  • The area of business applications in the internet are extended enormously in result of fast development of computing and communication technologies, increase of internet use, and use of intranet/extranet in enterprise information system. Widely spread the use of the internet, there are various applications for Business to Business (B to B) or Business to Customer(B to C) model that are based on the intranet or extranet. This paper designed and implemented the Web-based Electronic Bidding System for Business to Business (B to B) model. The technical issues of electronic bidding system in the internet are involved in the connection between web client and server, electronic data interchange for the contract document, and security solution during the bidding and contracting processes. The web-based electronic bidding system in this paper is implemented using Java applet and servlet as a connection interface for web client and server, XML/EDI-based documents for a bid and a contract, and bidding server and notary server for enhancing the security using PKI(Public Key Infrastructure)-based public key cryptography, digital signature and Certification Authority(CA).

  • Currently, lots of research s going on in the field of the load distribution within HTTP. RR-DNS and SWEB are the most representative load distribution research. But, there are still many problems: unbalancing of load, load increase of web server and cost increase. Also, clients that require lots of data like multimedia happens to increase network load. To solve these, research about client/agent/server architecture is going on. But, the clients must know the agent's address and there are complexity and migration problems for design of such as protocol. This paper proposes TBSMS that is capable of choosing the optimal server considering the service capacity of the server as well as the network load. This paper demonstrates that TBSMS uses the web to solve the problem that client must know the agent's address and uses SNMP to solve the complexity and migration problem.

  • Network and Internet technology opens up another domain for building future CAD/CAM environment. The environment will be global, network-centric, and spatially distributed. In this paper, we present an approach for network-centric feature-based modeling in a distributed design environment. The presented approach combines the current feature-based modeling technique with distributed computing and communication technology for supporting product modeling and collaborative design activities over the network. The approach is implemented in a client/server architecture, in which Web-enabled feature modeling clients, neutral feature model server, and other applications communicate with one another via a standard communication protocol. The paper discusses how the neutral feature model supports multiple views and maintains naming consistency between geometric entities of the server and clients. Moreover, it explains how to minimize the network delay between the server and client according to incremental feature modeling operations.

  • Virtual Manufacturing System(VMS) is a computer model that represents the precise and whole structure of manufacturing systems and simulates their physical and logical behavior in operation. In this paper, a real time simulation for the virtual factory is proposed to integrate a process planning with scheduling under distributed environments. In order to communicate the information under distributed environments, we use a server/client concept using socket program and internet.

  • The efficiency of algorithms managing data caches has a major impact on the performance of systems that utilize client-side data caching. In these systems, two versions of data can be maintained without an additional space overhead of the server by exploiting the replication of data in the server's buffer and clients' caches. In this paper, we present a new cache consistency algorithm employing versions: Two Versions-Callback Locking (2V-CBL). Our experimental results indicate that 2V-CBL provides good performance, particularly outperforms a leading cache consistency algorithm, Asynchronous Avoidance-based Gache Consistency, when some clients run only read-only transactions.

  • Illegal software use have been abroad through online (internet) and offline (CD, DVD, USB, etc.). It infringes intellectual property rights and weakens the will to software development. Also, it generates the software errors and virus intrusion in PC. It hinders national software industry and induces the personal and national trade friction. Many group (company, office, organization, institution, etc.) have been realized the prohibition of illegal software use. But, it is too hard to monitor and control illegal software use. In this paper, we propose a method of software management in a group. A software module of client agency is installed in all PC of the group. A main server of the software management controls the all of the PC through the communication. The server blocks the install of illegal software, permits the install / use of honest goods software, monitors the license (term, amount) in all the PC. The system prevents errors of illegal software use, all cuts the virus intrude through the illegal software, improves the performance of PC relatively.

  • Telematics is an emerging industrial field made up of the convergence of technologies. The key technologies for Telematics are server-side technology, terminal-side technology, communication-related technology, and positioning technology. Standardization in Telematics is now getting more notice these days. Domestic situation is explained for several related facilities such as ETRI, TTA, and Telematics Standardization Forum. In this paper, we will focus especially on the standard reference model that is the most fundamental framework of Telematics technology standardization. In the reference model, the Telematics system is composed of Telematics client part, communication part, and Telematics server part. The Telematics client part consists of terminal, positioning device, and car electronic devices. Communication part can be composed of various telecommunication channels such as CDMA, WLAN, DMB, WiBro, etc. which can guarantee the seamless two-way communication. Telematics server part is composed of TSP(Telematics Service Provider) server and CP(Contents Provider) servers gathering and managing the various Telematics services. This Telematics reference model is expected to be utilized as the base architecture in developing the technology and standards from now on.

  • Among the driving methods of CALS, Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), the pivot of procurement and logistics, is becoming the standard of data interchange. In this article, we examine the standard, growth, and status of EDI, and present a scheme to make it available via Internet that grow to be a standardized network, in comparison with a method to use a Value Added Network(VAN). So we studied an implementation of EDI system to exchange and process the business intra-works in order to integrate it into Intranet environment. As well, we present a client/server model running under Intranet environment, and a system with a format server to share the load of server and client. To do this, we list the functions and requirements of EDI system, connect a database to the Intranet, and develop applications using $Java^{TM}$.

  • Nowadays, computer network has been rapidly developed. And we have made efforts to use it in wide field. So we can exchange data without spacial restriction using internet. If we develop monitoring system using internet, we have the effect of reducing time and space. Therefore, in this paper, we developed TCP/IP network and client/server system. And We applied them to resistance spot welding quality monitoring system.

  • In this paper we propose parallel GA to optimize mutation rate and crossover rate using server-client model. The performance of GA depend on the good choice of crossover and mutation rates. Although many researcher has been study about the good choice, it is still unsolved problem. proposed GA optimize crossover and mutation rates trough evolving subpopulation. In virtue of the server-client model, these parameters can be evolved rapidly with relatively low-grade
