  • The Testament is 'the repository of the psyche' which can understand the images revealed from human life, mind, and numinous experiences. When the Scripture is psychologically interpreted, not only does it offer an abundance in biblical exegesis, but is also incredibly valuable in understanding the actual dimensions of life. This study examined the meaning of main visions in the Book of Revelation from the perspective of analytical psychology. The core contents of these visions are 1) the image of Christ represented as One like the Son of Man and Apocalyptic lamb, 2) Sun and Moon Woman and Dragon, 3) Whore Babylon and Bride New Jerusalem, 4) Hieros Gamos and Descending New Jerusalem. Such archetypal images lead to become conscious of an individual, and at the same time the visions of Revelation as a drama of archetype present the transion of civilization, as ultimately penetrating the history of the time period. This article contemplated on the characteristics of the archetypal image emerging in the visions and categorized them into the father archetype, mother archetype, or anima archetype. The ultimate purpose of all the visions can be understood as the ascent, conjunction and descent. This will mean to become conscious of human and incarnation of God, i.e. the individuation process. In our time suffering from masculine one-sidedness, the vision of new Jerusalem presents how the feminine can redeem an individual and this world.

  • The purpose of this study is to obtain the symbolic meaning of the priestly costume through the Bible. Based on corroborative the Bible, this thesis analyzes the costume of priest. This compares the two onyx stones on the shoulder pieces with four rows of precious stones on the breastpiece. This era falls on about from the 15th century before Christ. It was found that the breastpiece was a piece of the same multicolored linen as in the ephod, a span square when folded double. It symbolizes righteousness. It hung on the high priest's chest, supported by two golden chains attached to the shoulder clasps. It symbolizes love. On the breastpiece were twelve beautiful jewels, arranged in four rows of three jewels, each jewel symbolizing one of the tribes of Israel. The variety of jewels on the breastpiece suggests the variety of people. Urim is the Hebrew word for 'lights' and therefore would logically be associated with bright or white stones. Thummim is the Hebrew word for 'perfection'. The high priest's ephod was made of gold, and of blue, purple, and scarlet yam, and of finely twisted linen. The golden yam symbolizes faith. The robe of the ephod was made entirely of blue cloth. The blue color symbolizes an obligation and life. The robe of the ephod symbolizes calling and dignity. The woven tunic symbolizes holy duty.

  • The major purpose of this study is to obtain the evident and visual structure of costume of priest with symbol through the Old Testament. Based on corroborative the Old Testament, this thesis analyzes the costume of priest. This compares Aaron with his sons. This compares the two onyx stones on the shoulder pieces with four rows of precious stones on the breastpiece. This compares the robe with the woven tunic. This era falls on about from the 15th century before Christ. The crafts men whom God have endowed with skill make the vestments. Due to the christian religion, the body was entirely concealed. The costume of priest were not only used as dignity but also grandeur. According to the Old Testament the colour of the costume has signified not only the colour sense but also important symbolic meanings. The priest wore, over undergarments, a woven tunic, and he wore over the tunic, a robe, an ephod, a breastpiece, a sash, using a turban as head covering. Gold, and blue, purple and scarlet yarn, and fine linen are used. Aaron and his sons must wear them whenever they enter the Tent of Meeting or approach the altar to minister in the Holy Place, so that they will not incur guilt and die.

  • The western heraldry influenced by the style of periodic art, the lion and the eagle charges were expressed simply and laconically in Romanesque period, laconically but forcibly in Gothic period, and elegantly and elaborately in the period of the Renaissance. The symbolical character of each charge expressed in the heraldry in the process of the changes of the times can be summarized as follows: 1) The ferocious beast like the eagle or the lion in the heraldry is symbolic of a majestic appearance of sovereign's. 2) The legendary or mythical monster in the heraldry is the symbol of holding sacred the heraldry owner endowed superhuman ability from him, or the symbol of coercion or menace to the other party on the appearance of being sized with fear. 3) The domestic animals or the poultry in the heraldry are chiefly symbolic of intrepidity, bravery, sacrifice, or faithfulness, which can be supposed a subject's loyalty to his sovereign. 4) The lamb or the cross in the heraldry is the charge concerned with Christ who brought a fundamantal thought in the middles ages. So they can be said the symbol of Christianity.

  • The flow of liquids submerged with nanoparticles is of significance to industrial applications, specifically in nuclear reactors and the cooling of nuclear systems to improve energy efficiency. The application of nanofluids in water-cooled nuclear systems can result in a significant improvement of their economic performance and/or safety margins. Therefore, in this paper, Marangoni thermal convective boundary layer dusty nanoliquid flow across a flat surface in the presence of solar radiation is studied. A two phase dusty liquid model is considered. Unlike classical temperature-dependent heat source effects, an exponential space-dependent heat source aspect is considered. Stretching variables are utilized to transform the prevailing partial differential system into a nonlinear ordinary differential system, which is then solved numerically via the Runge-Kutta-Fehlberg approach coupled with a shooting technique. The roles of physical parameters are focused in momentum and heat transport distributions. Graphical illustrations are also used to consider local and average Nusselt numbers. We examined the results under both linear and quadratic variation of the surface temperature. Our simulations established that the impact of Marangoni flow is useful for an enhancement of the heat transfer rate.

  • This paper attempted to analyze the Sainte-Chapelle(1242-48) in Paris in terms of Gottfried Semper's theory of four elements. For this aim, this study was divided into two parts: the first part regarding Semper's theory, which included not only the theories of four elements and four technical arts but also the concepts of the two types of primitive dwellings; the second part regarding the Sainte-Chapelle, composed of the overall study and the characteristics of the building and finally the analysis of it in terms of Semper's theory. The Sainte-Chapelle was regarded as a real example of Semper's four elements, in that the building was composed of a sacred altar containing Christ's earthly relics, stereotomic bases made of stone, a tectonic structure featuring linearity, and textile stained glass as an elaborate enclosure. While the bases and the structure were employed as serving elements, the altar and the stained glass played critical roles to make a whole space immaterial and monumental. These two elements served to reveal not only biblical typology but also the religious and political vision of Saint Louis to establish Paris is as a new Holy Land.

  • For the determination of peripheral COMT activity, we synthesized $[2-^{14}C]-3',4'-dihydroxyacetophenone([^{14}C]-DHAP)$, a model substrate closely related to catecholamines, which cannot be attacked by monoamine oxidase. After i.v.-injection of $[^{14}C]-DHAP$ in living animals, only 3',4'-dihydroxy-acetophenone (3',4'-DHAP) and 3'-methoxy-4'-hydroxyacetophenone (3'-MHAP) were detected in blood by thin layer radio chromatography. It could be speculated that 3',4'-DHAP was primarily O-methylated by COMT, followed by subsequent conjugations. The concentration of 3',4'-DHAP, a substrate for COMT, in blood at 5 min after injection of $[^{14}C]-DHAP$, were similar in all animals. The rate of 3'-MHAP formation can be therefore used as an indicator for peripheral COMT activity. The velocity of methylation in 15 min after i.v.-administration of $[^{14}C]-DHAP$ was $0.28\;{\mu}g/ml{\cdot}min$. From these results, 3',4'-DHAP was shown to be used as an appropriate substrate to determine the COMT activity in vivo.

  • This thesis aims to examine the symbolism of color in the clothing of women, focusing on the protagonist of the movie Elizabeth: The Golden Age (2007). At the beginning of the movie, the Queen wears gowns with cartwheel ruff and wheel farthingales, symbolizing the attempt of establishing a powerful majesty. However, the Queen falls in love with Walter Raleigh and her clothing comes to emphasize femininity displaying her cleavage. Later on, her clothing indicates charismatic authority as she prepares for the Spanish war. At the end of the movie, the Queen who led the the country to victory in war puts on a luxurious gown with butterfly wings that reminds of a fairy queen. The colors of the Queen's clothing are categorized into three groups. First, the color red represents two opposite allegories. The positive image of red denotes Christ's blood, the love of God, and noble status of the Queen's image as a savior of England. On the other hand, red represents lewdness and evil which insinuate that the Queen is being attacked on her religious and political genuineness. Second, the color blue represents Saint Maria, chastity, and divinity. Third, the color goldw and white represent the Queen's ideals which are chastity as a virgin Queen and divinity.

  • Experts of medicine, philosophy and psychology found that human somatotypes were related to personality or physical characteristics and classified somatotypes into various forms. This study explored the changes and types of somatotyping methods from Before Christ to present day and identified the status of studies of somatotypes in the area of physical therapy. This study covered the methods applied in various majors with a focus on those provided in books and papers of Heath BH. and Carter JEL. Based on the results, there are officially twelve assessment methods. Currently, the method of Heath & Carter is most widely applied. Somatotypes are studied in many areas. It is actively explored in the area of pain physical therapy, thermotherapy and integumentary physical therapy. Also, the soft tissue physical therapy area seeks interdisciplinary studies. This study found that there were various assessment methods in diverse areas. It is likely that continuous studies will develop new assessment methods. It is hoped that in the area of physical therapy, somatotypes shall be applied more amply.
