Objectives: The aim of this study is to investigate chiropractic spinal manipulation and internal diseases in articles. Methods: It was investigated how many articles had been searched for spinal manipulation applied to internal disease in Pubmed Database Results: 1. There are 19 articles of chiropractic spinal manipulation and internal diseases were investigated. 2. It was reported that there are improvements of spinal manipulative therapy on asthma, injury of the optic nerve, hypertension, vertigo, tinnitus, hearing loss, etc. Conclusions: There are several reports on effectiveness of spinal manipulative therapy on asthma, injury of the optic nerve, hypertension, vertigo, tinnitus, hearing loss, etc. And It is considered that spinal manipulative therapy shows improvement on the internal diseases.

The aim of this study was to investigate effects on joint mobilization in neurochemical changes of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate-diaphorase (NADPH-d) and nitric oxide synthase (NOS) of the spinal cord neurons after right knee joint immobilization (RKJI) and in ultrastructural changes of the femoral nerves innervating the muscles acting on RKJI. A total of 15 guinea pigs were used and divided into 5 groups. Immunohistochemistry was performed to detect NADPH-d and NOS. NADPH-d and NOS were not expressed in the ventral horn of control and experimental groups, but were expressed or not in the dorsal horn according to the duration of release after RKJI and the presence or absence of joint mobilization. Ultrastructures of the femoral nerves in experimental groups had partial demyelination and condensed clumps in axon. Effects on manipulative therapy after RKJI were confirmed from expression of NADPH-d and NOS in the dorsal horn of the lumbosacral spinal cord. Manipulative therapy was more effective against a long-term immobilization than a short-term immobilization.

Objectives: The Purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of chiropractic treatment and low back exercise on lumbar lordosis angle, gravity line, range of motion, and pain degree of university students who are taking a commuter bus at least 4 hours of round trip. Methods: A group of 15 participants received chiropractic treatment around the lumbar spine region twice per week for 8 weeks. Another group of 15 participants were treated with low back exercise three times per week for 8 weeks. Results: In the present results, both chiropractic treatment and low back exercise did not affect the change of lumbar lordosis. However, chiropractic treatment also significantly improved the range of the lumbar motion, including Flexion, Extension, Right Lateral Flexion and Left Lateral Flexion(p<0.05), and consequently decreased the pain degree. Low back exercise significantly moved the lumbar gravity line to almost normal scale, and improved the range of the lumbar motion, including Flexion, and Right Lateral Flexion (p<0.05), resulting in the reduction of pain degree, although both chiropractic treatment and exercise treatment did not change the lumbar lordosis angle at the statistically significant. Conclusions: From these results, it can be inferred that chiropractic treatment might be beneficial to alleviating the low back pain of the university students using a commuter bus by improving the range of lumbar motion or stabilizing the lumbar gravity line.

최근 의료분야의 많은 발전과 난치성질환에 대한 여러 노력들에도 불구하고 아토피 피부염은 줄어들지 않고 있으며 오히려 그 수가 늘어가고 있다. 또한 아토피로 인한 사회적 이슈는 더 이상 방치할 수 없는 상황에 이르렀으므로 더 다각적인 아토피 피해 감소에 노력하여야 할 것이다. 이에 이 연구에서는 기존 의학체계에서 다루고 있지 않은 직 간접적 아토피 피해사례를 살펴보고 대체의학 중 수기요법을 활용하여 적용할 수 있는 분야들에 대하여 그 방안들을 제언하므로 미래 직 간접적 아토피 피부염 피해 사례를 줄이고 의료서비스 시장을 늘릴 수 있는 방법을 모색코자 하였다.

Objectives : The aim of this study is to analyze the actual investigation and classification of osteopathic manipulation by investigation of the various literature of the inside and outside of the country, and to present the application plan of osteopathy in chuna manual therapy for meridian sinew system. Methods : I referred to the domestic and foreign books about osteopathy and chiropractic. In order to investigate domestic dissertations, I searched 4 Korean medical databases and 4 Korean medical journals of osteopathy. Search terms used were osteopathy, osteopathic, fascia, proprioreceptor, mechanoreceptor, muscle spindle, golgi tendon organ, osteopathic manipulation technics. And I classified all the searched studies into principle and region and etc. In order to investigate foreign dissertations, I search 'NCBI pubmed'. Search terms used were osteopathy, osteopathic technique, osteopathic manipulative technique. Results : 1. Osteopathy do not regard the systems which compose the human body in individual territory, but regard whole. It is diagnosis, prevention and medicine which treats 2. Osteopathic manipulation techniques are classified into direct techniques, indirect techniques, and compound techniques. 3. Osteopathic manipulation techniques are classified into fascia, muscle, ligament-joint in applied region. 4. I could search clinical cases in domestic and foreign study. I found cases about myofascial release technique(MFR), postisometric relaxation(PIR), proprioceptive neuromuscular fascilitation(PNF), muscle energy technique(MET), joint mobilization in domestic studies, and strain-counterstrain technique(SCS), MET, AK in foreign studies. Conclusions : Osteopathic manipulation techniques can be used in diagnosis and treatment of meridian muscle theory, because osteopathy and the oriental medicine have many similarities in theoretical background. So osteopathic manipulation technique can be useful in oriental medicine treatment techniques.
