VA/E/MMA 터폴리머 분말수지와 아질산형 hydrocalumite를 병용한 폴리머 시멘트 모르타르의 내구성 (Durability of VA/E/MMA-Modified Mortars with Nitrite-Type Hydrocalumite)

  • In this study, VA/E/MMA-modified mortars with nitrite-type hydrocalumite were prepared with various calumite contents and polymer binder-ratios, and tested for chloride ion penetration, carbonation and drying shrinkage. As a result, the chloride ion penetration and carbonation depths were somewhat increased with calumite contents, but those were remarkably decreased depending on the polymer-binder ratios. The 28-d drying shrinkage showed a tendency to increase with polymer-binder ratios and calumite contents. VA/E/MMA-Modified mortars with a calumite of 10 % were dissatisfied with KS requirements. Accordingly, a calumite content of 5 % for the VA/E/MMA-modified mortars with calumite is recommended.

  • The climate on the Korean Peninsula has been warmed recently, abnormal weather conditions such as heat waves, cold waves, and tropical nights have been detected frequently. Precisely, the number of days with cold waves in the winter has increased, and rapid changes of temperature in the morning and afternoon have occurred frequently in the 2000s. Due to the previous phenomenons, this research is focused on evaluating the concrete's Chloride Penetration Resistance and Durability, and the difference of the resistance according to the W/C.

  • In the present investigation, the chloride ion penetration resistance of nuclear power plant concrete with varying water-to-cement ratios was assessed. A comparative analysis was conducted on concretes that do not incorporate supplementary cementitious materials, such as fly ash, using permanently decommissioned nuclear structures as a reference. The objective is to employ this acquired data as a fundamental resource for the evaluation of the residual service life of nuclear power plant structures in subsequent studies.

  • 콘크리트는 물시멘트비에 상응하는 공극을 가지게 되며, 공극을 통한 염소이온의 확산을 평가하기 위하여 해안가 폭로 및 해수 침지실험이 널리 사용된다. 이상의 실험은 경우에 따라서 다년간의 시간을 요하는 경우도 있어, 최근에는 전기 영동법에 기초한 급속 염소이온 확산시험을 실시하는 경우가 많으나, 그 값이 폭로 및 침지 시험에서 얻은 값과 상이한 경우가 많아 데이터의 실용성을 높이기 위하여 그 원인 규명이 절실한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 평가 방법으로써 Nernst-Einstein의 식을 통한 염화물 이온 이동계수의 산정방법을 사용하였으며, NT BUILD 492법 및 해수 침지실험을 통한 확산 특성과 비교하여 값의 차이에 대하여 고찰하였다. 그 결과 실험인자의 변화가 염소이온 확산에 미치는 영향은 미비한 것으로 평가되어져 실험조건에서 발생하는 영향은 거의 없는 것으로 규명되었으며, NT BUILD 492법과도 거의 동일한 값이 구해졌다. 침지실험 결과와의 상이는 염소이온 확산에서 경계조건의 차이 및 염소이온의 시멘트 수화물과의 고정화에 의한 것으로 판단되어진다.

Modeling of chloride diffusion in a hydrating concrete incorporating silica fume

  • Silica fume has long been used as a mineral admixture to improve the durability and produce high strength and high performance concrete. And in marine and coastal environments, penetration of chloride ions is one of the main mechanisms causing concrete reinforcement corrosion. In this paper, we proposed a numerical procedure to predict the chloride diffusion in a hydrating silica fume blended concrete. This numerical procedure includes two parts: a hydration model and a chloride diffusion model. The hydration model starts with mix proportions of silica fume blended concrete and considers Portland cement hydration and silica fume reaction respectively. By using the hydration model, the evolution of properties of silica fume blended concrete is predicted as a function of curing age and these properties are adopted as input parameters for the chloride penetration model. Furthermore, based on the modeling of physicochemical processes of diffusion of chloride ion into concrete, the chloride distribution in silica fume blended concrete is evaluated. The prediction results agree well with experiment results of chloride ion concentrations in the hydrating concrete incorporating silica fume.

  • In this study, a mathematical model is established for prediction of chloride penetration in unsaturated cracked early-age concrete. The model is combined with models for thermo-hygro dynamic coupling of cement hydration, moisture transport and micro-structure development. Chloride permeability and water permeability at cracked early-age concrete specimens are evaluated using a rapid chloride permeability test and a low-pressure water permeability test, respectively. Then, a homogenization technique is introduced into the model to determine equivalent diffusion coefficient and equivalent Permeation coefficient. Increased chloride transport due to cracks at the specimen could be predicted fairly well by characterizing the cracks using proposed model. Proposed model is verified by comparing diffusion analysis results with test results.

  • Recent construction activities and maintenance of marine facilities have been accelerating to keep up with rapid economic growth in Korea. Marine concrete structures are exposed to salts an chloride from ocean environments. The corrosion of reinforcement steel caused by chloride-penetration into concrete may severely effect the durability of concrete structures. The objective of this research is to develop a durable concrete by investigating the corrosion resistance of various corrosion protection systems utilizing different water/cement ratio, silica fumes, corrosion inhibitors and etc. A tow-year verification test on various corrosion protection systems has been doing in the laboratory and at the seaside. Corrosion investigations on reinforcement steel are now under progress for more than 180 concrete specimen. Corrosion-related measurements include macrocell corrosion current, instant-off voltage between corroding and noncorroding reinforcement, chloride contents, the corroded surface areas on the reinforcement steel, and etc. A low level of corrosion is investigated on reinforcement steels in concrete specimen made with corrosion inhibitors or applied aqueous impregnating corrosion inhibitors into their surface, even though high chloride contents of concrete specimen.

  • 실내촉진실험과 동시에 현장폭로실험을 병행하였기 때문에 연차별 실험계획에 따라 최근 5년차의 현장실험체 분석을 수행하고 모델을 업그레이드하는 과정에서 모델 검증을 위해 준공된 지 30년 가량된 방조제의 배수갑문콘크리트의 염화물 침투프로파일을 분석하였다. Zhang의 연구결과에서 언급된 표면에 가까운 콘크리트내부 염화물 농도를 기본모델의 표면염화물농도 대신으로 적용하였다. 장기간 노출되는 실험체의 염화물 측정자료 분석에서 확산계수의 변화분석을 통하여 Maage의 제안식을 기본모델에 적용하였다. 이렇게 보완된 수정모델을 통하여 예측된 자료와 현장자료를 비교하고, 임계시점, 즉 보수시점을 도출함으로서 본 연구의 제안모델과 유지보수 시스템이 간만대 염화물 침투프로파일 추정과 적정보수 시점 및 비용 예측에 사용될 수 있음을 보였다.

  • In this paper, the increase in chloride resistance of footing concrete at coastal area was evaluated by replacement of Mineral Admixture. In KBC 2009, the footing concrete's minimum specific concrete strength at coastal area is determined to 35MPa. However, this is criteria only based on the strength aspect. Thus, it is not considered to increase the chloride resistance by replacement of Mineral Admixture. According to the test results of chloride ions penetration resistance, 35MPa class concrete with OPC 100% shown inaccessible state. Low-strength (24~30MPa class) concretes with Mineral Admixture, however, presented better performances. In addition, chloride diffusion coefficient tests showed identical appearance. Therefore, the current KBC's chloride resistance criteria based on only concrete strength has to review for the reason it can cause many problems (ex. cost increases by growing concrete strength and the environmental issues by a lot of cement use).

동결융해 작용을 받은 콘크리트의 공극구조 및 염화물 침투저항 특성 (Characteristics of Pore Structure and Chloride Penetration Resistance of Concrete Exposed to Freezing-Thawing)

  • 콘크리트 구조물은 일반적으로 동결융해 작용을 받는 조건에 노출되고, 이러한 동결융해작용은 콘크리트의 공극구조를 변화시키고, 콘크리트의 내구성을 저하시킬 우려가 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 동결융해작용에 의한 콘크리트 내부공극구조 변화와 동결융해작용을 받은 콘크리트의 내구특성을 평가하고자 하였다. 실험결과, 기존의 동결융해 평가기법에 따르면 모든 배합에서 우수한 내구성능을 나타내었으나, 동결융해 작용에 노출됨에 따라 50~100nm 크기의 공극이 크게 증가하며, 콘크리트 염화물침투저항성이 저하하였다. 수중양생 콘크리트의 공극구조와 염화물 침투저항성은 선형관계를 보이지만, 동결융해작용을 받으면 내부공극구조의 변화로 선형관계가 저하하였다. 동결융해작용과 염화물침투를 동시에 받는 구조물의 내구성 평가기준에 대한 재검토가 필요할 것으로 판단된다.
