Objectives : The purpose of this clinical case is to evaluate the efficacy of Harpagophytum radix. Pharmacopuncture on Degenerative diseases of knee joint. Methods : We used Korean Medicine treatment and Harpagophytum radix. pharmacopuncture, for this patients. This case is measured and assessed by Neumerical Rating Scale(NRS), Korea Western Ontario MacMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index(KWOMAC) and Physical examination of knee joint. Results : The NRS decreased from 8 to 5(Left knee joint) & 5 to 4(Right knee joint) and KWOMAC total points decreased from 77 to 41. Also Physical examination of knee joint improved. Conclusions : Harpagophytum radix. pharmacopuncture with Korean Medicine treatment is proved to be helpful to the pain relief and function recovery of knee joint.

Objectives : This review aims to assess the effect of Wuqinxi exercise for osteoporosis. Methods : We searched 9 electronic databases(Pubmed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, CAJ, Oasis, KISS, NDSL, KMBASE, KISTI) and related 2 journals until November 2017. We included randomized controlled trials(RCTs) of testing Wuqinxi exercise for osteoporosis. The methodological quality of RCTs related assessed by the Cochrane risk of bias tool. Results : 12 RCTs were eligible in our inclusion criteria. No statistical differences were found between the Wuqinxi versus no intervention, Wuqinxi plus antiosteoporosis medications versus antiosteo-porosis medications on lumbar spine, femora bone mineral density (BMD). However, Wuqinxi significantly improved lumbar spine BMD compared with antiosteoporosis medications (P < 0.00001). Additionally, the results showed a remarkable effect in improving pain score(VAS) when Wuqinxi or Wuqinxi plus antiosteoporosis medications (P < 0.0005) was used. Conclusions : There is evidence of Wuqinxi exercise for osteoporosis with meta-analysis. However, our systematic review has limited evidence to support Wuqinxi exercise for osteoporosis. because of low quality of original articles and further well-designed RCTs should be encouraged.

Objectives : To investigate the association between cigarette smoking and clinical outcomes of conservative treatment for lumbar herniated disc. Methods : We reviewed 74 male patients with lumbar herniated disc who were hospitalized at the Jaseng Oriental Medicine Hospital. 74 patients were divided into 2 groups(smokers, non-smokers) and we measured age, ODI score, SF-36 score, VAS. Results : Between smokers and non-smokers, statically significant differences were found in clinical symptoms on the time of 6 months later, effective scores of treatments, value of ODI and value of VAS on the time of 6 months later. And in these values of measurements, non-smokers were higher than those of smokers. Conclusion : These results suggest that possibility of the association between cigarette smoking and clinical outcomes of conservative treatment for lumbar herniated disc.

Objectives : The Purpose of this study is to investigate the clinical application of conservative treatment including hip joint MST for lumbar HIVD(Herniated Intervertebral Disc) and early developed avascular necrosis of femur head. Methods : Patient is hospitalized at Dept. of Oriental Internal Medicine, Jaseng Oriental Medicine Hospital, diagnosed as lumbar HIVD(Herniated Intervertebral Disc) and early developed Avascular Necrosis of Femur Head and treated by herbal medicine, acupuncture, moxibustion and hip joint MST. This study was measured by NRS(Numeric Rating Scale), ODI(Oswestry Disability Index) and ROM(range of motion). Results : After conservative treatment, the patient's pain was controlled and NRS score was decreased. ODI and ROM also were improved. Conclusions : As seen in this one case, Oriental conservative treatment including hip joint MST has a positive effect to control pain with lumbar HIVD(Herniated Intervertebral Disc) and early developed avascular necrosis of femur head.

부천자생한방병원에 2011년 10월 1일부터 2012년 10월 1일까지 만성 족 관절 통증을 주소로 내원한 환자 3명을 대상으로 인대성 관절 스트레인 기법을 사용한 후 모두 VAS가 감소하였다.

Objectives : This study is designed to find out the influence of acupuncture treatments on Iliopsoas muscles of disc herniated patients. Method : Control group took usual acupuncture therapies and sample group took acupuncture therapies on their Iliopsoas muscles and usual acupuncture therapies. To Conclude the results, we studied Numerical Rating Scale(NRS) score and changes of SLR-test angle statistically. Results : The improvement rate of the group who took Iliopsoas muscles and usual acupuncture therapies was higher than the group who only took usual acupuncture therapies. Conclusion : In this study, we found out that the treatment on Iliopsoas muscles is effective to low back pain patients.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to investigate the clinical application of acupuncture treatment to a cervical herniated intervertebral disc patient with hyperventilation syndrome developed after magnetic resonance imaging(MRI). Methods : A patient with cervical herniated intervertebral disc got hyperventilation syndrome after taking magnetic resonance imaging. To relieve symptoms, we took paperbag breathing first aid, but it had no effect. So we used acupuncture therapy with strong stimulation. To measure the outcome of the patient's improvement, we observed change of vital sign and verbal numerical rating scale(VNRS). Results : After 8 minutes of acupuncture treatment, the patient had significant improvement in change of vital sign and verbal numerical rating scale(VNRS). Conclusions : In emergency situation, acupuncture treatment as a first aid has a positive effect to control hyperventilation syndrome.

상기 증례에서 저자는 극상근건 부분 파열 환자에게 한방치료 및 ART 치료를 적용하여 견관절 ROM, VAS 평가를 통해 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. 극상근건 부분 파열로 견통 및 견관절 ROM 제한 발생한 환자에게 한방치료 및 ART 치료를 적용하여 견관절 ROM, VAS에서 현저한 개선 보인 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 2. 비교적 증례가 많지 않고 한방적 치료 과정이 정립되어 있지 않은 극상근건 부분 파열에 한방 치료와 ART 치료를 병행하는 것이 효과가 있음 을 알 수 있었다.

Objects : This study is a report on treatment effect of the case that treated by using of Shinbaro pharmacopunture and acupuncture to plantar fasciitis patients. Methods : The four patients diagnosed with Plantar fasciitis were treated by using of Shinbaro pharmacopunture and acupuncture, Algometer Pressure and Numeric rating scale(NRS) were used as the evaluation tool of treatment effect. Results : Shinbaro pharmacopunture and acupuncture showed improvement of symptoms for all patient groups and brought about significant change on numerical value of Algometer Pressure and Numeric rating scale(NRS). Conclusions : The result shows that Shinbaro pharmacopunture and acupuncture can be effective treatment to Plantar fasciitis. Merely later, further study is needed.
