장기폭기시킨 축사뇨오수의 벼재배 시비효과 (The Fertilizing Effect of the Long-Time Aerated Animal Wastewater for the Paddy Rice)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of the biologically treated animal wastewater as a liquid fertilizer in the paddy rice. The treated water has content of the ammonia nitrogen 24mg/I and nitrate 40 mg/I on an average in the first year. A trace of nitrite has been shown. The phosphate content was 92 mg/I on an average. The amount of yielded rice was 365kg/10a for test 1 (no fertilizer), 388dg/10a for test 2(chemical fertilizer), 526kg/10a for test 3 (treated water) respectively. The treated water showed 35% more in production than the chemical fertilizer. The treated water has content of the ammonia nitrogen 40mg/I and nitrate 67mg/I on an average in the second year. A trace of nitrite has been shown. The phosphate content was 57mg/I on an average. The amount of yielded rice was 402kg/10a for test 1, 505kg/10a for test 2, 607kg/10a for test 3 respectively. Yield of unhulled rice was 20% more in the plot of treated water than that of chemical fertilizer.

  • 다양한 화학구조를 포함하는 폴리에스테르를 분해성 수지인 셀룰로오스와 비분해성 수지인 PVC 및 PE를 기준물질로 한 controlled compost test와 soil burial test를 적용하여 생분해 거동을 살펴보았다. 이들 고분자의 화학구조가 유연한 지방족 사슬과 에스테르기를 가지고 있는 지방족 폴리에스테르는 가수분해 효소에 의해 분해되고, 방향족 고리를 포함하는 공중합 형태의 폴리에스테르는 상대적으로 낮은 생분해도를 보여주었다. 조절된 퇴비화 조건에서 셀룰로오스가 45일에 70.6%의 분해도를 보일 때, 합성된 poly(butylene adipate-co-succinate), poly(butylene succinate), poly(butylene adipate-co-succinate-co-terephthalate)는 각각 44.0%, 32.0%, 23.4%,의 생분해도를 보여주어 이들 고분자의 화학적 구조에 따라 생분해거동이 많은 영향을 받음을 확인하였다.

  • Coated bars are protecting reinforcing bars from corrosion and enhancing durabilities of reinforced concrete structures are tested to evaluate corrosion protection properties. Tests are performed based on the relevant standards of ACI and ASTM, such as chemical resistance, salt water spray, salt crack test and chloride permeability test with the main variable of the coating thickness. Three type materials are tested by Polyethylene, epoxy and bare bar. Test results show good chemical protection property and chloride permeability. Polyethylene coated bar is good coating material than any other materials.

천연물 제초제 개발을 위한 전식물체 수준의 경엽처리 검정법 확립 (Establishment of Foliar Application Assays for Developing Natural Herbicides)

  • 본 연구는 식물정유의 활용과 개발을 포함한 천연물 제초제의 개발을 효과적으로 추진하기 위한 방안으로서 식물정유 성분의 특성이 고려된 개선된 전식물체(whole-plant) 검정법을 확립하기 위해 수행되었다. 잡초 4초종을(피, 바랭이, 자귀풀, 어저귀) 이용하는 전식물체 경엽살포 검정법은 검정 화합물 량이 충분할 경우, 전식물체 생장점 점적처리법은 검정화합물이 미량일 때 추천할 수 있는 방법으로 판단되었다. 각 식물정유 처리시 초기 처리농도는 $2,500{\sim}5,000{\mu}g\;mL^{-1}$ 수준이 필요하였으며 계면활성제는 Tween 20 보다 NOP를 첨가하였을 경우에 보다 높은 살초활성을 나타내었다. 식물정유와 같이 휘발성이 있는 천연물의 활성을 평가하기 위해서는 약제를 처리한 후 과습 상태에 일정시간 두면 제초활성 발현이 증진되었다. 또한 전식물체 생장점 점적처리법은 경엽살포 검정법에 비해 약 1/100의 약제처리량(부피), 약 1/200의 성분량(무게)에서도 살초효과의 검정이 가능하였다.

질산 저장탱크 방류벽의 불침투성 콘크리트 바닥에 대한 위험성 평가 (Analysis on the Risk of the Impermeable Concrete Bottom of Dikes for Nitric Acid Storage Tanks)

  • Considering the chemical reaction between concrete which is the raw material of the dike bottoms and hazardous chemicals, some chemicals can have negative effects on the impermeability of concrete dike bottoms. The impermeable standards for the concrete bottom of dikes have been made in the recent study, but the previous study was based on the exposure test to crude oil which is not corrosive and not related to the chemical reaction. It can be concluded that the test of crude oil can't represent all kinds of hazardous chemicals, especially highly corrosive chemicals. Meanwhile, this study has conducted the exposure test to nitric acid that is strongly corrosive and very hazardous. The results have showed that nitric acid has been penetrated at the maximum penetration depth of 2.9 cm for 7 days and the impermeable standards are better than the germany standard. Through this study with severe chemical, the scientific basis on the installation standards of all dike bottoms which are generally used in the industry has been obtained.

보호시스템 보증시험 적용이 장외영향평가 안전성 확보에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Proof Test of Protective System on Securing Safety of Off-site Risk Assessment)

  • The risk is expressed as consequence of damage multiplied by likelihood of failure. The installation of a protective system reduces the risk by reducing the likelihood of failure at the facility. Also, the protective system has different effects on the likelihood of failure according to the proof test cycle. However, when assessing risks in the Off-site Risk Assessment (ORA) system, the variation in risk was not reflected according to the proof test cycle of protective system. This study was conducted to examine the need for proof test and the importance of cycle setting by applying periodic proof test of the protective system to ORA. The results showed that the likelihood of failure and the risk increased with longer proof test cycle. The risk of a two-yearly proof test was eight times greater than that of a three-month cycle. From the results, the protective system needs periodic proof test. Untested protective system for a long term cannot be reliable because it is more likely to be failed state when it is called upon to operate. In order to reduce the risk to an acceptable level, it is effective to differently set the proof test cycle according to the priority. This study suggested a more systematic and accurate risk analysis standard than ORA. This standard is expected to enable an acceptable level of risk management by systematically setting the priority and proof test cycle of the protective system. It is also expected to contribute to securing the safety of chemical facilities and at the same time, will lead to the development of the ORA system.

고분자 전해질 연료전지 스택에서 전해질막의 열화 가속시험 (Accelerated Degradation Test of Electrolyte Membrane in PEMFC Stack)

  • 최근까지 고분자전해질 연료전지(PEMFC)의 열화연구는 대부분 단위전지에서 연구되었다. 그런데 실제 PEMFC의 구동과 열화는 PEMFC 스택에서 이루어진다. 그래서 본 연구에서는 스택에서 열화가속 시험을 진행하여 단위전지의 결과와 비교하였다. 여러 종류의 열화 가속 시험 중에서 전기화학적 열화와 기계적 열화를 반복해 고분자전해질 막을 열화시키는 방법을 사용했다. 312시간 동안 전해질막을 열화시킨 후 0.6V에서 전류밀도는 스택과 단위전지에서 각각 28.4%, 27.8% 감소했다. 수소 투과 전류밀도는 스택은 16.8% 단위전지는 15.2% 증가했다. 스택과 단위전지에서의 열화 가속 시험 결과가 비슷해 단위전지의 가속 시험 방법을 스택에 적용해도 됨을 확인하였다.

화생방 보호의 성능평가를 위한 무선 실시간 가스 검출기 개발 (Development of Wireless Real-Time Gas Detector System for Chemical Protection Performance Test of Personal Protective Equipment)

  • Man-In-Simulant Test(MIST) provides a test method to evaluate chemical protective equipments such as protective garments, gloves, footwear and gas mask. The MIST chamber is built to control concentration of chemical vapor that has a activity space for two persons. Non-toxic methyl-salicylate(MeS) is used to simulate chemical agent vapor. We carried out to measure inward leakage MeS vapors by using passive adsorbent dosimeter(PAD) which are placed on the skin at specific locations of the body while man is activity according to the standard procedure in MIST chamber. But more time is required for PADs and there is concern of contamination in PADs by recovering after experiment. Therefore detector for measuring in real time is necessary. In order to analyze in real time the contamination of the personal protective equipment inside the chemical environment, we have developed a wireless real-time gas detector. The detector consists of 8 gas-sensors and 1 control-board. The control-board includes a CPU for processing a signal, a power supply unit for biasing the sensor and Bluetooth-chipset for transmission of signals to external PC. All signals from gas-sensors are converted into digital signals simultaneously in the control-board. These digital signals are stored in external PC via Bluetooth wireless communication. The experiment is performed by using protective equipment worn on manikin. The detector is mounted inside protective equipment which is capable of providing a real-time monitoring inward leakage MeS vapor. Developed detector is demonstrated the feasibility as real-time detector for MIST.

Formaldehyde 가스 흡입에 의한 마우스의 급성독성 및 소핵 유발성에 관한 연구

  • The acute and genetic effect of formaldehyde on mice through inhalation route was studied. The Riley's chamber with one stack of cage was used for the exposure and the micronucleus test was performed under unprecedently maximum exposure concentration. LC50's of formaldehyde in mice by whole body exposure for 4 hours were 105.5 ppm with 95% confidence interval of 72.6 ppm and 143.2 ppm for male, and 159.2 ppm with 95% confidence interval of 116.5 ppm and 272.7 ppm for female. Cinicial symptoms by acute exposure were salivation, lacrimation, and abnormal respiration.

장기저장시 가공 원료잎담배의 이화학성 변화 (The Change of Physical and Chemical Properties of Processed Leaf Tobacco During Long-term Storage)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the changes of physical and chemical properties and the usability of long-term stored leaf tobacco. The physical chemical properties of the flue-cured and burley leaves produced in 1993, processed in 1994 were analysed from Nov. 1996 to Nov. 1999. The pH and moisture content in leaf decreased slowly until 4 years’storage after processing, while those of leaf changed little thereafter. However, total sugar content continuously decreased until 5 years after processing. The filling capacity increased and shatter resistance index decreased in long-term stored leaf. The sensory test, cilia stasis and the chemical components of cigarette smoke had no significant differences between short and long-term stored leaves. When the processed leaves were stored till 5 years after processing, there were no deteriorative effects on quality and usability of leaf tobacco. Therefore, it is considered that the processed leaf may be stored for 5 years or more under the inevitable situation.
