This study is unlike common Input-Output Analysis in the point that both RAS and methods are applied to the dynamic Input-Output Model simultaneously. We have analyzed the propagation effects on the regional economy from the investment generated by u-City construction in Wha-sung and Dong-tan City. The main results of the study are as follows. The total induced effect on production according to u-City construction in Wha-sung and Dong-tan City is estimated about 2.9 times. On the other hand, u-City industry is appreciated as a industry which a forward linkage effect is very high while a backward linkage effect is not that high.

It was necessary for us to establish a U-City Integrated platform to handle information and to operate the processes in order to solve various social problems in the modern cities and environment. As time has passed, we have confronted to difficulty in handling massive data with limited storage and computing environment and in not satisfying all the new requirements and on time information from the publics. The bigger the cost of the operation of the platform got, the more doubts to keep and invest more to upgrade it arose. Here, we investigated the limitations of the U-city platforms and analyzed the additional requirements and each function of the platform. In order to meet the requirement, we applied new technologies to deal with massive data and suggested the infrastructure of computing environment. We will be expecting the cost decreasing effects and the benefit increasing effects from the enhancement of U-City platform.

This paper analyzed articles of u-City Construction Law, which has been enacted on 29th of September last year, and evaluated their appropriateness and other laws associated with u-city services for better provision of u-cities and u-city services. The enacted law established the concept of u-city in Korea and provided relating industries with construction procedures, technology developments, and standards. These efforts have substantial implications as the first stepping stone, but also raised several problems. Hence, this paper suggested that the u-City Construction Law should be amended as follows. First, The minimum size of u-cities, that is required by the law, should be decreased. Second, various kinds of incentives should be provided to the u-city project companies. Third, new organizations such as u-City commission and National or Regional Control and Management Center will be necessary. Fourth, technology standards and inter-operability among cities should be provided in the areas of the control and management centers. And Finally, more measures of and focuses on project financing issues should be made.

Ubiquitous city is convergence of metro city construction and intellectual technology. The physical space of metrocity will be progressively summarized, integrated and converged in the future. Information technology developed into ubiquitous IT past through computerization and telecommunication. The purpose of this paper is to research ubiquitous city construction according to recently promulgated law.

The ubiquitous city construction act worked as an institutional basis for the U-City projects which were actively driven in the new urban areas until 2010. However, the country's urban policies which were recently changed focusing on revitalization of the existing towns and urban regeneration led to the increased demand for revision of the u-City law with a strong character of procedural law mainly for the new urban areas. Therefore, this study, taking into account the changes of the country's urban policies and the conditions related to u-City, established the direction of revision on the u-City law as the diversification of the u-City projects, reinforcement of u-City management operation and the supports for the u-City projects, and presented the consequent action plans. This study aims to review the problems with the current u-City law and the improvement plan from the practical point of view for reflecting the country's urban policy flow and demand. It is expected that the result of this study will be able to be utilized as a basic material for supporting the continuous development and expansion of u-City by law and system.

The purpose of this report is to show the process of the development of the database of physical and social environments of Iwata City as the basic information for estimation of earthquake disasters and to show the contents of a computer application for handling the database. As the development of GIS in Iwata City, several facts were revealed as the very useful information for the prediction of disasters.

The purpose of this study is to suggest development directions and elicit future research themes of U-City and future city by identifying the research trends of U-City theses. For this, meta-keywords were elicited based on the theses of U-City and future city published from mid 1990s to 2010. Centered on the meta-keywords, temporal keyword analysis was performed to compare the research trends of U-City and future city theses in Korea and oversea. The results show that most of U-City and future theses in Korea and oversea mainly dealt with technology. U-City theses in Korea have a tendency to research technology, methodology, service, planning and management in order from the early beginning. However, the U-City and future theses in oversea have a tendency to continuously study U-City applications to city through the model based on the technology and methodology. Therefore, the U-City research in Korea should focus on aspects of urban regeneration, urban scale, and so on. That is to say, the research in near future is required to apply the U-City to various urban themes.

성공적인 u-City 서비스를 제공하는데 있어 가장 중요한 역할을 수행하는 기능으로 u-City 통합운영센터가 지목되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 u-City 통합운영센터의 효율적인 운영 모델을 제안하였으며 이를 위해서 먼저 u-City 기술 참조모델을 기반으로 하는 표준화된 u-City 서비스 도입 및 운영 방안을 제시하였다. 또한 기존에 제공되고 있는 각종 도시 정보서비스를 점진적으로 u-City 서비스에서 수용하는 전략으로서 점진적 서비스 융합 방안을 제시하였다.

u-City 사업 시행주체와 지자체의 경영난에 따른 u-City 인프라 구축 및 운영난이 함께 맞물려 새로운 돌파구가 필요한 시점이다. 즉 u-보건의료, u-방범, u-교통, u-환경 등의 복지에 대한 수요 충족과 지역의 u-City산업발전을 통한 지역생산성 제고 등 새로운 딜레마를 어떻게 극복해 나갈 것인가 하는 모색이 필요하다. 본 연구는 성남시를 사례로 이러한 딜레마 극복을 위한 대안을 제시하고자 한다.

The purpose of this study is to introduce the web database for healthy city Wonju that contains healthy city indicators and materials. It has provided diverse information to public officers who are working on healthy city projects and citizens for monitoring and evaluating the projects, effectively. The web database was made on 2006 and was updated on 2009. The new Web database system was designed for supporting that the staffs of healthy city can manage all data update by themselves. The new Web database encompasses more recent information about health city projects. After identifying users' needs and reasons for modifying the fields of data, we added new indicators to the Web database. Some redundant indicators were deleted based on users' requests. The Web database quality evaluations were performed by using 13 quality evaluations constructs. Through all 13 constructs, less than 20% of study subjects felt that it did not satisfy their needs or expectations. Well developed and verified contents of the Web database for healthy city are very essential and important. The database makes healthy city projects alive by managing and sharing healthy city related data and indicators effectively.
