Methods : The 30 patients were divided into 2 groups : group A was treated except myofascial releasement and group B was treated with myofascial releasement. Both group were treated with acupuncture treatment, physical theraphy and herbal medication. Patients were evaluated by McGill Pain Questionnaire-Short Form(SF-MPQ), Visual Analogue Scale(VAS), Pain Disability Index(PDI) and Neck Disability Index(NDI). Results : 1. Both Group were significantly decreased in affective of SF-MPQ, VAS, after 10 times of treatment. 2. Group B compared with the Group A was significantly decreased in affective of SF-MPQ, NDI and PDI after 10 times of treatment. Conclusions : We found out that myofascial releasement is considered to be effective and useful on nuchal pain caused by traffic accidents.

  • Objectives: To determine the evidence supporting the effectiveness and safety of Daoyin exercise therapy for treating low back pain. Methods: We searched 11 electronic databases(Pubmed, Web of Science, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, CAJ, KISTI, KISS, NDSL, KMBASE, RISS, and DBpia) and two related journals, till April 2018 for randomized controlled trials(RCTs) related to testDaoyin exercise therapy for low back pain. Results: The inclusion criteria were fulfilled by eight RCTs. The meta-analysis of the eight studies showed positive results when Daoyin exercise therapy was used for treating low back pain. Conclusions: Based on the meta-analysis, we found indications for the favorable impact of Daoyin exercise therapy on the treatment of low back pain. However, our systematic review has limited evidence to support this theory because of the low quality of original articles. Hence, additional well-designed RCTs should be encouraged.

  • Objectives The purpose of this study was to investigate Korean medicine treatment on hemifacial spasm and to suggest future research direction. Methods We used seven electronic databases to find articles on Korean medicine treatment of hemifacial spasm and by analyzing the title, abstract, and main text, articles elucidating on Korean medicine treatment on hemifacial spasms were included. Results A total of 68 articles were searched from seven electronic databases. Excluding duplicate articles and articles that satisfied the exclusion criteria, nine articles were included in this study. Acupuncture was used in nine cases, herbal medicine in five cases, physical therapy in three cases, and cupping therapy in one case. In acupuncture, general acupuncture was used in five cases, pharmacopuncture in three cases, and Meridian tendino-musculature acupuncture and thread-embedding therapy in two cases each. Gamigwibi-tang used in two cases was the most frequently used herbal medicine. In physical therapy, carbone, hot pack, interferential current therapy, and silver spike point were used in two cases each. Conclusions It was confirmed that Korean medicine treatment for hemifacial spasm was attempted in varying methods and nearly all cases included in this study showed improvement. However, because of the low level of evidence due to the nature of these case reports, further studies should be conducted for an objective comparison and analysis on the effect of Korean medicine treatment compared to existing treatments.

  • Objectives : To investigate the effects of Saengmaeksan-with-Ogapy on the recovery of fatigue induced by post-swimming exercise. Methods : The lactic acid, creatine phosphokinase(CPK), lactate dehydrogenase(LDH) and glucose were measured in blood. Results: The result were as follows; 1. The lactic acid levels in Saengmaeksan and Saengmaeksan-with-Ogapy group were immediately decreased at 30 minutes after exercise and statistically showed the significance different from the control group (P<0.005). 2. The CPK activities in Saengmaeksan and Saengmaeksan-with-Ogapy group were immediately decreased after exercise and statistically showed the significant difference compared with the control group (P<0.05). 3. The LDH activities in Saengmaeksan and Saengmaeksan-with-Ogapy group did not show the significant difference compared with the control group. 4. The glucose levels in Saengmaeksan and Saengmaeksan-with-Ogapy group did not statistically show the significant difference compared with the control group. Conclusions So it could be concluded that saengmaeksan and Saengmaeksan-with-Ogapy can recover the fatigue of after exercise.

Methods : We investigated 112 patients who have signs and symptoms of scoliosis. visited Vertebral -Joint Center of Conmaul Oriental Medical Hospital from January 2003 to July 2004. We measured Cobb's angle in the 112 patients' X-ray of full spine AP and lateral view and also analyzed age, sex, chief complaints. Results : 1. We investigated 72 female and 40 male patients. The most common distribution of age was 20's in both sex. 2. In the scoliosis angle : The average scoliosis angle was $9.27^{\circ}{\pm}6.06^{\circ}$ in 112 patients. The average scoliosis angle of 40 male patients was$8.9^{\circ}{\pm}6.77^{\circ}$. The average scoliosis angle of 72 female patients was $9.48^{\circ}{\pm}5.67^{\circ}$. 3. The most common region of scoliosis was thoracic spine with 37 patients. 4. The most common chief complaint was low back pain with 69 patients. In the 48 patients. self awareness of scoliosis was included in the chief complaint.

  • Objective: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the disc block subluxation for lumbar scoliosis and herniation of nucleus pulpous (HNP). Methods: We used AP & Lateral view X-ray for patients. And we measured of disc wedge angle, vertebral body rotation to evaluate the typical and atypical disc block subluxation. Results: On the analysis of the lateral view X-ray, 4th lumbar intervertebral disc angle (I.V.D angle) showed $4^{\circ}$, $5^{\circ}$, $3^{\circ}$, $0^{\circ}$ in the cases. On the 4th lumbar analysis of the AP view X-ray, lumbar scoliosis showed right disc wedge angle was $11^{\circ}$ (case 1), $17^{\circ}$ (case 2) and left vertebral body rotation was 13mm, 6mm. Lumbar HNP showed left disc wedge angle was $5^{\circ}$ (case 3), $4^{\circ}$ (case 4) and left vertebral body rotation was 2mm, 4mm. Conclusions: Disc block subluxation has been in lumbar scoliosis, but not been in lumbar HNP.

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the therapeutic effect of Positional Release Therapy on patients of neck pain, Methods: 12 patients was treated by Positional Release Therapy(PRT) combined with acupuncture, We measured the Visual Analog Scale(VAS) and Neck Disability Index(NDI) before and after treatment The statistical analysis was performed by using the Wilcoxon signed rank test. Results: 1. Patients showed significant improvement in VAS after treatrnent(p<0.05). 2. Patients showed significant improvement in NDI after treatment(p<0.05). Conclusion: These results imply that Positional Release Therapy combined with acupuncture would be effective on relieving pain and increasing functional ability in daily-life of patients of neck pain.
