Transoral Laser Excision of a Pyriform Sinus Cyst

  • Pyriform sinus cyst is a rare disease. This disease can be found by chance or appear as lymph nodes with cancer, infections, shortness of breath, or airway compromise, and can be an unusual cause of dysphonia. This paper presents a case of a pyriform sinus cyst in the pharyngeal wall of the left pyriform sinus, which presented as neck discomfort in a 63-year-old female. The plan was to remove this cyst with a transoral CO2 laser because a CO2 laser is a useful tool for removing cysts without bleeding and consuming time. The excision was performed successfully. Transoral laser pyriform sinus cyst excision is a simple, safe, and effective method for the treatment of pyriform sinus cysts. This procedure is likely to be used as a selective treatment when managing this condition.

  • With a simple pulse sequence ($\pi/2$-{gradient, duration T}-acquisition) in solution NMR, detected signal has slowly grown up to percents of the equilibrium magnetization. The source of this unusual resurrection of dephased magnetization after a crushed gradient is cross-correlated effects of radiation damping and the distant dipolar field, which has been demonstrated by a numerical simulation and theoretical analysis.

  • 본 논문에서는 비교기의 설계 및 확장에 쉽게 이용할 수 있는 2bit 인코딩방법을 제안한다. 그리고 제안한 인코딩 방법을 이용하여 현재 비교기로 널리 사용하는 74LS85와 새로 설계한 5bit비교기에서의 직/병렬 N-bit로 확장했을 때의 응용방법을 비교한다. 또한 magnitude 비교기를 이용한 디코더 회로를 꾸며 음수 영역까지 확장할 수 있음을 보인다.

  • A software implementation of floating-point addition and multiplication is presented. For this, the ANSI/IEEE standard for binary floating-point arithmetic is reviewed briefly. The architecture and behavior of the $Intel^{(R)}\;80{\times}87$ FPU is fully studied and basic algorithms for floating-point addition and multiplication are used for the implementation. Some examples and their verifications are also presented.

  • This paper analyzes the 74LS381 ALU and designs its equivalent circuit. The 74LS381 ALU is arithmetic logic units(ALUs)/function generators that perform eight binary arithmetic/logic operations on two 4-bit words. However there are only little information to understand and design this circuit. Thus, we not only analyzed it but also designed an equivalent circuit to the 74LS381.

  • Robust fuzzy logic control, PID control, and sliding mode controllers are designed to control the speed of a third order linear time-invariant model of a motor. The step response performance of each controller, applied to the motor plant, is Presented. We conclude fuzzy logic control can be a useful tool for the control engineering.
