Resin Chock 교반기용 임펠러가 달린 축의 진동해석 (Vibration Analysis of Shaft with Impeller for Resin Chock Mixing Machine)

  • This paper deals with the dynamic characteristics of the shaft with impeller model which is the most important part in developing the resin mixing machine. Through reverse engineering, it is possible to make the shaft with impeller geometry model which is necessary vibration characteristic analysis by commercial impeller. The natural frequency analysis and structural analysis using finite element analysis software are performed on the imported commercial shaft with impeller model. The most important fundamental natural frequency of the shaft with impeller model is around 14.5 Hz, which well agrees with modal testing. The most effective design variables were extracted by ANOM(analysis of means) and pareto chart. This paper presents approximation 2nd order polynomial as design variables using RSM(response surface methodology). Generally, RSM take 2 or 3 design variables, but this method uses 5 design variables with table of mixed orthogonal array. Further more, the analyzed result of the commercial shaft with impeller is to be utilized for the structural design of resin chock mixing machine.

  • Present research target to develop the procedure of long-term fatigue analysis of the structural details near the upper rolling chock of IMO type B tank by using the time domain modal analysis technique where both the contact and friction behavior can be accurately simulated. In order to perform the time domain analysis focused on the contact and friction, the entire model of the hull and tank was condensed with DOF reduction technique, which is obtained by transforming the global finite element model into its quasi-static modal coordinate. Modal analysis using the quasi-static deformation modes is chosen as a cost effective time domain simulation method and this is based on the fact that the structural response of the tank is quasi-static. Based on the developed cost effective time domain simulation method, the long-term fatigue analysis procedure for the structural details near the rolling chock and key of independent type tank is targeted to be established. The developed fatigue assessment procedure takes into account, wave induced stress and both contact and friction induced stress without loss of accuracy.

금속소재 부품의 고장분석 사례 (Failure Analysis of Metallic Components)

  • Failure analyses were conducted on a crank shaft and a chock liner by using X-ray diffraction, optical microscopy and SEM/EDS techniques. In the crank shaft, a crack developed where a maximum tensile stress coincided with band structure formed by hot forging. The maximum tensile stress was observed to originate from volume expansion during high frequency induction heat treatment and the band structure to develop between upper and lower dies during hot forging. In the chock liner, the wear mechanism varied with the chemical affinity and hardness of liner material relative to friction pair of housing liner. Brass of low chemical affinity and hardness compared to housing liner showed uniform adhesive wear. STS 304 and STS 420J2 of high chemical affinity showed galling and scoring respectively.

  • Chatter vibration of a rolling machine in steel plants has a significant effect on thickness quality of the products. The cause and mechanism of the mill chattering is addressed through measurement of vibration and dynamic torque. An FFT system and an FM telemetry system are employed to collect data at several locations of possible damages. The results reveal the followings as sources of the mill vibration. The first is defects in roller bearings of a work roll chock. The second is instability of an oil film bearing in a backup roll chock, which has been investigated with a theoretical model describing the phenomenon. Dynamic torque is not the direct cause of mill vibration but rather influenced by the vibration. Appropriate treatment methods are suggested to address each of the above sources.

Numerical and experimental analysis of the resin transfer molding process

  • The objective of this work is to propose a procedure to simulate the flow in the LCM (Liquid Composites Molding) processes by finite difference discretization in a curvilinear coordinate system adapted to the shape of the saturated zone. The numerical results obtained are compared with experimental results obtained by an experimental device elaborated at our laboratory. It allows to realize linear and radial injections for different porosities and to observe the flow front kinetics. Numerical and experimental results are then compared with those of the literatures and excellent agreements are noticed. Finally, we suggest a concept of the capillary number to explain the variations of the permeability obtained for pressure values lower than 0.25 Bar.

  • In this present article, we construct a new framework that's we call the weighted geometric realization of 2 and 3-simplexes. On this new weighted framework, we construct a nonself-adjoint 2-simplex Laplacian L and a self-adjoint 2-simplex Laplacian N. We propose general conditions to ensure sectoriality for our new nonself-adjoint 2-simplex Laplacian L. We show the relation between the essential spectra of L and N. Finally, we prove the absence of the essential spectrum for our 2-simplex Laplacians L and N.

  • 선박이 부두에 안전하게 계류 및 예인하기 위해서는 관련 국제규정에 부합하는 설계를 해야 한다. 그러나 현재까지도 일부 소형 조선소 및 설계 회사에서는 그 내용을 정확히 숙지하지 못하고 있는 경우가 많다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 예인 및 계류설비에 관한 국제규정을 살펴보고, 최신 발효된 MEG4(Mooring equipment guideline 4) 기준에 만족하는 대표적인 계류 의장품인 볼라드(Bollard)와 쵸크(Chock)를 개발하고자 한다. 볼라드는 계류 밧줄을 선체에 고박하기 위한 의장품이며, 일반적으로 2개의 기둥으로, 대부분은 8자 매듭 형태로 사용하고 있다. 쵸크는 선외에서 선내로 들어오는 계류 밧줄의 방향을 전환하고, 밧줄의 손상을 방지하기 위하여 곡률을 갖는 주물방식으로 제작한다. 이 두 가지 계류 의장품은 선박의 선수와 선미, 중앙부 측면에서 많이 사용되고 있다. 최근 컨테이너선 및 LNG 운반선의 크기 증가로 인하여, 계류 밧줄 하중이 증가하고 있으며, 계류 의장품도 안전사용하중(Safe working load)이 변경되어야 한다. 본 연구에서는 유한요소해석 모델링을 통한 허용응력 평가법 결과를 정리하고, 분석하였다. 추가적으로 비선형 붕괴 거동 평가를 통하여, 안전사용하중 결정에 대한 검증을 수행하였고, 탄성영역 내 설계가 되었음을 확인하였다. 연구에서 제안하는 평가법 및 기준, 그리고 해석절차는 향후 유사 의장품 개발 시 참조가 가능하다.

선박용 대형 계류장비의 개발과 강도 평가 (A Study on the Development and Strength Evaluation of the Mooring Fittings with Big Capacity)

  • It has been developed large mooring fittings having the capacity of 160 tons and 180 tons installed on 170K LNG FSRU. The finite element analysis for the mooring fittings was carried out in order to check the structural integrity and to confirm satisfaction of the rule requirements. The 3 kinds of mooring fittings such as chock, bollard and universal fairlead are selected for FE analysis and load test. According to the FE analysis results, all the stress levels satisfied the acceptance criteria guided by the IACS UR A2, ISO standard, ship rules and OCIMF. As test results under design load, no structural defects were found.

열간 선재 압연기에서 작업롤 베어링의 외측링 파손에 관한 연구 (Study on Failure in Outer Ring of Work Roll Bearing in Hot Rod Rolling Mill)

  • A finite element analysis-based approach which investigates the causes of the breakdown in the outer ring of the choke at hot rod rolling mill is presented. Two-dimensional drawings of the whole vertical-type mill stand are transformed into three-dimensional CAD models. Non-linear elasto-plastic deformation analysis of material at the roll gap is performed for computing roll force and torque of the work roll. Then, the reaction forces of the bearing rings together with a set of roller bearings that support the work roll are obtained by means of rigid body motion analysis. Finally, stress behaviors in the bearing rings together with a set of roller bearings that support the work roll are investigated by linear elastic analysis. Results reveal that stress at the contact area between the outer ring and roller bearing is extraordinary high when an internal gap between an external surface of the outer ring and the internal surface of the chock due to wear of the inside of the chock occurs.

Optimization of the Extraction of Polyphenols and Flavonoids from Argania spinosa Leaves using Response Surface Methodology

  • To our knowledge, this is the first study aiming to optimize the extraction conditions of total phenolic compounds (TPC) and total flavonoids contents (TFC) from Argania spinosa leaves using Response Surface Methodology (RSM) with a Box-Behnken design (BBD). The optimal conditions obtained were 5% (w/v) solvent-to-solid ratio, 72.33% ethanol concentration, and 10h ours as an extraction time, which resulted in an extract with maximum TPC (131.63 mg GAE/g dw) and TFC (10.66 mg QE/g dw). Under the optimal extraction conditions, the antioxidant activity of the extracts of leaves of argan tree showed a moderate antiradical capacity of DPPH (IC50 = 0,130 mg/mL) and ABTS (IC50 = 0.198 mg/mL). However, the leaves of argan tree showed a very interesting reducing power of Iron (IC50 = 0.448 mg/ml) which is similar to that of the ascorbic acid (IC50 = 0.371 mg/mL).
