9% increase in grain yield compared to the control. Under experimental conditions, slow-release fertilizers, in combination with prolonged mid-summer drainage, proved to be the optimal approach for achieving high crop yield while reducing GHG emissions. This represents an effective strategy to mitigate GHG emissions from rice paddy fields.

사회후생함수를 중심으로 한 기후경제통합-지역평가모형 비교분석 (Comparative Analysis of Regional Integrated Assessment Models of Climate and the Economy)

  • 기후경제통합평가모형(Integrated assessment model of climate and the economy)은 기후변화에 관한 경제 분석과 정책제안을 위한 필수적인 도구가 되어왔다. 최근에는 기후변화에 대응하기 위한 정책적 노력들이 대부분 국가 또는 지역 수준에서 일어난다는 인식 하에 국가 또는 지역에서의 기후변화 영향과 정책수단의 효과를 평가할 수 있는 기후경제통합-지역평가모형(Regional integrated assessment model of climate and the economy)의 중요성이 더욱 커지고 있다. 이 논문에서는 국내에서 기후경제통합-지역평가모형을 개발하기 위한 첫 번째 단계로서 사회후생함수를 중심으로 기후경제통합-지역평가모형을 이론적으로 유형화했으며, RICE(Regional integrated climate-economy model) 모형을 통해 기후변화 대응전략에 따른 국가별 기후변화정책의 변화를 수치적으로 살펴보았다. 변화하는 국제 상황, 새롭게 드러나는 과학적 증거, 국내 여건 등을 모두 반영한 기후변화정책을 수립하기 위해서는 이를 분석할 수 있는 효과적인 도구를 갖추고 있어야 한다. 이 논문에서 살펴본 기후경제통합-지역평가모형은 이를 위한 유용한 도구가 될 수 있다.

Uncertainty decomposition in climate-change impact assessments: a Bayesian perspective

  • A climate-impact projection usually consists of several stages, and the uncertainty of the projection is known to be quite large. It is necessary to assess how much each stage contributed to the uncertainty. We call an uncertainty quantification method in which relative contribution of each stage can be evaluated as uncertainty decomposition. We propose a new Bayesian model for uncertainty decomposition in climate change impact assessments. The proposed Bayesian model can incorporate uncertainty of natural variability and utilize data in control period. We provide a simple and efficient Gibbs sampling algorithm using the auxiliary variable technique. We compare the proposed method with other existing uncertainty decomposition methods by analyzing streamflow data for Yongdam Dam basin located at Geum River in South Korea.

소형선박용 착.탈식 ADCP 고정장치 개발 (Development of a Fixing Apparatus Available to Mount-and-detach ADCP on a Small Vessel)

  • A portable apparatus mounting Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers (ADCP) to any small boat was developed to effectively measure currents in shallow and narrow coastal seas like the west coasts of Korea. Characteristics of the apparatus is that an underwater fish-shaped body protecting an ADCP is designed to reduce the drag during the cruise, which can be freely mounted and detached from a boat with a clamp. Several cruise outputs prove themselves that the apparatus is properly designed for the intended purpose, to minimize air bubbles and to control the submerged depth of the sensor.

가축분뇨 퇴.액비가 시용된 옥수수 밭토양 특성 변화 (Changes of Soil Properties in Corn (Zea mays L.) Fields Treated with Compost and Liquid Fertilizer)

  • A wide diversity of liquid fertilizers and composts produced from the livestock manure in Korea is commonly applied to agricultural lands as an alternative of chemical fertilizers. However, their effects on the crop production and environmental impacts are still vague. The current study was conducted to understand the effects of the pig manure-based liquid fertilizer on the growth of Zea mays L. and soil properties. Four different liquid fertilizers were treated to each cultivated upland plot located in Gyeong-gi province, Korea while no fertilizer (control A) and a chemical fertilizer (control B) were treated to separate plots for comparison. The liquid fertilizer treatment did not make a significant difference in the fresh weight of Zea mays L. compared to the controls. This is probably due to the nutrient residues carried over from the last year fertilization. Electric conductivity (EC) and organic matter contents in soils were increased right after the liquid fertilizer treatments compared to the controls. However, soil pH was maintained as the same as the level of control A. A long-term effect of the continuous treatment of the manure based liquid fertilizer will be carried out in the successive study.

계절예측 정보 기반 APEX-Paddy 모형 적용성 평가 (Evaluation of Applicability of APEX-Paddy Model based on Seasonal Forecast)

  • Unit load factor, which is used for the quantification of non-point pollution in watersheds, has the limitation that it does not reflect spatial characteristics of soil, topography and temporal change due to the interannual or seasonal variability of precipitation. Therefore, we developed the method to estimate a watershed-scale non-point pollutant load using seasonal forecast data that forecast changes of precipitation up to 6 months from present time for watershed-scale water quality management. To establish a preemptive countermeasure against non-point pollution sources, it is possible to consider the unstructured management plan which is possible over several months timescale. Notably, it is possible to apply various management methods such as control of sowing and irrigation timing, control of irrigation through water management, and control of fertilizer through fertilization management. In this study, APEX-Paddy model, which can consider the farming method in field scale, was applied to evaluate the applicability of seasonal forecast data. It was confirmed that the rainfall amount during the growing season is an essential factor in the non-point pollution pollutant load. The APEX-Paddy model for quantifying non-point pollution according to various farming methods in paddy fields simulated similarly the annual variation tendency of TN and TP pollutant loads in rice paddies but showed a tendency to underestimate load quantitatively.

  • Despite the practical limitations of calculating the amount of inflow and supply related to the operation of agricultural reservoirs, the role of agricultural reservoirs is gradually being emphasized. In particular, as interest in disaster safety has increased, the demand for preliminary measures to prepare for disasters has been rising, for instance, pre-discharging agricultural reservoirs for flood control. The aim of this study is to analyze the plans for the flood season reservoir operation considering pre-discharge period and water level limit. Accordingly, we optimized the simulation of daily storage using the ratio correction factor (RCFs) and analyzed the amount of inflow and supply using K-HAS. In addition we developed the drought determination coefficient (k) as a indicator of water availability and applied it for supplementing the risk level criteria in the Drought Crisis Response Manual. The results showed that it would be difficult to set the water level limit during the flood period in the situation of little water supply for flood control in agricultural reservoirs. Therefore, it is necessary to operate the reservoir management regulations after measures such as securing additional storage water are established in the future.

Past and Future Epidemiological Perspectives and Integrated Management of Rice Bakanae in Korea

  • In the past, rice bakanae was considered an endemic disease that did not cause significant losses in Korea; however, the disease has recently become a serious threat due to climate change, changes in farming practices, and the emergence of fungicide-resistant strains. Since the bakanae outbreak in 2006, its incidence has gradually decreased due to the application of effective control measures such as hot water immersion methods and seed disinfectants. However, in 2013, a marked increase in bakanae incidence was observed, causing problems for rice farmers. Therefore, in this review, we present the potential risks from climate change based on an epidemiological understanding of the pathogen, host plant, and environment, which are the key elements influencing the incidence of bakanae. In addition, disease management options to reduce the disease pressure of bakanae below the economic threshold level are investigated, with a specific focus on resistant varieties, as well as chemical, biological, cultural, and physical control methods. Lastly, as more effective countermeasures to bakanae, we propose an integrated disease management option that combines different control methods, including advanced imaging technologies such as remote sensing. In this review, we revisit and examine bakanae, a traditional seed-borne fungal disease that has not gained considerable attention in the agricultural history of Korea. Based on the understanding of the present significance and anticipated risks of the disease, the findings of this study are expected to provide useful information for the establishment of an effective response strategy to bakanae in the era of climate change.
