The purpose of this paper is to understand the profiles of users and their motivations in sharing research articles on Twitter. The goal is to contribute to the understanding of Twitter as a new altmetric measure for assessing impact of research articles. In this paper, we extended the previous study of tweet motivations by finding out the profiles of twitter users. In particular, we examined six characteristics of users: gender, geographic distribution, academic, non-academic, individual, and organization. Out of several, we would like to highlight here three key findings. First, a great majority of users (86%) were from North America and Europe indicating the possibility that, if in general, tweets for research articles are mainly in English, Twitter as an alternative metric has a Western bias. Second, several previous altmetrics studies suggested that tweets, and altmetrics in general, do not indicate scholarly impact due to their low correlation with citation counts. This study provides further details in this aspect by revealing that most tweets (77%) were by individual users, 67% of whom were nonacademic. Therefore, tweets mostly reflect impact of research articles on the general public, rather than on academia. Finally, analysis from profiles and motivations showed that the majority of tweets (from 42% to 57%) in all user types highlighted the summary or findings of the article indicating that tweets are a new way of communicating research findings.
Every researcher wants their research to gain more recognition, and this desire is achieved by publishing their article in a journal with higher impact. It is very important to get researchers interested in the Journal of Korean Neurosurgical Society (JKNS). Therefore, the first goal was to promote the publication of papers in our journal. To do this, a table of contents was sent out, and the citation ranking was announced every 2 months. Several efforts have been made to publish good papers. Foreign speakers, who were invited to a conference hosted by the Korean Neurosurgical Society were contacted and politely requested to write a paper addressing their recent research. Domestic and international researchers highly renowned in their fields were also contacted to submit their novel works to our journal. The journal impact factor of our journal has continued to rise for the last 3 years and reached 1.376 in 2019. It can be said that the JKNS is now competitive with other international neurosurgery journals. These achievements were not due to the efforts of the editorial boards alone. This was because our society members have submitted very good papers, and because many of our members have cited the papers published in our journal. We believe that this will continue in the future. The next step of evolution of the JKNS has begun, and this is the beginning of another great development.

Altmetircs is the new method to measure social impact of research result which couldn't be found by traditional way, through measuring how much research result is reacting to social media. As academic communication has been diverse and OA repository which can preserve diverse type of article has been activated, New paradigm that measure impact of articles through multifaceted and complex way has been started. This study considers background, status of application, pros and cons about altmetircs. And by using Impactstory which is open source based tool, analyses the research output about digital library of Korea, china and japan which is published in international journal. Besides, analyses correlation between Altmetricss and citation rates. As results, "saved" shows higher than "cited" in library research analysis, it means that even though articles are not cited by followed study, there are a lot of articles that has saved in reference management tool. And positive correlation(r = 0.718) exists between "saved" and "cited", it can be inferred that Altmetricss complement the bibliometrics based evaluation system. Meanwhile, Korean researches are saved more in reference management tool than other countries.

Electronic publications, including e-journals, show a rapid expansion due to its several advantages for the academic and research community. The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of e-journals on scholarly communication. The impact factors and immediacy indices were provided via JCR social science edition have been used to conduct a series of analysis on three subject fields, economics, law and psychology. The data from the last eight years show that the impact factors of e-journals have not changed, but immediacy indices have intensely increased in recent two years. Significant increase of immediacy indices is probably due to prevalence of e-journals or electronic sources of articles. The result reveals that e-journals play an important role in speeding up the scholarly communication. It is expected that the findings of this study can contribute to more efficient management of the digital libraries.
Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women worldwide. The primary aim of this work was to provide an in-depth evaluation of research publications in the field of diets and breast cancer. The impact of economic outcome on national academic productivity was also investigated. Data were retrieved using Pubmed for English-language publications. The search included all research for which articles included words relating to "diets and breast cancer". Population and national income data were obtained from publicly available databases. Impact factors for journals were obtained from Journal Citation Reports$^{(R)}$ (Thomson Scientific). There were 2,396 publications from 60 countries in 384 journals with an impact factor. Among them, 1,652 (68.94%) publications were Original articles. The United States had the highest quantity (51% of total) and highest of mean impact factor (8.852) for publication. Sweden had the highest productivity of publication when adjusted for number of population (6 publications per million population). Publications from the Asian nation increased from 5.3% in 2006 to 14.6% in 2012. The Original article type was also associated with geography (p<0.001; OR=2.183; 95%CI=1.526-3.123), Asian countries produced more proportion of Original articles (82%) than those of rest of the world (67.6%). Diets and breast cancer-associated research output continues to increase annually worldwide including publications from Asian countries. Although the United States produced the most publications, European nations per capita were higher in publication output.
Although patents have mainly been considered as the results of the invention process, of late their value as strategic assets have increasingly been emphasized. Consequently, the competition for patents among firms has intensified, and the number of patent disputes have been steadily increasing. Patent disputes, which cause enormous expense and resource utilization, increase uncertainty and have been considered as a threat or problem for the firms involved. Patent disputes are expected to have a significant impact on the decision making about subsequent innovation activities. This study attempts to analyze the effect of patent disputes on the subsequent innovative activities of the firms that are sued. After experiencing litigation as defendants, we examine their subsequent patenting strategies. According to the results of the study, firms who are experiencing patent litigation are more likely to achieve high-quality patents and cite recent technology when they apply for patents. Meanwhile, patent litigation experience has been shown to negatively affect the amount of subsequent patents applied. This study increases understanding by examining whether patent disputes, which have been mainly recognized negatively as obstacles, can be an opportunity that comes during a crisis.

In this research, several ways of creating effective STI(Scientific & Technological Information) databases were suggested. We put emphasis on the selection of input data, while on the other was handled, such factors as standardization for data entry, data entry system, etc.. In order to decide priority of target data, the status of document delivery service was analyzed. The result shows that conference proceedings were given priority to academic journals. In case of journals, ranking in the number of documents requested at KORDIC (Korea R&D Information Center) and 16 Specialized Information Centers was compared with the ranking in citation frequency and impact factor, appeared at SCI.
Purpose - The purpose of this study is to analyze the current status of various fusion research journals and the operational strategies of such journals and compare them with the operational strategies of IJIDB. Research design, data, and methodology - This study focused on the contents analysis of convergence journals after summarizing the development history from IJIDB's past and its external situation. In addition, we analyzed other strategies such as the number of publication journals, the number of publications, the academic scope, and the impact factor that other convergence journals operate on. Results - As a result of the analysis, the convergent journals showed to have several related journals, and some journals managed their impact factor well at 5.8. Also, some journals loaded 25 papers in one volume. Also, the managerial functions in IJIDB should be developed further to increase its stability. Finally, opportunities for articles by Candidates of Ph.D. and Masters degree students should be more open to in this field. Conclusions - If IJIDB finds its competitiveness in comparison with the operational strategies of other convergence journals, it will be the best journal in the Korea Citation Index to receive the most research papers and hospitality from scholars in the Korean journals.
Objective: It aimed at proposing the Korean Journal of Child Studies' strategy to be promoted to international journal based on the style and format of scholarly journals and journal metrics. Methods: The review of the journal in not only print version, but also an online version was done from the perspective of style and format. The total citation and impact factor were manually calculated from Web of Science Core Collection. Results: More professional level manuscript editing is required for maintaining the consistency of the style and format. The verso page and back matters should be improved to international level. Journal homepage should be reconstructed by adopting digital standards for the journal, including journal article tag suite, CrossMark, FundRef, ORCID, and text and data mining. To become an international journal, transformation into English journal and deposition to PubMed Central is mandatory. Conclusion: Since the editor's and society members' performance is top-notch, it will be possible to promote the journal up to international level soon. Society should guarantee the term of editor for enough time and support her with full cost and complete consent.

The purpose of this study is to lay the groundwork for internationalization of domestic journals in the field of Library and Information Sciences (LIS). This study analyzed the characteristics and trends of 7,302 papers from 38 SSCI journals and 768 papers from 4 domestic journals in LIS. Results show the publication and citation counts of domestic journals to be more evenly distributed than those of international journals, which suggests the presence of core international journals. In addition, citation rates and co-authored papers of international journals are shown to be much higher than that of domestic journals, suggesting that international journals publish research papers of higher impact and collaboration.
