CMP 공정에서 Diamond Disk와 Pad PCR 상관관계 연구 (Interrelation of the Diamond Disk and pad PCR in the CMP Process)

  • As circuits become increasingly complex and devices sizes shrinks, the demands placed on global planarization of higher level. Chemical Mechanical Polishing (CMP) is an indispensable manufacturing process used to achieve global planarity. In the CMP process, Diamond Disk (DD) plays an important role in the maintenance of removal rate. According to studies, the cause of removal rate decrease in the early or end stage of diamond disk lifetime comes from pad surface change. We also presented pad cutting rate (PCR) as a useful cutting ability index of DD and studied PCR trend about variable parameters that including size, hardness, shape of DD and RPM, pressure of conditioner It has been shown that PCR control ability of pressure and shape is superior to RPM and size. High pressure leads to a decrease of cell open ratio of pad surface because polyurethane of pad is destroyed by pressure. So low pressure high RPM condition is a proper removal rate sustain. By examining correlations between RPM and pressure of conditioner, it has been shown that PCR safe zoneto satisfy proper removal rate has the range 0.06mm/hr to 0.12mm/hr.

Analysis of Corrosion Behavior of KOFA Zircaloy-4 Cladding

  • The corrosion behavior of KOFA cladding which is a standard Zircaloy-4 manufactured by Westinghouse Specialty Metal Plant according to the Siemens/KWU's HCW (Highly Cold Worked) standard Zircaloy-4 specification was analyzed using the oxide measurement data of KOFA fuel irradiated in Kori-2 nuclear power plant. Analysis of the measured KOFA cladding oxidation showed that oxidation of KOFA cladding was lower than the design prediction based upon Siemens/KWU's HCW standard Zircaloy-4 cladding. Although the measured fuel rods have relatively low burnup and oxidation and the amount of the measured data are small, analysis of manufacturing and in-reactor operation conditions of KOFA cladding indicates that the differences in the manufacturing processes and chemical composition of the Siemens/KWU's HCW (Highly Cold Worked) standard Zircaloy-4 and KOFA cladding may have somewhat contributed to lower corrosion of KOFA cladding than the expected.

화학제품제조업에서 배출되는 폐 유기성슬러지의 열적 특성 (Thermal Characteristics of Waste Organic Sludges Discharged from an Chemical Product Manufacturing Industry)

  • 본 연구는 산업단지의 화학제품제조업 및 석유화학제품제조업에서 발생하는 유기성슬러지에 대하여 삼성분, 원소조성, 발열량, 열중량 분석 및 연소시험을 실시하였다. 삼성분 분석 결과 "화합물 및 화학제품 제조업"의 평균값은 수분함량 75.11, 가연분 17.42, 불연분 7.45%로 나타났으며, "코크스, 석유 정제품 및 핵연료 제조업"의 경우 평균값은 수분함량 77.54, 가연분 18.25, 불연분 4.22%로 나타났다. 원소분석 결과 평균값은 "화합물 및 화학제품 제조업"의 경우 C 33.06, H 4.34, O 24.81, N 5.18, S 0.72wt%로 나타났으며, "코크스, 석유 정제품 및 핵연료 제조업"의 경우 C 36.58, H 4.74, O 26.79, N 5.09, S 0.49wt%로 나타났다. 열중량분석 결과, B사에서 배출되는 슬러지는 $700^{\circ}C$ 이상에서 그리고 F와 N사에서 배출되는 슬러지는 $600^{\circ}C$ 정도의 온도에서도 연소가 가능할 것으로 판단된다. 연소테스트 결과, 산화반응과 동시에 열분해 반응으로 고농도의 일산화탄소가 배출되므로 이로 인한 로의 국부과열이나 파손현상에 대한 기초자료를 얻는데 이용될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

인쇄회로기판 제조 공정에서 위험성평가와 안전조치 적용 사례 연구 (A Case Study of Risk Assessments and Safety Measures in a PCB Manufacturing Process)

  • Printed circuit boards (PCBs) are a basic component in the electronics industry and are widely used in nearly all electronic products, such as mobile phones, tablet computers, and digital cameras, as well as in electric equipment. PCB manufacturing involves the use of many chemicals and chemical processes and therefore has more risks than other manufacturing sectors. This study aims to identify the causes of possible accidents during PCB manufacturing through risk assessment, develop and implement safety measures, and evaluate the effectiveness of these measures. Note that the safety measures developed to mitigate the risks of a certain process were also implemented for other similar processes. The risk assessments conducted over seven years, from 2015 to 2021, at a PCB manufacturing company identified 361 hazardous processes. Between 2016 and 2019, 41-56 hazardous processes were identified per year; such processes decreased to fewer than 20 per year after 2020. Application of the risk assessment results to the improvement of the hazardous processes with the similar characteristics seems to be effective in decreasing the risks. Equipment-related factors such as lack of appropriate maintenance, low work standards, and defective protection devices were responsible for 59.8% of all possible accidents. Because PCB manufacturing involves many chemicals, skin contact with hazardous substances, electric shock, fire, and explosion were the most common types of possible accidents (81.7%). In total, 505 safety measures were implemented, including 157 related to purchase and improvement of equipment and devices for safety (31.1%), 147 related to the installation/modification of fire prevention facilities (29.1%), and 69 related to the use of standard electrical appliances (13.7%). Risk assessment conducted after implementing the safety measures showed that these measures significantly decreased risk; 247 processes (68.4%) had a risk level of 3, corresponding to "very low," and 114 processes (31.6%) showed a risk level of 4, corresponding to "low." In particular, risk assessment of 104 processes with risk scores of 12 and 10 other processes with risk score of 16 showed that the risk decreased to 4 after implementing the safety measures. Thus, implementing these measures in similar manufacturing sectors that involve chemical processes can mitigate risk.

  • 본 논문에서는 범퍼 스키드 플레이트 및 아웃사이드미러 하우징 부품에 적용되는 polypropylene (PP)와 acrylonitrile styrene acrylate (ASA) 소재를 활용하여 무도장 메탈릭 소재 구현에 대해 연구하였다. 금속 효과를 극대화하기 위해 알루미늄 입자의 종류, 크기, 함량을 최적화하였고 웰드 라인을 은폐하기 위해 종횡비가 상이한 하이브리드 알루미늄 입자를 사용하였다. 또한 부품 표면에 발생되는 플로우 마크를 개선하기 위해 유동성을 제어하였으며 사출 해석을 수행하였다.

  • Many monopropellant thrusters use a catalyst for decompose the propellant, hydrazine. The catalyst directly affects the thruster performances and lifetime. Therefore, it is important to confirm that the catalyst is suitable for our thrusters. Until 2002, we used She1l405 catalyst, for satellite RCS thrusters, and H-IIA and M-V launch vehicle upper-stage RCS thrusters. In 2002, however, Shell Chemical Inc. ceased manufacturing She1l405 catalyst and transferred the product to AEROJET, where it was renamed S405. We subsequently investigated the characteristics of AEROJET's S405 catalyst and SOLVAY's KC12GA catalyst, (SOLVAY is a Belgian chemical company, and KC12GA is used for ASTRIUM's thruster) and conducted thruster firing tests using the new catalysts. After conducting, we confirm that the KC12GA catalyst was suitable for our thrusters, and decided to use KC12GA for two satellite programs.

  • 산업단지의 제지산업 및 음식료업에서 발생하는 유기성슬러지에 대하여 삼성분, 원소조성, 발열량, 열중량 분석 및 연소시험을 실시하였다. 삼성분 분석 결과 제지업의 평균값은 수분함량이 66.07%, 가연분이 14.67%, 회분이 19.29%로 나타났으며, 음식료업의 경우 평균값은 수분함량이 54.98%, 가연분이 26.77%, 회분이 18.23%로 나타났다. 원소분석 결과 평균값은 제지산업의 경우 C 21.75%, H 3.42%, O 32.70%, N 0.63%, S 0.30%로 나타났으며, 음식료업의 경우 C 39.88%, H 4.28%, O 23.20%, N 2.65%, S 0.35%로 나타났다. Dulong식을 이용하여 계산한 저위발열량이 2,000 kcal/kg을 넘는 T사의 경우 직접 연소 처리하여 에너지화 하는 것이 가능할 것으로 판단되지만 전처리가 필요하며, A와 C업체의 경우 연소처리를 통한 에너지화에는 어려움이 있을 것으로 판단된다. TGA 분석 결과, A사에서 배출되는 슬러지는 $700^{\circ}C$ 이상에서 연소를 해야 할 것으로 판단되며, C, I, T 3개 회사에서 배출되는 슬러지는 최소 $800^{\circ}C$ 이상 연소온도를 올려야 할 것으로 판단된다

  • Thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs), a unique class of polymers, combine the processing ease of thermoplastics with the advanced properties of thermoset rubbers. TPEs can be remelted several times without any significant loss of properties, and can be molded into complex shapes using conventional processing equipment. Due to their characteristics, TPEs are ideal for use in a variety of applications in the automotive field. Although the TPE market of the Republic of Korea is currently at its niche, the increasing manufacturing push from major companies is expected to open up multiple opportunities for these products in the automotive sector. This manuscript highlights a detailed technological trend of the global automotive thermoplastic elastomers market.

물질안전보건자료 교육에 대한 안전보건관리자와 근로자의 인식 (A Surveillance Study of the Viewpoints on the Material Safety Data Sheets(MSDS) Training for Safety and Health Managers and Workers)

  • Objectives: This study was conducted to survey the viewpoints on the material safety data sheets(MSDS) training for safety and health managers(SHMs) and workers. Subjects and Methods: A surveillance was made using a self-reported questionnaire for 78 SHMs and 122 workers to survey their viewpoints on the MSDS training. Survey results were analyzed using the SPSS program(Version 12.0 SPSS Inc., USA). Results: The result of the study shows that there are contrasts with the cognition of SHMs' and workers' on the education of MSDS and the program preference for education efficiency of MSDS. Workers were significantly more interested in the MSDS education than the SHMs did. Workers preferred the education program which is easily to be understood, to voluntarily participate on MSDS education, but SHMs did the quiz program. Also we found that the SHMs wanted to learn the education program via the expert(37.3%) rather than education resources(33.3%) which were served by government or relevant agency. In contrast, workers wanted the audio-visual education program, which is mainly consisted of accident cases (33.3%), rather than periodical education program(22.1%). Conclusions: This study showed that effectiveness of MSDS education was associated with the program served by company, and the education program for the voluntary participation of the workers should be made practical and attractive.
