The data were collected by self-administered questionnaires during May 2007. One hundred-ninety samples were analyzed by SPSS Windows. Frequencies, Cronbach's alpha, factor analysis, cluster analysis, one-way analysis of variance, Duncan's multiple range test and chi-square test were conducted. The results were as follows. Lifestyles were categorized into four factors by factor analysis: popularity-seeking type, body-management-seeking type, convenience-seeking type and healthy-seeking type. In addition, the respondents belonged to one of four groups by cluster analysis: body-management-seeking group, popularity-seeking group, convenience-seeking group, and healthy-seeking group. • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate effects of obesity on self-rated health in Korean males and females. Methods: The 2010 Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES V-1) data were used. Participants included 1,231 males and 1,289 females aged 20 years or older and had no disease. Chi-square test, t-test, and multiple logistic regression with dummy variables using SAS 9.2 were performed. Results: From univariate analysis, total body fat was significantly greater in males with a self-perception of poor health (p=.006), and the percentage of total body fat was significantly greater in males and females with a self-perception of poor health (p for all=.001). After controlling for demographic and health behavior variables, similar results were found. Females with higher education had a healthy perception of their health. Smoking for males and drinking for females were significantly related to unhealthy perception of their health. Conclusion: The current study provides evidence that obese Korean males and females had worse self-rated health, even though they had no disease. In particular, it is important to note that the relatively direct obesity measures from Dual Energy X-Ray Absorptiometry, such as total body fat and percentage of body fat, were significantly related to self-rated health.

The study used a self-administered questionnaire. The sample consisted of 419 students at 3 girl's high schools located in Seoul. Likert scales were used for most measures with 1=never or very unimportant and 5=always or very important. Physical self-concept was measured on the basis of W S. Jung's Standardized Self-concept Test and Tennessee Self-concept Scale. Percentage, t-test, and Chi-square were used for the analysis of the data. Results are as follows: (1) Those with a high sense of physical self-concept read more magazines. (2) Those with higher sense of physical self-concept showed greater interest in magazine ads, consulted magazines for fashion trends, found ads more useful, and more often expressed satisfaction with the ads, than the lower self-concept group. (3) Advertisers should attempt to gain a deeper understanding of the socio-psychological characteristics of their readership as self-concept appeared to be related to several magazine readership attitudes and behaviors. Apparel ads targeting high school girls should consider the importance of company ads.

Statistical analysis was achieved by using Cronbach'$\alpha$, paired t-test, one-way ANOVA, two-way ANOVA, Duncan's multiple range test, chi-square analysis, and Ward' hierarchical cluster analysis with a total of 801 questionnaires. The results are summarized as follows: First, the adolescents felt that calculated points of father and mother's materialism inclination were lower than median points and mother's inclination for materialism was higher than that of father. Second, five categories were classified according to materialism inclination of parents. First classified category was the type which showed both parents had little interest in materials and the second category was the type which father had strong interest in materials. • The purpose of this study is to identify factors influencing treatment result in patients with Tuberculosis by patient characteristic, admission and disease characteristic, and hospital characteristic from 2006 to 2012. Survey data was using Korean national hospital discharge in-depth survey data produced by KCDC(Korea Center for Disease Control and Prevention). Study subjects were 8,305 inpatients with TB(A15.0~A19.9) and analyzed frequency, chi-square test, and logistic regression by using SPSS 20(Statistical Package for the Science). The results of this study show that influencing factors of treatment result were ages (20-39, 40-64, and over 65 years), type of insurance(medical aid), disease code (A16, A17, A18, A19), LOS (31-90, and 91-180 days), beds of hospital (300-499, 500-999, over 1,000 beds) and hospital district (non-metropolitan). These findings implied that it is necessary to support successful prevention and management for high risk TB groups and to build middle and long-term policies as well as short -term policy.
